Ch 1 : Reborn as a video game character... cool

When I woke up the morning after playing the new Dark Pictures game, not that it was even worth playing with how filled it was with terrible, game breaking glitches, I wasn't expecting to see a mountain of bricks around me. My first thought was that I had been moved in my sleep, but I quickly gave up that thought when I looked down at my hulk sized hands.

"Bricks... lumberjack looking overalls... d@mn it... I died and was reborn as Wreck-it-Ralph!" I couldn't help but shout out when I realised just what happened to me.

It was easier to accept once I thought about what this actually meant for me.

I was now able to live out my dream of exploring different worlds and living a life filled with adventure and excitement doing whatever I wanted.

But I first had to break this game and change it to fit my needs.

To start, I need to find the games code space, where the game keeps all its code and memory for this game.

It took a couple of days before I found it, during which I had to keep up appearances of being the villain that Felix defeated every time even though I could smash him like a bug with my new inhuman strength. It was difficult to control myself with how the NPC's treated me like trash. Discarding me after every 'defeat' ... I was going to enjoy breaking them.

I was surprised Ralph didn't snap sooner and erase all of those pudgy midgets with how angry I got from a day of this mistreatment. I will get revenge for him. His memory deserves it, after all.

I first had to make some alterations to this game first. The rest will come naturally later.

After I found the games code space, it didn't take me long to figure out how to change things to fit my needs.

I started by taking my profile and separating it completely from the game. It made my figure glitch a bit before I started taking copies of the games operating systems and combining them with my profile. This made me a separate entity altogether, free to do what I like since I no longer needed the game to stay glitch-less.

Before I finished with my profile, I decided to make a few cosmetic changes and some changes to the operating systems just to make them more user-friendly.

I made myself look like Doomguy without the armour since I didn't have a copy of that items code. But I was happy enough to stop looking so blocky. My strength didn't change with my Doomguy skin change since it was all just outward changes.

After all, when I had a free-rain with my character customisation, I was going to make myself look cooler. And who better then, Doomguy?

After changing what I looked like. I focused on the operating system I copied to keep me together outside of my home game. I made it so it could be accessed with voice commands and was used through blue, pop-up, holographic panels that I designed after 'The Gamers' own system.

While I was adding changes, I thought about what I could add to it to make it better, and so I started grabbing up all of the blank memory space crystals and attaching them to the system. Once all were connected, I made the system make use of the memory like an inventory space. So I could take items and store their code, to then be able to take the item out whenever I needed.

So, with that change, I could now use my system to see my status, to see what my physical parameters were and let me tell you they were pretty one-sided in the strength and endurance categories. But I can fix that in the future since I made myself the ability to grow as well. Meaning repeated actions like sprinting and using my mind, it would increase my stats in those categories as well.

It also displayed my skills, I only had three at the moment. They were as follows.

-

Rage : Lvl 100 (100% exp) (Max Lvl)

500% increase in strength when in an enraged state, lasts till current enemy targeted is defeated/killed. Cool down 3 hours. 30% drop in stamina for 30 minutes after use.

-

This must be the berserker state I would enter on the later stage of the game against Felix. A very good skill altogether, and the drop of stamina wasn't a huge loss if I worked on that. The demerits were probably worse in the lower levels, but thankfully, Ralph maxed it out for me.

The second skill was also really good.

-

Physical Resistance : Lvl 100 (100% exp) (Max Lvl)

All damage taken reduced by 90%.

-

This skill spoke for itself, I take only 10% of any damage. Meaning a punch to the face would feel like a tap.

The only reason why a character like Ralph would have such a skill would be because of how the game was designed to be won, Felix just had to knock him off the building and that would be it, but Ralph had to survive that fall didn't he? So the games creator gave him this skill.

The third skill was something I made myself, the thing I spent most of the night designing, using the most random bits of code to make it work. But I did make it work.

-

Steal : Lvl 1 (0% exp)

Defeat/kill enemies to take their stats, items, and skills. Steal 1% of total stats, randomly distributed. Choose one item to steal once enemies are defeated/killed. Item deposited to inventory once chosen. Choose one skill to steal once enemies are defeated/killed, skill level resets to level 1. Killed enemies can not respawn.

-

This was my masterpiece. This was going to lead me to the top. Once I levelled this skill up, the number of stats I could steal would go up, and so would the amount of items and skills, along with the skills levels. With this, I could become the strongest, and since I was running on my own system, they would have to kill me to stop me. Not like I would let them have the chance.

After making all the changes, and once I was happy, I took the heavily altered profile crystal and pushed it into my chest, where it sank, falling directly into my chest without even a ripple.

"Status." I called out in my rough voice, I my have altered my voice as well. Not even a second later, a blue panel appeared in front of me.

-

Status Panel

Name: Ralph | Job: Villain | Race: Human

Lvl 1 (0% exp)

HP: 7,000/7,000 | SP: 6,700/6,700

END: 67

AGI: 10

INT: 8

WIS: 7

I looked over my status panel and first clicked on my name, another blue panel popping up with a keyboard and OK button. Typing in my new name, I clicked OK.

Weyland Savage was born again.
