Never good with goodbyes
Jakes said " you are now awake, how are you feeling, I know it's stupid to ask that, will you need help with funeral arrangements?"
Laura said "it's not stupid it's caring, my step mother said my father wanted to be cremated and to throw the ashes to the river. He was against it I remember him so angry that his sister was cremated, and he didn't see her body for the last time."
Jakes said " we better get going before he is cremated and if you think that is not what he would have wanted you can stop it from happening."
Laura said "my stepmother said there's documents saying so, I guess didn't know him after all."
Jakes said "he changed his mind about it, I guess."
Saying Goodbyes is hard especially when your life with that person was complicated, crazy love or hate relationship and you don't know what to say or how to feel when they're now gone.
Laura went to say her goodbyes and her father was cremated. It was Sunday when she throw his ashes to the river. Eric and his father were there and also Laura's stepmother.
Jakes said "we can go now babe."
Laura said "just want to be here for a while alone."
Jakes said "will be waiting in the car."
*Jakes joined Eric and his father*
Eric's Father said "how is she doing?"
Jakes said "she is not good and I don't know what to say or do."
Eric said "just be there for her and even when she pushes you away."
Jakes said "I will do that, have you talk to her now that she is your daughter Mr Thompson?"
Eric's Father said "I haven't, and now is not the right time."
Eric said "it will have to wait."
Jakes said "alright, after few days talk to her she needs to move on from knowing what happened to her mother and deal with the fact that you're her biological father."
Eric said "you want my dad to replace her father who just died."
Jakes said "No, I don't like seeing her like this and want her to heal and in order to move on, you need to talk her. "
Eric's Father said "I hear you. "
Laura said "Forgive me for not being there for you, my mother would have wanted me to be there, hold your hand and say it's okay don't be scared you are going home. All I ever wanted was for you to see me as your daughter, love me and protect me. I looked up to you, you worked hard to provide for your family that made me work hard at school. I wanted your approval, validation and to make you proud. I know who I am now, I'm strong and independent woman because of you and what you put me through. I forgive you and I love you. RIP Father"
