Non Existing Stars

Sometimes we are born under unwanted circumstances and we feel as if our lucky stars are actually trying to destroy us. Well, let me tell you something, and we’ll begin with them lucky stars, they are a lie. Lucky stars are just a term someone decided to create to make life’s misfortunes and fortunes explainable, but they are not existent. That being said I have room now to explain in detail a tale of many misfortunes and one kid that turned out to be pretty great and yadda, yadda. So, let us begin. This kid was born in a very crooked and poor household, I don’t mean to say that a very rich household cannot be crooked, but his was incidentally also poor. Why, you might wonder, because his mother was an addict, who loved to spend whatever little money she managed to get her hands into on heavy drugs, did she stop using them when she got pregnant? Of course not. So, our unlucky kid was not only born in an unsanitary and unsafe place, this kid was already born as an addict, just like his mother. But as a newborn, you don’t have the means to put your tinny fickle hands on what your body is addicted to, you simply have to power on through an unasked rehab and withdrawal symptoms. Of course, his mother was not very much happy or sad when this kid was born, she was a bit too hollow to feel much besides an insane craving for drugs. So, as the kid cried his lungs off, someone called the police and this tiny baby goes to child protective service, then to the hospital so he could pass through rehab without feeling the withdrawal so fiercely. He was cared for some time; one can even say he was loved. But as anything in his little life, it did not last very long. Soon he was stuck on a foster house, waiting to be adopted into a loving family. Which didn’t happen because not everyone is easily interested in a kid that can fall into drug abuse or addiction easily. It is just how the world and people work. So, this kid had to jump from foster home to foster home until he finally accepted that no, he was not getting adopted. And this is where I want to begin, this is where I will start to give all of you more intake and details, so hang in tight, because we are in for a very bumpy ride.

Poison Ivy

Mauve was feeling like trash.

She had heard those words coming out of that girl's mouth, she had, it wasn't a dream, and Mauve, although she tried very hard, could not convince herself that Skye was lying. She hugged herself tightly. Why did it have to be Jonathan? Jonathan was her next-door neighbor and the reason she stayed awake at night. Mauve had been completely captured by him and his personality from the very beginning, he was a handsome boy, muscular and with a thousand watts smile; Mauve's heart had no chance at all. Then she had learned about his achievements at school and how he would spend his weekends doing good deeds for people in need, and Mauve thought that he was the most perfect boy that could have ever existed and that she was so very lucky to live next door to such a guy.

And slowly he had taken the initiative to approach her, he saw her at school and thought that maybe they could be friends since they did live next to each other. Mauve could not have been any happier that day, but she had decided to keep all of that a secret because, honestly, she did not feel comfortable discussing her feelings with Jordan just yet. But then Karen came and she finally had a girl friend to talk about things, yet, she was in love with Jordan and that was too much for Mauve's psyche. And during that time when she was so unapproachable and angry with everyone else, she had remained the same with Jonathan, in fact, she had begun to make small efforts to be more intimate with him and to her delight, those efforts had started to bear fruit.

So when she heard from Skye that Jonathan was a rapist, she had suddenly felt as if her whole world was falling apart, the sky was falling on top of her head and the only thing she could feel for real at that moment was nauseated. Was she truly in love with a rapist? Was Jonathan Wales that bad? How could she have been in love with someone like that? So, Mauve ran away. She wanted to be alone, and she wanted to hide. She felt like every eye was on her at that moment, staring and judging her because she had been so infatuated with such a terrible person. She found the nearest bathroom and threw herself inside, launching the door with such strength that if any poor girl was behind it, it would most definitely have broken her nose. Mauve hid on the last stall, the furthest from the door, she crouched on top of the toilet and hugged her knees tightly. Why was that happening to her? Mauve cried bitterly, huge tears rolling down her face, either for shame, anger, humiliation, or all of those mixed. It was a cocktail of distress, and the memories she had shared with Jonathan only made it all worse.

[Hey, u ok? I saw u run]

To her dismay, that message had come from the same person that had caused her all those feelings, and Mauve had no heart to respond. She just locked her phone again and wailed harder. If Jonathan really was that awful then why was he so nice to her? Could she be his next target? Mauve's entire body revolted at that idea and all she could do was hug her knees harder and try to take deep breaths. It was all so horrible, so monstrous... could she have been making it easier for him? Mauve shook her head violently, she could not accept the idea that she was working along with a rapist so that he could **** her earlier or easier, it was just too much.

To be fair, Jonathan had never thought of Mauve in that way, she was someone he wouldn't mind introducing to his parents and he honestly enjoyed her company, especially at those boring afternoons when he forced himself to do charity so he could compensate for that awful feeling that was always lurking at the bottom of his conscience. He liked Mauve and he believed his parents would like her also, he indeed thought of her as a nice girl, she was naive and he was well aware of her little childish feelings toward himself, but to Jonathan, she remained this innocent and refreshing little girl that lived next door to him.

For now.

Jonathan had seen just who was sitting with Mauve and her little group of friends, and despite not truly believing that that girl could or would ever open her mouth, he still had enough reasoning inside of himself to not throw that possibility away completely.

[M, u okay? plz answer me]

He got no answer from her, but his worries lied on mostly on her wellbeing than the possibility of Skye having outed him to those people because if he was honest to himself, he knew that the damage he did was not something anyone liked to talk about and most people simply preferred to pretend it never happened. And besides that, Jonathan truly considered Mauve as someone nice, and Jonathan hardly ever considered someone as worthy of his magnificent presence, even those boys he hanged around at school were a hard pass for him outside of that building. Yet, Mauve remained quiet and nowhere to be seen.

Jordan knew that Mauve would be feeling bad and he knew of her little habits as a child, seen as she refused to come back before lunch was done and the fact that she was nowhere to be seen while he walked to their shared class, he began to truly worry about her. Jordan believed Mauve would be hiding somewhere, trying to digest what she had heard or forget it, one of those two options, but he was not so sure about where she could be hiding and if she had decided to hide somewhere he could not enter, like the girl's bathroom, then his hands would be tied. However, there was someone else that loved Mauve and wanted the best for her and Jordan knew he could count on her if needed.

As soon as his class ended he ran to find Karen and warn her about Mauve's continuous disappearance, and contrary to Jordan, Karen had a much easier way to solve things. She just fished her phone out of her pocket and texted Mauve. This time Mauve answered, she needed a friend at that moment, but she felt no need for Jordan, she wanted to speak with another girl and one that had not been sullied by Jonathan's dark evil.
