Hundred and four. An amazing girl
Monalissa looked at Elena for a while, not saying a word to her. Elena smiled secretly in schadenfreude at what she had done. It was already very humiliating that she was bundled to this place. Spiting them against each other was the best thing she could do for her master in this state.
"Elena" Monalissa called, her voice calm and collected. Even Cobra and Milky who were standing behind were shocked. This should have been an explosive news for Monalissa. Even a mind-shattering one for her. However, she was so calm as though Elena had just blown smoke into the air.
Elena raised her head, looking at Monalissa through her weary eyes.
"Yes? Do you believe me now?" Elena sneered, in a cracked voice.
"Yes. I do believe you. You don't have any reason to tell a lie here. But the thing is...I don't care. I see what you're doing. How did you know that my master knows my identity? You have been here for days now...so obviously you don't know anything. Are you trying to create a bridge?" Monalissa questioned, her brows raised mockingly.
"You really don't know something Monalissa. He was the man that enslaved you and hid your true identity from you. Shouldn't you at least hate him?" Elena questioned back, her clavicle almost visible out of anger. She couldn't accept it that Monalissa was reacting in the opposite of what she had imagined. She's supposed to have stormed off while yelling at Ezekiel for hiding such a thing from her.
"Calm down Elena. You will get really old if you continue growling at me" Monalissa taunted.
"You!" Elena almost swallowed her tongue. Monalissa was really a handful. How did Elijah fall in love with such a woman? Or was this the charm he also saw and fell for her? Elena was already at the edge.
Monalissa sauntered towards her, her feet hitting the floor noiselessly. She strolled around Elena, stroking the latter's neck with her well clipped nails.
"Hate him? Of course. I hate him to the core! I hate him because he's the devil himself. I hate him for a lot of things but, I also love him for a lot of things. Our business is something you shouldn't mind. If he doesn't want to tell me...then let him be. He is looking for the perfect timing. Even if he told me, I wouldn't remember a thing, which you Elena are aware of. Your tactics won't work on me, and they never will. Just stay here and pray you see the light of day tomorrow. If you do, you can then go back to your master...and cry to him" Monalissa lectured. She gave Elena a gentle tap on the shoulder and began walking out of the room. Cobra and Milky followed, their respect for Monalissa taking a new height.
From where he sat in the eagle's eyes, he saw her tackle Elena with such demureness and intelligence. He realized what an amazing girl Monalissa was. He fell in love with her, over again and over again.
The door to the eagle's eyes was pushed open, and the trio walked in. Monalissa went to stand beside Ezekiel, her face devoid of any expression. Ezekiel sighed within. In as much as she didn't show any concern towards what Elena said, he knew that it bugged her. He swallowed and turned to Kim.
"Kim, get the car ready. We're leaving for the Alpha gardens" he ordered.
"Yes Boss" Kim replied and left to do as he was told.
Cobra came forward and stood in front of the big screen, his eyes fixed on the coordinates.
"How many hours before Camille and Suga land?" Monalissa asked.
"Ten minutes" Cobra replied.
Monalissa's eyes widened in shock. "I know they didn't go with a rocket" Monalissa said with a shallow chuckle in her voice.
"Alpha airlines has the best aircrafts you could ever think of" Cobra boasted, trying to get credit for himself, while sparing their Boss a little glance.
Monalissa eyed Ezekiel who also had his eyes on her the entire time. Monalissa felt her cheeks turn hot at the sight of his heated gaze.
"Then, we'll wait till she returns" Monalissa said, not tearing her eyes from his.
"No Walker, you need to get home" Ezekiel said.
"Camille is coming back. I need to welcome her. I was the one who made her go there. At the very least, i should wait for her to come home" Monalissa stated.
Ezekiel's eyes turned to slits, his hands clenching into a hard fist. The whole room was thrown into an ice cellar.
"Okay. Till she returns then" Ezekiel said. He walked out of the room, leaving Monalissa with the others.
Monalissa looked at his departing back, her heart twisting in sadness.
Milky held her hands in hers, in an attempt of reassuring her. "It's fine. The Boss likes you, so, he won't be mad at you for long" Milky said.
"But I'm also mad at him. That I had to learn about something so candid from a stranger... it's painful Milky" Monalissa her voice choking with tears.
Milky sighed and squeezed her hands gently. "You both can talk about it later. Don't let the whole thing weigh you down. Elena was just being bitchy" Milky said.
Monalissa nodded and faced the screen. "Let's wait for Camille" she said.
Ezekiel walked into his office and settled down on the sofa. He closed his eyes, weariness taking over him. He had been up and about the whole day, both his body and mind. He knew that Monalissa was mad at him and her being insistent on waiting for Camille, was the way she was using to tell him that. He heaved a deep sigh and closed his eyes, throwing his head backwards. Some minutes later, Kim walked into the office, announcing the readiness of the car.
Ezekiel raised his head. "Ok. It will wait till Camille comes back" he said.
"Okay Boss" Kim said.
"How's it going with the doctor I asked you to bring?" Ezekiel asked.
"We found him already. And, he is already on the move. He would be in Moon country by tomorrow morning" Kim reported.
Ezekiel nodded. "Well done Kim. Keep that Rex of a traitor alive. Tomorrow, I will decide what to do with him" Ezekiel said. "Also", Ezekiel continued. "Don't forget to bring Luke to the gardens tomorrow. The other girl can also come, Monalissa would love it if she came".
"I understand it Boss" Kim replied.
