Prologue 21 (Part 2) Examination Start (1) and Course Trial (1).

The Pixie, Spirit and Fairy had landed to see not running tracks but areas with floating markers that had numbers all scattered all over their University Institution. Some markers were halfway across the school while others where closer; they had been set at random. Thus, these three participants threw their head about before making any movements, speeding in all forms – Ball of Glass, Flying, and Teleportation – respectively. Zlai Dfon who entered first went to number 8 as she had been one of the early ones and her movement was the fastest, Jagonu Nanhor reached the track just before Kazu Nini went in.

They ran through an empty canopy that was under the floating marker of which she found her feet landing on a track that was more of an endless stretch of cavern road immediately she passed under the marker. She appeared to have been smoothly transferred and transited into some sort of bridge that had a chasm on all sides. From the clouds rained water, the under of the bridge that had markings of a track rose lighting, from the painful left was a blizzard and from the extreme right was scorching heat.

Her head saw all that was and smiled, tapping the flying Spirit ahead of her, "good luck."

"Same to you."

And with that, as she ran, she saw her friend disappearing before her eyes and then a path appearing upon the field that she progressed as if it grew out of the track.

The first that popped up in her eyesight was a long jump course. The ground drew a line, sand appeared out of thin air and on the other side was land for her to arrive on. She continued her pace that was a full second behind Instant Step, and when she reached the point of jumping that was just before the sand, she decided to add Ko-jin. The rules had never said that she should use Ko-jin in this race, but when she did, the length of the sand pit increased and she jumped in shock over the lengthened, shallow sand pit. When Kazu Nini landed on her toes and had to wave herself to the land, she had a conjecture. Continuing the race and seeing a court for high jump, pop out like rising bubbles in a hot pot; the matrass, the bar and the runway; she braced herself for this one deciding not to use Ko-jin this time.

She passed it, but not so barely as she had been keeping fit even before she came to school, and this one did not increase its dimensions at all. She chuckled before looking to the distance and seeing someone jump so high until they reached the clouds where the rain intensified on him until he hit the ground clutching his belly and wailing in pain from the intensity of the precipitation which seemed to hurt him more than his back oin the ground.

Kazu Nini was running on the course, as she took note of what happened and then the track twisted until she was upside down. Surprisingly she did not fall as she saw the track mold out a Pole Vault course.

She then grabbed the pole as she ran and stabbed it into the ground where she saw a small square, vaulting her body over the bar that seemed unfairly high. Boosting herself with Divine Energy, she reached into the depths of the rain and felt precipitation that could have been at least a ton was the peak of her arc and as she fell unto the matrass her shaking boy was hurting tremendously.

The young Pixie imagine how the course would set itself for the Spirit as the track once again curved to normal then she suddenly had to leap across platforms after the ground unannouncedly opened up to reveal the crackling thunder unnaturally rising up, as if its orientation was flipped, below. After jumping off tracks which she did not dare to use Ko-jin for, the track once again literally twisted to the left so that this time, she almost fell into the chilling ice. Her center of gravity and natural compass oriented her surroundings to acclimatize so that she did not feel like she was uncomfortably hanging off the left of the track course but it felt like the ice was truly beneath her feet and she was falling for half a second. Hand holds grew out of the ceiling above her head and she swung her body in certainty, until there was a gap in the tracks and the platforms that appeared started rapidly dropping. A slight delay of time lay between them as the first one had been descending first into the cold.

The Pixie had to swing herself in preparation, so that when she jumped into the platform, she successfully avoided the airspace over the first platforms that had fallen into the ice and broken back up into ice shards which flew back up and missed peltering her in her arc of a wide jump. When she landed, she realized the platform was unstable and slippery. So, she unwillingly used Ko-jin to find a foot hold and give her more of a chance to jump successfully, making her land on the next platform, although on all fours and after space seemed to have stretched the distance between the next floating footholds. The range of the frigid cold air also increased so that she started feeling her body go numb. She braced herself for another leap and she watched ice that grew on her in a layer shatter to pieces.

Kazu Nnini managed a few jumps like that but when she saw the distance of the last one and the handholds on the upside-down track, she charged her soles with Ko-jin. And in the milliseconds of her calculation, ice reached her that began from -50 degree Celsius and for her cultivation that was what could only start her feet going numb, then it went up to -100 in a spike as she crouched. Now with a thick layer of ice on her body she started moving upwards in another spike that made the ice -150 degree Celsius. And when she was about sailing through the air, a pain blossomed from her numbness that made all the veins on her body reveal themselves on the surface and become purple. She had to ferociously express herself out of a momentary lapse in consciousness.

"ROAR!"

The young Pixie then grabbed the handholds and swung like a monkey as she was grateful for her Mental Energy before the track made a full 180 degrees. So that, instead of returning back to normal orientation that would put her back on a straight path, her scalp faced the burning heat that spared no time to spray a volley of arrows. Forgetting the ones that melted into the road she ran on – surprisingly not even burning it – but spreading waves of heat that climbed slower than the terrifying ice of before which still lingered in her shaking bones. The heat made her surroundings hazy before the ground started burning. And at some point, her foot left bloody prints in the ground until the ground started melting and turning into goo, lava goo bubbling from the course track. All this time, Kazu Nini had been evading projectiles, and what bothered her was that apart from the tremorous chill in her body, she almost felt as if none of it hurt and then a word came to her mind.

Frostbite.

The young Pixie grit her teeth as she knew that she had to finish this before anything surprising happened. And just as if some entity had jinxed her, the ground opened up to a lava pit that was a form of long jump. The sweat had long clung her burning attire to her skin, her lips were parched until they cracked, and smoke flagged from her pores and textile. Bracing her teeth, she leapt over the whole thing and her hair paid the price, along with fringes of her sleeves and the tails of her coat once more. Kazu Nini landed and sprinted a while after, body still shaking. She met a normal track eventually and almost disturbingly ran until the track twisted and went back to normal orientation.

This time, as she ran, she noticed growing pain on her hands and saw 3 spears where suddenly in her hands while her other was empty and up, up above, she also noticed bats that hung targets on their mouth, 3 like the number of spears on her hands. When she was about to send Ko-jin to her wounds so that the pain of the frostbite would not distract her, out of the floor grew a golem that was at least 50 meters high.

The young Pixie grit her teeth and left her body to heal naturally so that every time she ran or touched anything she would either feel unimaginable pain or wounds will pop out blood. Kazu Nini waited for it to roar before throwing a spear to its left feet that pinned it to the ground. She saw the flesh tear but the madness to crush her with its left palms had not diminish as it braced its feet to lunge towards her still. Thus, she took an aim for its right knee cap which got impaled successfully and brought it down finally. Now, she had to gamble as she ran on its' crashing form; leaping from its hand to its head and finally charged Ko-jin in her feet to launch herself into the air. The price of which made the horizontal distance of the bats that oscillated in a straight line to increase, but happily their patterns of swinging to and for like a pendulum did not stop.

So, when Kazu Nini aimed, ignoring the splattering blood from the inflammation that the frostbite had caused, she screamed and hurled the Spear in her hand which nailed all 3 targets dead center before she landed. It was only when she had hit an altitude of at least 100 feet that she once again noticed that the peltering rain had substantial weight to it – growing from 20 kg to 900 kg by the time she was at the peak of her arc - But her growing fatigue from the forced landing, her blood loss and the strain she had felt from before caught up to her as she did not see that the ground opened up, which she fell into as if it had been waiting all the time to welcome her in, gladly. And if a rope attached to the now upside-down track did not unfurl, she would have lost as her hand snatched it out of reflex.

It dangled her a couple of times before it made snapping sounds which brought her out of her haze of pain. Kazu Nini grit her teeth in shame that she could not just simply ignore it. Pulling herself forward, she threw her person on the next rope that got ruined the longer she swung on it and finally snapped after she jumped to the next. After a few more swings as the feeling of lightening and sparks had created another mesh of uncomfortable pain in her lower body as she had been swinging, she stopped at the last rope and looked around until she saw a ringed hole on the track itself. Seeing as this rope was half gone, she gritted her teeth and pushed through so that as she jumped, the rope snapped at the exact same second that she left it.
