Chapter One: Nicole

It has been ten years since Katelyn and I ran away from home, and let's just say running into a cyborg wolf was definitely not on my schedule today. I was late for class at the Forest Sectors schoolhouse, which was huge by the way, when I had turned the corner and ran straight into a cyborg wolf making me bounce off and tumble across the ground scraping my scarred shoulder and the cyborg to stumble back.

            "Hey, are you okay?" A voice with a bit of static to it said.

        I looked up to find a face that was made half out of metal with a bright purple cat-like electronic eye, she wore a t-shirt that said 'I DON'T BITE' and wore shorts with WH and a lit dynamite stick on them. She her left back leg was made of metal so was her right front paw and was missing a large section of her tail. Her non-electronic eye was azure and had a scar across it and had a tooth that stuck out from her lower lip, she was also pretty huge and had white fur, to me she was pretty terrifying.

           "I'm alright," I said with a slight smile trying to seem nice.

           "Here let me help you up," She said, holding out her metallic paw which I took despite being scared.

        She pulled me up with ease, making me accidentally stumble into her again.

           "Whoops, sorry, my name is Nicole, Nicky for short, what's your name?" I asked with a smile.

           "I'm Dynamite, half wolf, half cyborg, your fear of me is decreasing according to my scanners," She said smiling back.

            "Scanners?" I said in confusion.

            "Oh my electronic eye can scan your vitals, health, former and present injuries and for hostiles or friends nearby," Dynamite explained, "from what my injury scanner is telling me you have a slightly bleeding scratch on your scarred shoulder, may I see it?"

             "Okay," I said, letting her roll my sleeve up making her gasp a bit at the scars  on the shoulder.

              She reaches into her pocket to pull out a band aid and put it on my bleeding scratch.

            "I'm guessing you have school at the moment, i'll take you there," Dynamite said rolling my sleeve back down.

        I walked right beside her as we walked towards the school hallway and knocked the schoolhouse door, my teacher Mrs. Wilson, opened the door and let us in.

             "Nicole where have you been!? I was about to mark you absent!" Mrs. Wilson exclaimed.

             "With me, she took a tumble after running into me, please excuse her from her tardiness, it was my fault," Dynamite explained making Mrs. Wilson's eyes widen in surprise.

             "Okay, but this isn't going to happen again, go sit down Nicole," Mrs. Wilson said to me and turning to talk to dynamite.

          I went to my normal seat in the four people group with my best friends/honorary family Barley, Lyra and Lyra's twin brother Nico were. Barley was wearing his red hoodie and a shirt with a star on it underneath and some jeans, Lyra was wearing a camo leather jacket, a maroon shirt underneath and camo shorts, and Nico was wearing a blue and turquoise t-shirt, with a fanny pack like mine but camo ,where he kept extra pairs of glasses in case he broke a pair. 

              "Psst, Nicole, who was that, why did Mrs. Wilson listen to her and seem kinda shocked, she's literally our Alpha's mate," Lyra whispered to her.

              "That's Dynamite, she's half wolf, half cyborg," I told them and they looked at me in astonishment.

               "You met the Dynamite, the Wolf-Cyborg, don't you know who she is," Nico exclaimed pushing his glasses up his nose since they were slipping down.

               "What do you mean?" I asked completely confused.

               "Remember the Bombing of Forest Sector-57 three years ago?" He asked.

               "Of course I do, how could I forget that it was literally eight sectors away from us!" I said.

               "Dynamite was the only survivor of the bombing, they reconstructed her body as half cyborg after it was badly damaged, I can't believe you made friends with her Nicky," He told me excitement and disbelief in his voice. 

               "Is there a problem back there?" Mrs. Wilson asked us when she had finished negotiating with Dynamite.

               "No ma'am," We answered at the same exact time.

            After school we headed of to the forest, we have our own spot to hang out there,  we hung out and messed around, when suddenly a huge she-wolf leaped through the bushes and pounced on to Nico who let out a cry of pain.

               "Nico!" We cried out.

               "Let him go!" I snarled and unsheathed my claws, being half lion I had the ability to sheath my claws.

          Lyra and Barley standing shoulder to shoulder with me, the she-wolf looked up, suddenly I recognised her face. I hadn't seen that face in ten years, her snarl dropped as she recognised me.

                "MAMA!!!" I exclaimed happily and tackled her knocking her off of Nico.

                "N-Nicole, it really is you, I thought I'd never see you again," She said nuzzling my neck like she did when I was little.

                "Can somebody explain please?" Barely asked looking at us with his natural stupid 'I'm so confused' look.

                "This is my mom, Eclipse," I told them and they let out a gasp.

           A roar of fury rang through the forest making us all jump in fear.

                "What, no, who was that," Lyra asked.

                "Katia, come we must run as fast we can she'll close in on us soon," My mom said but it was too late and a huge lioness pinned me down with a chuckle.

                "So you're alive, and stronger but still too weak to fight back," Katia sneered.

                "Katia please, don't hurt her, I'll come back to the Lions' Roar with you," My mom pleaded.

                "You should've thought of that before you ran Eclipse, but I'll still take you back after I kill Nicole," Katia growled.

                "Hey, pick on someone your own size," A voice with a bit of robotic static, Dynamite's voice, said.

                "Who said that?" Katia growled.

                "I did, and now get away from her!" Dynamite growled slamming into Katia and holding her down with one paw showing immense strength and making Katia growl, "I thought you said you wanted her to fight back, well I placed a tracker on that band aid on her shoulder that shows me the same thing that goes on around her as if I was really there, so she fought back by calling me to her side, Nicky are you hurt."

               "Y-yes, I-I think s-so D-Dynamite," I said my voice a bit shaky.

               "Good, now, I suggest you run before I rip your throat out," She growled into Katia's ear.

            Dynamite lifted her paw and Katia ran off, we all looked at Dynamite in astonishment. I walked up to her and looked her straight in the eyes, well at least tried too.

               "You've been spying on me?" I said skeptically.

               "I-I th-thought," She took a deep breath and sighed, "I just wanted to keep you safe."

               "Thank you," I said hugging her making her a bit flustered.

           A rustle in the bushes told another person was approaching, soon enough a soldier, Barley's older brother, Husker burst through the leaves with a look of urgency.

                "Nicole, it's your sister, Katelyn, her mission was compromised, she's been captured by Rose Roar, leader of the Lions' Roar," He said immediately tears filled my eyes.
