First Ascender Tomb[2].
Riley felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. This was it. The mural told the story of the First Ascender, the one who had come to this place and had been buried within its walls.
He moved further into the cathedral, the murals becoming more numerous as he descended into the crypts below. The air grew colder, the smell of damp earth and rotting wood filling his nostrils.
He could feel the weight of the past pressing down on him, the ancient memories of those who had once walked these halls now lost to time.
And then, he saw it.
At the far end of the crypt, beneath a stone archway, lay a large, ornate tomb. The stone slab was covered in moss and grime, its edges worn smooth by the hands of countless visitors. The markings on the tomb were old, but unmistakable.
This was the resting place of the First Ascender.
