Finding Loophole.
As Riley and Eleanor crept out of the hidden chamber, the faint sound of voices echoed through the tunnel, growing more distinct. The priest and padre were drawing near. Every footstep and hushed whisper carried a weight of authority, a sense of danger Riley knew they couldn't afford to face head-on—at least not yet.
He turned to Eleanor, his eyes sharp. They shared a brief, wordless exchange. Eleanor's instincts were as finely tuned as his, and she needed no further instruction. With silent steps, they slipped back through the tunnel, retreating into the dark passage. The tunnel's walls seemed to close in on them as they moved, the air thick with dampness and the musty scent of decay. The only sound now was their careful breathing as they put more distance between themselves and the cathedral's shadow.
