Osiris spoke slowly and enunciated each word clearly for his children to repeat. Kamila tried her best not to stutter as she echoed his words back. Lord Osiris smiled proudly after hearing her do so and continued his lesson.
Lord Osiris taught his children about the manipulation of True Essence and the creation of magical arrays. Concentrated True Essence was called true or pure force and was dangerous but could augment energy and revitalize other forces. A dualist trained in both forms was a real elite truist. Transformation Masters could transform energy into products.
Transformation Masters were all truists who studied different truths, and one must possess an origin body to comprehend magic force. This meant that a Saint could be a Truist, but to become a Transformation Master, they would have first to become a sage.
Lord Osiris continued to explain these concepts to his children, enthused to help them understand their world. He knew his main wife fancied his daughter as a potential successor. To become an Alchemy Master, understanding the secrets of the soul is crucial, so he made sure to elucidate.
'How magical indeed!' Jody thought in awe.
After each explanation, the siblings were expected to repeat what was said - a tedious task that Jody was all too familiar with. Even though his father's repeated insistence on understanding these concepts made it feel like he didn't take him seriously, Jody knew this wasn't the case. Osiris wanted him to learn accurately and deeply so that his knowledge would be far-reaching.
Curious about what this new world had to offer, Jody took in all the sights surrounding him. He realized that although he had died tragically, his new life was a chance for a fresh start and tremendous potential. The old Eastern proverb "fortune is met through misfortune" seemed more meaningful than before.
Jody vowed to make something great out of this lifetime he had been given. Despite any obstacles thrown his way, he knew he could find success if he believed in himself. After all, he had managed to survive a catastrophe - an achievement which filled Jody with newfound confidence.
"Pops, why didn't you ever tell me about serenity crystals?" Jody wore an expression of injustice, which Osiris found perfectly adorable.
'What a persistent brat…' he mused silently.
Osiris had assumed this youngster had forgotten all about his fixation on serenity crystals. Still, after seeing him constantly stroking the multi-dimensional sound mirror, Osiris realized he may have been wrong.
"The rarity of these crystals is unique," replied Lord Osiris lightheartedly.
He didn't even bother to deny his deception.
"Where do they come from, Pop?" Jody's big blue eyes revealed his naivety as they stared into his father's soul.
The boy clearly didn't care as long as he was given a crystal. For one moment, Lord Osiris deliberated how much to tell him and what to give him. Ultimately, he thought it best not to overcomplicate matters for the child.
"Places that are very peaceful and tranquil—where there is hardly any hustle or bustle present," replied the Lord.
But there was something Lord Osiris didn't say; most of the serene energy in Gaea can be found in the wake of death. Finding anything more silent or peaceful than one's demise is hard.
"If you want to find caves with high concentrations of these gems, look in places where serene energy is strong," boasted Lord Osiris solemnly. "This father of yours has a small collection, by chance. I will part with one for you, little pup."
Jody started laughing and hailed joyfully, "Pops is so cool!"
"Coolest dad ever!" chimed Kamila.
In amusement, Jody snickered and cheered, "Pops is the coolest!"
"The coolest, the coolest!" echoed Kamila.
Osiris couldn't help but smile, his mood improving significantly. Looking at his smile, one would never imagine he had conducted a massacre the previous night.
After the siblings recited all the information to their father, Lord Osiris was ready to dismiss them for the night, reminding Kamila that she had a meeting with the counsel the following day. The young princess groaned a little, begrudgingly acknowledging the duties that came along with her noble lineage.
As their mothers left the study, Jody couldn't help but glance back at his father's extensive collection of rare and valuable items. He had always been fascinated by the Lord's various trinkets and treasures. Still, his attention was particularly drawn to a small, glowing, seven-color orb sitting on a pedestal in the corner. There was something rather startling about it.
"Hey, Pops, what's that?" he asked, pointing at the orb.
Lord Osiris followed Jody's gaze and chuckled. "That is a chaotic sphere, my boy. It contains some of the most potent energy in the world."
"A chaos sphere?" Jody repeated in awe.
"Yes, and it's hazardous," warned Lord Osiris.
Jody's eyes widened as his father continued to explain the power of the chaos sphere and the potential devastation it could cause in the wrong hands. But despite the warning, Jody couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at the thought of harnessing such power.
He made a mental note to ask his father more about the chaos sphere; above it, he saw the most mysterious thing he had seen in his life.
[Twilight Orb]
'Value: 2,500 stars.'
There was a small transparent golden window above the orb. It looked like one of the system prompts from a video game, yet here it was in reality. He would've freaked out if Jody were as old as he looked. But after falling asleep in hell and awakening in a more magical hell, Jody wasn't so easy to surprise anymore.
"Interesting..." Jody mused to himself.
As the children continued to bask in their father's warm aura, Lord Osiris' thoughts drifted back to the previous night's events. Enora's betrayal had left him seething with anger and frustration. He had always been a stickler for loyalty, but he never thought someone so close to him would deceive him.
The thought of her betrayal made him clench his fists tightly until his knuckles turned white. But he couldn't let his emotions get the best of him. There were bigger things he needed to focus on - like training his children to become strong Truists.
"Josiah, Kamila, it's time to get some rest," he said, his voice softening. "We have a big day tomorrow. We will continue our lessons then."
The siblings nodded eagerly, their minds buzzing with excitement. As they walked out of the study, they hugged their father tightly, their love for him palpable.
As Jody and Kamila made their way to their chambers, Lord Osiris sat back in his chair, lost in thought. He knew that he had a long road ahead of him. The path of Truth was not easy to tread, and the dangers ahead were numerous. But he was determined to prepare his children for whatever lay in store.
