Last day alive

Ivo's mind whirled, it took him a moment to make sense of what had just happened. His lungs were burning inside his chest, and he was becoming aware of small aches and pains over his body. Guilherme was a bigger man than him, if it wasn't for the sheer desperation fuelling him, Ivo didn't know if he'd have the strength to overpower him.

He lay crumpled on the floor now, bleeding from the corner of his mouth.

Ivo could only guess at how much damage he had done.

His blood still sizzled with adrenaline. Despite the shock he was glad he had knocked out Guilherme. His neck still smarted where his hands had touched him. Everything about him reminded him of Kuroda; the smugness, the firm belief that people where his to do what he wanted with as long he was paying them.

He would never forget how powerless he'd felt while watching Kuroda whip Davi. That corrosive despair would stay with him forever.
