“Wait, wait, wait!” Elain slowly lifted her hands into the air to show her surrender, barely moving her head to glance back at Brotte. He was lowered beside her, basically stalked his way to her side to give her one of the two blankets he was given. The other one must have been given to Milo who stayed back by the front tires. One of her hands went to sit on the native’s chest now and the other reached towards them in a ‘hold on’ motion. “He’s with us!”
Neither of them lowered their weapons. “State your site, name, and business!” It must have been a male that said it, but it was hard to tell which of the two spoke. This was a strong voice and not what she remembered of them. They were always smiling and willing to lend a hand wherever it may have been needed. Their voices were always cheerful and a smile was always on their faces.
