Chapter 4 - Saving

Maddy POV

I was in DC when Red called me about protecting Restler and Audrey, I remembered this episode to which I said I would help.

I got there to see the crash as I see Audrey getting out the car as Tanida and Restler are fighting as Tanida was aiming his gun at Audrey as I pushed her out of the way.

Maddy: You okay!

Audrey: Yeah I'm good.

Restler: Audrey!

Restler came running over as I pulled my gun out to see Tanida is gone as I got up and left.

I walked to call Red.

Red: Yes?

Maddy: It's done, Audrey is safe and Tanida is long gone.

Red: Great.

Maddy: Red, I need to be back in LA now so keep them out of trouble.

Red: I'll try.

I hung up to walk away as I got in my car to drive to the airport to head back to Hetty as I've been gone for too long.

I arrived in LA as I headed to my house as I got a call from an old friend as I smiled.

Maddy: How come you only call when you need something or you have that itch?

Jennifer: Come on Maddy, you know you've missed me.

Maddy: Yes that's true, so your on your way?

Jennifer: More like pulling into your drive way.

I looked outside to see her come to the door.

Maddy: Hey beautiful.

Jennifer: Hello my gorgeous angel.

I let her in as I went to the kitchen for to glasses and some wine as I went to the living room.

Jennifer : So you just got back into town right?

Maddy: Yes, I've got to go into work tomorrow.

Jennifer: Well let's make up for old times.

Maddy: Let's.

We made our way upstairs so I can enjoy the rest of my night.

Next Day

I was called in to the office as my mother is not answering her phone.

I remembered the shooting range when we lost an agent so I drove over as the place was swarmed but then I remembered Renko as I walked over to him to look at hill noticing the sniper as I ran to Renko pushing out the way as I was shot in the back.

Kenzi: Oh my god, Maddy!

Sam: Get down!

As everything was going black, I took the bullet for the team, they owe.

Timeskip - Hospital

I woke up with a patch on my chest as I see the doctors.

Maddy: What happened?

Doctor: You were shot, the bullet didn't pierce anything vital, it was a through in through, you just need rest.

Maddy: Thanks Doc.

The Doctor nodded and left as I see Kenzi walk in with Renko.

Kenzi: Hey Maddy.

Maddy: Hey, and let me just say you owe me one.

Renko: Your right we do, thanks for the save.

Maddy: No problem but you guys go and finish the case, the bullet didn't hit anything so I'm good.

Kenzie: You sure?

Maddy: Yeah, you two go and get the jackass who shot me.

They both nodded to leave as I saw my cellphone on the table to dial mom.

Mom: Hello?

Maddy: Mom it's me.

Mom: Oh thank goodness your alright.

Maddy: Mom listen, Red gave me intel on an old somebody who squared off with Callen, The Chameleon.

Mom: He's tne one who shot you?

Maddy: Yeah and Red also said that Hunter has been taken by the Chameleon.

Mom: Okay, good job but what about the family gunrunners?

Maddy: It's a diversion, they were never important just a distraction so finish up with them and find the Chameleon.

Mom: Right.
