**Chapter 139: Join Forces to Fight the Jonin!**

Mitarashi's face paled slightly upon realizing that Tsunade had left them alone on this journey. They'd chosen to stick close to her for added protection, especially given their impressive performance in the Chunin Exams. But now, they were faced with the very real threat of a Jonin-led ambush, and they'd have to rely solely on each other's strength.

"Everyone, keep moving forward," Reiki said, voice steady. "We're chunin now, and it's time we show them what that means. If they think we're easy targets, let's prove them wrong."

He glanced at Aburame Kaiyo, who confirmed, "We've got six hostiles, one of them a Jonin. I couldn't tell which village."

"Alright," Reiki nodded, formulating a plan. "Shisui, you and Nozuki take on the Jonin. The rest of us will focus on the other Chunin. Remember, there's a skilled medical ninja behind you!" Reiki's encouragement rallied the group, and in an instant, they vanished into the shadows.

A minute later, the enemy team gathered at a clearing, discussing their ambush.

"The Konoha brats have gone into hiding," one masked ninja reported to the Jonin in charge.

The Jonin shrugged. "They're not the only ones eyeing these Konoha Chunin. Let them hide—eventually, other groups will come after them too, and we'll pick them off then."

But just then, eleven shadows materialized around them, encircling the six ambushers. 

"So, this is Konoha's newest batch of Chunin?" the Jonin sneered, unfazed by the sight of his young attackers. "Think you can handle someone who's seen real war? You're just kids playing at being ninja."

Mitarashi didn't respond to the taunts. Instead, he gave the signal, and his team sprang into action.

"Mind Transfer Jutsu!" Yamanaka Kaizo's jutsu shot forth, taking control of one of the enemy Chunin, forcing him into the line of fire as kunai hurtled towards him. With the advantage of numbers, Konoha's Chunin launched a barrage of coordinated jutsu—Wind Style, Fire Style, and a flurry of kunai and shuriken attacks.

Meanwhile, Hayate used his short sword to deliver swift, precise strikes at close range, keeping his opponents off balance.

On the other side of the clearing, the Jonin was faced with Shisui, Nozuki, and Mitarashi, who had locked him down.

"You three really think you can take me?" the Jonin scoffed, hurling a scroll into the air. It unfurled, releasing a torrent of senbon needles aimed at the trio. Simultaneously, he formed seals, summoning his most powerful earth jutsu. "Earth Release: Roof Breaker Technique!"

The ground exploded as jagged stones shot out, tearing up the earth beneath their feet. 

Nozuki charged forward, chakra coursing through her fists as she smashed the erupting rocks into pieces. Her powerful strikes allowed her to reach the Jonin, fists glowing with raw strength.

"Wait, she's using Tsunade's monstrous strength technique?" Shisui gasped, recognizing the familiar moves. But this was the first time Nozuki had ever used it in a fight.

"Body Flicker Technique!" Shisui added, appearing in flashes around the Jonin, his blade a silver blur as he attacked from multiple directions, creating dozens of afterimages that kept the Jonin off balance.

As the Jonin focused on blocking Shisui's strikes, Mitarashi leaped in with precise hand seals, casting a lightning-charged Water Style jutsu. "Water Style: Flowing Breakthrough!"

The Jonin, despite his experience, began to falter as the Konoha trio's seamless teamwork closed off his escape routes.

"These kids… they're stronger than they look!" he muttered in frustration. Even his Earth Style armor couldn't fully withstand their constant attacks. Seeing no other way out, he focused his chakra into his fists, thick rock-like armor encasing them. He swung a powerful punch at Nozuki, who met it head-on.

The impact threw her back, blood spilling from her lips. But before the Jonin could recover, she launched herself at him again, relentlessly striking his defenses with chakra-empowered fists.

*This kid fights like she's got nothing to lose,* the Jonin thought, alarmed. Even though he had the upper hand in strength, her fearless onslaught was beginning to wear him down.

"You're tough, but I'm a Jonin. Your punches won't save you!" he taunted, gathering his armor back around his fists for a decisive strike.

"That's what you think," Shisui muttered, seizing the moment. With the Jonin's armor focused on his hands, Shisui's blade found its mark, drawing blood with each swift cut. Sensing a chance, Mitarashi unleashed her final jutsu.

"Lightning Release: Purple Lightning!"

Waves of purple electricity coursed through the water pooled around the Jonin's feet, surging up through his body and paralyzing him with sheer voltage.

"Wh—what's happening?" he stammered, muscles locking up as the purple electricity crackled over him. 

Seizing the opportunity, Shisui drove his short blade straight into the Jonin's heart.

With a final sputter, the Jonin's body went limp, and he collapsed, defeated.

The remaining Chunin soon fell to the rest of the Konoha team's relentless attack. As the dust settled, Shisui and Nozuki regrouped with Reiki, who immediately began treating their wounds.

"That was… incredible teamwork, everyone," Shisui panted, smiling through his exhaustion.

Reiki, focused on healing Nozuki's injuries, grinned. "Looks like the new Konoha Chunin aren't kids to mess with after all."
