Report

Tsunade nodded at what Shino said and then looked at Kurenai. Kurenai understood what that meant and guided her students outside the office. Shizune went to the window and slid the window panes aside. The bat came in and hung upside down on the curtain rod.

"It's about time I receive a report now. I have been getting news of pirates moving in groups and a lot of stone shinobi presence around the land of water." Tsunade said as she untied the letter from the bat's legs.

She was about to turn around but the bat opened his mouth and a big scroll fell from his mouth. Shizune quickly caught the scroll and contrary from what she expected the scroll to become wet due to the bat's saliva, the scroll was dry and had no odor.

Shizune nodded at Tsunade's statement and said "I agree..the last report Yami sent us was about the village in the land of forests. I have sent 2 chunin squads there to maintain order there. I am already in talks with Shikaku to set up an outpost there so that the land of forest can also be managed by the hidden leaf. Having another dock for trading is a good thing and the land there is fertile."

"Yes, Shizune if Yami is able to build up friendly ties with the hidden mist then we will need the trade routes that connect the sea to the land of fire as well as forests. The only thing I am worried about is Yami's attitude. That kid doesn't do things the easy way. I hope this letter isn't a headache. Don't open the storage scroll until I have read the letter thoroughly." Tsunade said as she proceeded to open the letter.

At first, she was overwhelmed by the amount of content in the letter. She knew that Yami wouldn't waste time on mundane things which means multiple things have been happening and there is too much to report.

Shizune kept looking at Tsunade's expression as they changed with every passing second. It reminded her of the time when she received the letter from the 2 mercenaries. As Tsunade kept the letter back on the table she looked at the scroll in Tsunade's hand with a hint of anger in her eyes.

"What's the matter Tsuande-sama?" Shizune asked with a confused expression as she saw Tsunade stand up. Tsunade didn't say anything and just took the scroll from Shizune's hand and said "I am going to the medical research center. Bring Kakashi here. Tell him it's urgent.

"I will have Anbus bring them right away Lady Tsunade." Shizune said and was about to leave the office when Tsunade stopped her and said "No team Kakashi isn't ready...Shizune have Kurenai and Asuma come as well."

"How low can people go to accomplish their desires?" Tsunade muttered and left the office as well.

At that time Kakashi was sitting on a tree branch reading his favorite book 'makeout tactics' at the edge of a training ground. He looked to his side and saw his friend Guy doing handstand and running around the ground.

"Guy we gave our students time to rest that doesn't mean we train ourselves." Kakashi said which Guy completely ignored and continued running on his hands.

Kakashi then heard footsteps coming toward him looked to the side and said "Kurenai...looks like you are back from your mission. Asuma isn't here."

Kurenai understood that Kakashi was teasing her so she just ignored the comment and looked at Guy and shouted "This is about Yami."

Guy quickly stopped running and looked at Kurenai to confirm what he just heard. Guy jumped and stood back up straight on his legs.

"Hooo...now that was a youthful run...So is Yami back? It's already been 2 weeks since he been gone." Guy asked as he walked toward Kakashi and Kurenai. Kakashi also jumped down from the branch and stood beside Kurenai.

Kurenai shook her head and said "No he isn't back yet but he sent a messenger to Hokage-sama and she had me and my squad leave the office."

"If she did that means the mission he is on is an important one." Kakashi said.

"Yea that's obvious. He is the youngest Jonin in our village and his first mission is a solo mission." Kurenai said.

"You hear that Kakashi...my student became the youngest jonin in our village." Guy said as he pointed to himself in pride.

Kakashi facepalmed himself and said "Till when are you going to keep gloating on that Guy?"

Guy just laughed at that and was going to say something when an Anbu landed beside him.

"Kakashi Hatake and Kurenai Yuhi, you both have been called by Hokage-sama to the research center urgently." the Anbu said.

"Not me?" Guy asked the Anbu to which he shook his head saying no.

"Guy your squad just came back from a B-rank mission yesterday...I don't think you will be getting one anytime soon." Kakashi said.

"Yea I think that's for the best. Karin isn't ready yet to get into anything serious. Even though Neji and Lee are ready, their teamwork has suffered greatly as Yami was the one holding them together." Guy said. He wasn't discouraged by the fact that he wasn't called as he knew his strengths and weakness. The obvious fact that Kurenai and Kakashi were called meant that they didn't need strength but sensors and spying capable ninjas.

"Let's go without wasting any more time." Kurenai said and along with the Anbu and Kakashi they left.

Guy looked at their vanishing backs and said "Yami I hope that you aren't taking everything on your own shoulders." Guy then went back to doing handstands and running around the training ground.

The Anbu accompanied Kurenai and Kakashi to the entrance of the research center. As they reached they saw Asuma standing there as well.

The Anbu looked at them and said "All three of you should go inside. Hokage sama is already in there."

Just then the door opened and Shizune came out. "It's good that you guys are here. I don't know what Yami wrote in the report but Lady Tsunade looks pissed."

Asuma threw away the cigarette he had in his hand and his demeanor which had always been lazy also changed to that of being alert. He understood the seriousness of the situation through Shizune's words. They all entered the research center and Shizune guided them to one of the rooms. She knocked on the door and said "Lady Tsunade it's me, Shizune. I have Kakashi, Kurenai and Asuma with me."

"Come in" Tsunade's muffled voice came from inside the room.

As they entered they saw Tsunade wearing a surgical mask and gloves. In front of her were 8-10 containers made of glass kept on the table. Inside each glass box what looked like a human organ.

Shizune and the others were veteran shinobis so they didn't have any change in expression and walked to Tsunade while glancing at the glass containers.

"I will tell you what these are but first you need to get the entire context of this." Tsunade said and started explaining Yami's mission and what his report had said...

After about 10-15 mins the expressions on the faces of the jonins standing inside the room had changed for sure.

"How despicable of them to do this...and to think one of the great villages is taking their help?" Kurenai said with disgust on her face as she looked at the destroyed hearts that were kept on the table.

"Lady Tsunade can't we inform the other hidden villages about this? I am sure they will take action against the Tsuchikage Onoki for recruiting such people." Asuma asked. As the son of the previous Hokage, he knew that there were some things that the great villages equally hated and one of them was religions that practiced human sacrifices.

Tsunade nodded at Asuma's question and said "You are right Asuma and that was what Sensei or I would have done but according to Yami's report he doesn't have any evidence that the Tsuchikage himself ordered it in fact, Yami thinks that the higher-ups in the Hidden stone don't have any knowledge of this. Yami thinks this all is the doing of Jiro and the man who Yami called Priest Ji."

"Yami wouldn't make his assumptions based on baseless things so let's trust his judgment for now." Asuma said. He hadn't conversed or spent time with Yami but he knew that Yami wasn't a shinobi to make reckless statements.

"The mission to go provide assistance to a faction that could become our ally in the future was already tough enough but now he has to deal with this too. He got a pretty tough mission for his first solo mission." Kakashi said.

"Luckily the side Yami chose to side with is the Bloodline clans and not the Mizukage faction. But things are quite messy out there with the bloodline clans having 3 of our spies in custody, the Mizukage faction having Yami's accomplice in custody as him for leverage, and one of our spies leaking information." Kurenai summed it all up in a single sentence.

"Yes, that's why I have called the three of you here. I wanted to send Jiraya there but he already out training Naruto and I don't know where he is right now."
