Chapter 45

Kuzo was talking with the vice Kage of the sand village. Although he didn't blame them for being manipulated by the sand, Kuzo was nowhere as soft as the hokage.

"You guys, for betraying the leaf, are you certain you can take responsibility for your actions?" Kuzo said, putting one leg above the other.

"Hey, hey, show some respect here, you little brat. You think you're qualified to talk with me. Besides, you have destroyed a whole building. You should be the one to offer compensation."

Kuzo released his killing intent. "I'm qualified to kill you; that's all you should keep in mind. Besides, a weak village like yours doesn't have a Kage. You've seen my power. I want you to know that wasn't 100 percent. Even if you gang up on me and with some miracle manage to take me down, more than half of your force would be done for. The rest is questionable if they survive or not."

The more Kuzo spoke, the more intense the situation became in the room.

"And after that," Kuzo smiled and added. "And any nation could wipe you out just by declaring war. No. Just a group of S-rank missing-nins could do that."

"You want to go for a war!"

"Do you think I give a [expletive] about those who agreed to destroy my home even though they were deceived?" Kuzo opened his eyes widely. "I'm capable of destroying the whole sand. If not for children and civilians, I don't see any other reason to spare you. Make me see another."

"Calm down," said the vice Kage, holding his hands together and smiling. "In times of peace like this, we should appreciate it, don't you think?"

"I don't think," Kuzo said, "bring a paper and make offers why we should not go to war. I don't know. Something like a lot of money."

"But our village is already suffering financially."

"You don't have money. That's okay. Take a credit."

"I think I'll go and visit Konoha as well," said the vice as he held his pen and started writing.

Kuzo smiled. When this is over, it would be the perfect timing to deal with Danzo. But that, of course, after he'd make his money double or triple.

Kuzo and his team, plus Lady Kushina, were standing in the hokage's office.

Hiruzen was looking at Kushina with wide-opened eyes. He then looked at Kuzo, before looking at Kushina again.

Anko gave a brief report. Kuzo then said, "Since the caster of Edo Tensie died, Lady Kushina could stay in this world until we seal her, or we find a way to send her to the other life."

"And how exactly is that possible?" the hokage asked.

Kuzo raised his hand. "Leave that to me. I'm sure I can reach a solution."

The guys Orochimaru had summoned from the dead, albeit not as good as the first and the second hokage, were too good to be left sealed.

He could summon them anytime.

But he couldn't absorb their souls.

To do that, he thought if he could revive them somehow, before sending them to the afterlife. The Raikage was too good to be left.

He may not be able to do that now, but there were people in the franchise who could do that.

"Anyway, Kuzo-san here explained to me how to break the contract of Edo Tensie by reversing the hand signs. I'm now under the control of no one," Kushina said. "He said it was 14 years. I wonder how Naruto-san is doing."

"He's passing the chunin exam," said Hiruzen. "And he's doing well with his training."

"He's training. Who's teaching him?"

"Jiraiya."

"Jiraiya-huh? I hope he doesn't teach my son to be a pervert."

"Cough Cough. He was your late husband's teacher."

"That's right." Kushina nodded. "In fact, it was thanks to him we - "

The hokage was talking calmly, yet Kuzo could smell something was off.

The 3rd hokage had promised Kushina on her deathbed to take care of Naruto as his own child.

How would she feel to know that the 3rd only gave Naruto allowance and let him live on his own, that, and the whole village was casting him aside.

Kuzo silently laughed while looking at Hiruzen. "Anyway, I'll let you discuss things with Kushina."

"Yeah." The hokage exhaled a long sigh, "I'll call you later."

Kuzo left the hokage's office with his team.

"So what now?" Yamato asked.

Kuzo thought about it. This team originally was to get rid of Orochimaru, and they accomplished their mission.

"We're done," he replied, "We accomplished our missions."

"I know, I'm asking what you'll be doing from now on?" Yamato asked, "Personally, I'll be back to the black ops."

"I don't know what I'll do," Kuzo replied. In any case, when he gets rid of Danzo, he would be just a high-ranked jonin hanging around. "Maybe building my own clan."

Anko chuckled, "As if a brat like you can do that while you have a chunin exam to prepare for."

"Anyway, I'll be leaving first," Yamato said, before vanishing.

Kuzo rolled his eyes. He extended his hand to her chest and held one of her melons, drawing a stun with a blush on her cheeks.

"What are you doing?"

"We had a deal, remember. A deal without limits."

Anko exhaled a hot breath. "Are you going to do this every time to shut me up?"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Fine." She sighed, "Come by my room, and bring some drinks."

"What?" Was he at a legal age to drink?

"If you don't understand, you better not come." She said, winking, "You'll miss a good celebration."

"You're happy?" he asked her.

She nodded, "more than anything. You don't know what it's like to have nightmares every day for more than ten years thanks to a cursed seal."

He wrapped his hand around her shoulder, smiling and saying, "Why would anyone care about bad dreams if reality can turn good."

"That's what I'm saying now."
