Despair on the Bridge

Riku: I thank you for the full truth.

Haku: I only ask of a few things of you in return if possible. Remember to protect your loved ones they can't be replaced, please don't forget all of us kekkei genkai users from the mist, and please if you can do not harm Zabuza.

Riku: I understand.

Haku: Wait! You can't kill me I'm sorry.

Haku got to the closest mirror that wasn't destroyed and next thing he knew he saw was a mirror appeared near Zabuza and Haku came out of the mirror and that as when Kakashi appeared with lightning release in his hand then Haku got the lightning release straight through his chest. Zabuza looked like he was going to take advantage of this and slash at Kakashi through Haku who blocked Kakashi's deadly attack that would have killed him. But not knowing that once Riku saw Haku disappear he started running in the direction. He saw that Haku was about to get slashed and luckily he arrived at the right time to misdirect Zabuza's blade as he knew that he was not strong enough to stop the blade. Seeing this Zabuza backed up and Kakashi letting go of Haku ran after him.

Riku: Why sacrifice yourself for a man that treats you like a expedable tool?

Haku: Because he gave me a purpose to live. I was meant to die if I didn't meet him no one wanted me the only thing that .

Hearing that Riku started to tear up and he saw Haku starting to cry as well. Riku knew that he lost a lot of his family in Kirigakure and that it was different from what Haku faced but what truly broke his heart was that he lived for such a sad reason. What now sunk into Riku's mind was Haku was a victim of this shinobi world he was the living example of all of Riku's fears as this was a man who failed to live on for his family as well as the result of not having someone that could protect him when he needed it. Riku started to choke up a lot at this point.

Riku: Haku! ….Haku! I am so sorry! I am so so sorry!

Hearing this Haku turned to Riku still crying but he had a smile on his face.

Haku: What are you talking about? You are now my future. You are the child that can help to prevent things like the kekkei genkai massacre from happening again. I know that Zabuza may seem like a monster to you but please all I can ask is that you don't harm him. I know that he will get into trouble again but please I just hope you do not harm him.

Saying that he saw Haku body become more and more lifeless. Haku slowly died right in Riku's arms and that was when Riku decided he would continue on what Haku said and he would take up Haku's needles to continue on his legacy. Storing Haku's needles in another scroll he had for storage he realized he can no longer just stay here he needed to help Kakashi make sure that he didn't get harmed but he would not harm Zabuza himself.

But when he got to Zabuza they saw a group of people with a man in front of all of them.

Riku: What's going on?

Kakashi: That's Gato. He came to kill everyone he can't let the leaf know about his criminal business and he is trying to take out Zabuza as he lost trust in him.

Riku: What?

Kakashi: We all need to work together to kill them to have the best chance of surviving. Sasuke and Naruto come here we need to do this.

Riku looked to see Sasuke and Naruto. Sasuke had red eyes and a single tomoe in the eye. Naruto had red chakra coming off of him, his eyes red fox like eyes, fangs, and his nails looked like claws. He then realized that they were also in an intense fight that has caused them too unlock some of their hidden potentials. But once everyone got there they saw that Gato was hitting Haku's body for his hatred of Haku and the fact that he saw Haku as a useless tool.

Zabuza: I will fight them this is business stay out of this.

Riku: I can't let you Haku wouldn't want to see you going out like this. Haku cared about you a lot you know. As well as I cannot overlook what he did.

Zabuza: Boy I can see in your eyes you have hatred for me and I do understand what you are saying but this is my fight but out of it. I am nothing but an emotionless tool it is my destiny to die the same.

Riku: But I…..

He had an internal struggle as he knew that he disliked Zabuza but he could not hate him and send him too his death. But he saw that Zabuza was tearing up and looking at Haku's dead body.

Zabuza: I know kid but I can't let you take part in this you have a future please just don't forget us because that is truly when a shinobi dies. My only regret is I should have cared more. You kids have truly showed me that.

He then rushed into the group of shinobi and Gato he was slashing and thrusting his sword through his enemies. But you could see that the fatigue of fighting Kakashi started to take his toll as he started to get injured from the shinobi while killing them. But he still preserved and started to become a bloody mess. He finally saw Gato and rushed towards him and slashed him in half. He still had to deal with the rest of the shinobi. He eventually killed them all but he was beyond recovery at that point.

Riku: Why? Why would you do that?

Zabuza: I felt that the way Haku cared for me I should at least do the same and even if they cost me the last moments of my life.

Zabuza then walked to Haku and stared at him for a long time while crying.

Zabuza: I am so sorry it seems that humans cannot be made to be tools. I should have cared for you more.

Zabuza while still crying and looking at Haku called to Riku and started to look at Riku.

Zabuza: Please bury us together. I know you may not like me much but please remember us that is all that Haku would ask at this point.

Riku collapsed as Zabuza took his last breath and was crying. He knows that what Zabuza did was unforgivable but he was not a man beyond redemption and felt sorry for him. All that he knew was that Kirigakure was a monster for plaguing Zabuza's mind and for doing so many atrocities to Haku's life.

Riku: I will remember both of you guys I promise.
