The World Changes

One day across the world a strange mechanical voice sounds out in everyone's ears signaling a great change. It informed the people of earth that "the gods have grown bored" and described that to lessen their boredom they are granting systems to everyone. In return for this power, countless magic beasts will appear and inhabit this planet. Some of them hostile towards humans.

The voice also told the world that the original languages will be replaced by "Gehenna" the language it is speaking currently. It specified that no system is more powerful or more useless than another. Some only take time, or special events/circumstances to gain power. They have all been balanced to not create a more powerful religion or country. It all depends on the users growth.

At this time a holographic screen appeared before everyone's eyes, each screen private and not viewable to others. A vast list of systems spread out before everyone's eyes.

In California a fat male with dark hair and black eyes was currently sitting in his room dumbfounded at the scene before him. He scrolls down and stares in glee at the anime section. "What to choose? What to choose?" He mumbles to himself. He's watched countless anime but since they're all equal he doesn't know what choice he should make. Eventually he narrows it down to two choices.

Even though he believes he is not an avid anime watcher, he isn't intent on following what he feels will be the norm of the U.S... Marvel and DC systems. So he chose from anime. He hadn't watched much but he's seen most of the popular shows. His final decision is between One Piece and Naruto systems. Finally he decides upon Naruto as he remembers chakra usage is good in consuming energy. Possibly helping him get rid of his rotund figure. He selects the Naruto System and a confirmation rings out in his mind.

[Naruto System chosen. There is no chance to choose again, do you confirm?]

"I confirm!" The teen says.

[Naruto System established.]

A screen appears in front of his eyes after the system rings out. It shows three panels with the words Status, Store, and Missions respectively. He opens status to be disappointed, it only shows values for chakra, health, and vitality. He understands health and chakra, those being his amount of chakra and his physical state of being. He asks about vitality and receives a response from the system.

[Vitality is the combination of what you could consider all your stats, agility, strength, intelligence. All are factored into the vitality stat to give you your resounding vitality of 1.6.]

He questions the system and learns that the average vitality of a human male is 1. Questioning why he has a higher stat than most adult men, he is informed that his abnormally high intelligence accounts for his higher vitality stat. Suddenly a voice from outside his room yells out.

"David! Come eat!"

David heads out of his room into the kitchen and helps his mom set the table and serve food. He questions her, "what system did you choose?" She replies saying she chose a cooking system. She was in such a rush to try it out that she made dinner and received system points already. He asks her about system points and she informs him that they are what are received for accomplishing tasks related to the system. To David it seems her already good food has gone to a slightly higher level. This must be due to her system.

David questions his system and learns that a sure fire way for him to acquire system points is to meditate or do physical exercise. This also helps in another way, increasing his chakra pool. So thus David went to his room to do push-ups and sit-ups. After two or three hours of intense exercise he is sweating profusely. He has received 10 or so system points for this. After confirming his increase in points he goes and takes a shower.

After returning he uses his 10 points to purchase a basic chakra meditation manual. A small book appears in his hand and the system offers to extract the information. As he accepts, knowledge floods into his brain about chakra, the combination of physical and mental energy. He meditates for a while, increasing his chakra slowly and reinforcing his mind. After a while he falls asleep on his bed.
