The longevity granted by attaining true Sage Mode is undeniably immense, an almost timeless existence. Akira's ultimate goal wasn't just achieving Sage Mode—it was becoming a true Sage, capable of permanently maintaining Sage Mode.
For this, Jūgo's Sage Body was indispensable. Born with a natural affinity for absorbing and utilizing natural energy, Jūgo's unique physiology provided the perfect foundation. Integrating Jūgo's Sage Body into himself would significantly lower the difficulty of achieving his dream of eternal Sage Mode.
"There's only one slot left," Akira muttered, his gaze fixed on a massive cylindrical tank filled with a pale green liquid. Suspended within it was a large, irregularly shaped block of wood, measuring three to four meters in diameter.
This was a fragment of the Demonic Statue's body Akira had obtained in the Land of Rain. After extensive experimentation, he had confirmed a crucial detail: if the chakra of the nine tailed beasts were injected into this fragment, it would come alive.
Currently, the inanimate fragment had limited utility, but once it awakened, it would possess the full power of the Ten-Tails—the strength of the Sage of Six Paths. The possibilities were endless.
The Demonic Statue's body wasn't even human, but Akira's Chimera Technique didn't restrict fusion materials to human subjects, summoning creatures were often its initial targets. Thus, reviving this fragment made it an essential candidate for his final fusion material.
With this, Akira finalized his selection of materials for the Chimera Technique:
A clone of Senju Hashirama.A clone of Ōtsutsuki Toneri.A body imbued with the Tenseigan.Jūgo's Sage Body. The revived fragment of the Demonic Statue.
Among these, the Hashirama clone was already prepared. However, the remaining four required significant effort.
To acquire Toneri's clone, Akira would have to venture to the Moon and face the Ōtsutsuki family. Though challenging, Akira felt confident in his ability to obtain what he needed. The real concern was the Moon's Giant Tenseigan, a device that could drain chakra from anyone without Hamura's lineage.
As for obtaining the Tenseigan and reviving the Demonic Statue, these were matters of timing and opportunity.
"If the original work is any indication, Hinata's younger sister, Hanabi Hyūga, has the most compatible Byakugan for awakening the Tenseigan…" Akira mused.
Unfortunately, Hanabi wasn't born yet, and even Hinata herself was only a few months old.
"I'll have to settle for Hinata's Byakugan," he decided.
Hinata, hailed as the Byakugan Princess, undoubtedly had Byakugan of exceptional purity. Akira suspected that Ōtsutsuki Toneri didn't choose her in the original timeline because he needed to wait for his grand plan to destroy and recreate the Shinobi world before selecting her as his partner. Hanabi's Byakugan might also have been more compatible with his chakra.
"No matter," Akira muttered. "I'll use Uchiha Madara's identity for this."
Retrieving a black cloak with red clouds and a tiger-patterned mask from the Kamui dimension, Akira donned the signature attire of the Akatsuki and vanished from his lab.
Moments later, the Hyūga Clan's grand compound—an ancient and imposing estate—came into view. The center of Konoha was quiet, yet the presence of vigilant guards hinted at the power within.
Akira appeared silently in the compound of the Hyūga Clan's head. His sudden intrusion did not go unnoticed.
"Enemy attack!"
The serene courtyard erupted with activity as numerous branch family members, all wearing Konoha headbands, emerged from the shadows to surround Akira.
"Impressive response time. The Byakugan's surveillance capabilities are indeed unmatched," Akira remarked, his Sharingan glowing crimson beneath his mask. His gaze swept over the gathered Hyūga as he strode deeper into the estate, ignoring the guards who encircled him.
"Don't let him through! Attack!" a branch family member shouted.
"Wood Style: Piercing Spear!"
With a sharp swish, Akira extended a wooden spike from his hand, effortlessly piercing the nearest opponent. Blood splattered as the Hyūga fell lifeless to the ground.
A faint chuckle escaped from behind Akira's mask. "Futile. My target is not you. Do not waste your lives in vain."
Despite his warning, several Hyūga charged forward, unwavering in their determination to protect their clan. For Akira, they were little more than obstacles. His wood-style techniques and Sharingan precision dispatched them with cold efficiency.
One by one, Hyūga guards fell. The faint smell of blood filled the air, mixing with the tension as the remaining branch family members hesitated. Years of servitude and subjugation under the main family left many reluctant to risk their lives for a cause they didn't believe in.
Even so, retreat was not an option. Open defiance would lead to punishment far worse than death.
Among the hesitant, a few remained fiercely loyal to the main family and rushed toward Akira with relentless resolve. To them, Akira showed no mercy, each strike lethal and precise.
In mere minutes, the once-pristine courtyard was littered with bodies. Pools of blood reflected the pale moonlight as Akira, unfazed by the carnage, made his way deeper into the estate.
The true challenge awaited in the depths of the Hyūga Clan's stronghold.
