7.Brawl

A black-haired boy could be seen standing in front of a mirror looking at a boy clad in a black outfit with a lot of seals embedded on it from inside.

The boy sticks his tongue out and a black coloured mark could be seen as three solid lines and two broken lines from the back of the tongue to the tip.

'This seal is ingenious, it not only stops the target from speaking anything about root but also lets Danzo know the location of the cursed-seal bearer and whether that person is lying or not to Danzo'

The boy now put his mask on and left the room. It was none other than #13, the one who was referred to as an uncute kid in his 'academy' days.

He arrived in an open field with 6 others already present. Somebody else flickers in the room in the next minute.

"Good, you guys are almost ready to go onto the field for missions" He started reminding them about some important things.

All members of Team WHITE, now have removed their masks and listening to this guy. Team white comprised the trio of #13's team along with a certain yellow-haired guy, a white-haired girl, an emerald-haired girl and a black-haired boy.

Yes, they were all those people, who #13's team had fought once in the second round of the exam or the tournament.

"Now, one final task remains" The instructor paused eyeing all of them and then continued "You have to decide on a leader, that is up to you all to decide how, also no killing or maiming, you guys will be a team in the future" With that instructor left.

"So... How do we do this?" One of many raven-heads asked"

"How about we do a battle royal to decide who will be the winner?" The emerald-haired girl suggested.

"In that, senpai always wins" S-chan reminded about the camper in their group, who likes to play the long game and battles with him are generally long and agonizing.

"How about we take care of him first by ganging up on him, after he is eliminated, we will have a battle-royale among ourselves to decide the winner, eliminating one can either be done by making them unconscious or the other person willing to give up" Delta recommended 

"Yup"

"yes"

"Sounds Good"

"I am in"

"Ya"

This decision was unanimously agreed in the next instant.

"Hey, I am still here, how can you do that with me?" #13 appeared faux hurt and flickered backwards even before all started voicing out their agreement. In the next instant, a blue ray of light was heading towards him.

It was none other than A-rank Jutsu  Railgun

'Wind Beam' A beam of wind clashed with the light beam. It was a B rank jutsu which he created from observing S-chan. 

Wind does have an elemental advantage over lightning, so expectedly in the next instant, the wind beam was crushed easily.

There is a world of gap between B-ranks and A-ranks. However, #13 never had an idea of beating his jutsu, he just wanted to deflect it and he was successful in that endeavour.

The blue beam was deflected towards the approaching Emerald-haired girl who hadn't moved from her initial position.

In the next instant, the sword which was in sheath previously, now was clashing with the kunai leading that beam, and the tip of the blade covered in green chakra, met the tip of the kunai covered in blue chakra.

The Emerald-haired girl skidded back a few steps worth of distance before the kunai was cut from between in two pieces.

"Jeez, you guys shouldn't play with kunais, somebody might get hurt" the Emerald-haired girl smirked. Everyone had to take a double-take at what they witnessed.

"Senpai is escaping" That did the trick to make everyone reminded of their objective.

"Don't let him out of your sight, otherwise it would be very hard to find him."

"S, throw me" The Yellow-haired guy, now covered in blue chakra jumped forward in a diving position, such that he was horizontal.

S-chan instantaneously had her one palm covered in green chakra before she made a palm-thrusting motion towards Yellow's foot.

Like a bullet, Yellow appeared over #13 had made a thrusting motion with his sword which was met by a kunai of the latter's.

The sound of the clashing of metals was heard several times over the next few seconds. Just as Yellow retreated, ice and chakra slashes were hurled at #13 giving him no breathing space.

He dodged by flickering and doing some mid-air manoeuvres but was interrupted just as he landed.

"Multiple String Light Formation" The Jutsu's name was said after #13 was already immobilized.

Various markings could be seen on the ground originating from all the 6 people present. This is not exactly a ninjutsu but rather a hybrid between Fuinjutsu and Ninjutsu.

Anyway, the only way to escape is either overpower it with huge chakra, or

The Ground beneath #13 exploded, sending him a few meters above the ground, successfully breaking this formation. #13 had some seals that would do some specific functions when he went through certain conditions. 

Such effect could also be received from Jutsus which have delay effect in them.

This time, a lot of projectiles- elemental or non-elemental, were hurled towards him, but catching him in a forest is very hard, due to his special substitution whose performance is high, especially in such an environment where obstacles are present.

Not only that, he could release chakra from any part of his body in such a fashion that he could easily dodge a lot of things mid-air, which coupled with his own version of substitution really suits his fighting style.

Delta could be seen sliding on ice to move in a unique manner in between trees, Yellow using his lightning cloak, and Delta using some advanced form of wind flicker which is used by the Emerald-haired girl.

White-haired Girl is the only one who is using the old and good Body flicker and is lagging behind the group chasing #13, due to not having a good movement type jutsu.

"S-chan! Now" White-haired girl yelled and started weaving hand signs.

In the next instant fire was released from her mouth, an observer would note it as an A-rank Jutsu. However, the astonishing thing was that this fire was moving in the form of a beam in an unnatural way such that it was overtaking trees and homing towards #13 whose eyes widened a bit.

Not only that but Ice and chakra slashes from Delta and the Emerald-haired girl limited his escape routes.

Just as fire was going to make contact with him an earth wall was erected which took the grunt of the continuous attack.

This fire's unnatural movement was done by S-chan using some wind jutsu to move some substances which the White-haired girl subtly gave her to make a path from her to #13.

It was acting as an air equivalent of Kerosene or petrol.

#13 seems to be continuously pummeling chakra into his earth dome against the continuous onslaught of the concentrated fire of the White-haired girl.

Now, if one may ask, what if #13 created a clone with some chakra and escaped underground? Well, S-chan was a competent sensor here and was focusing on him from the moment this battle started.

So, that seemed out of the question.

Also, why aren't the White-haired girl and her twin not making a combination jutsu, seeing the A-rank fire jutsu, there is a high chance that their combination would make a S-rank Jutsu?

Well, the answer is simple, there is a high chance for an accident to happen when such a high-ranked Jutsu is involved and even if #13 is competent, they don't want to risk it in hopes of him dodging the jutsu, as they have firsthand witnessed the destructive capability of their S-rank Jutsu.

Second is that knowing that they won't resort to this jutsu, her twin has gone into the forest to make some Fuinjutsu traps to catch #13 off-guard. 

Back to the battle, the Yellow-haired guy yelled "Delta, let's do that" and started weaving some hand signs.

Without hesitation, Delta started weaving some hand signs.

In the next few seconds, a beam of water attacked the earth wall next to the fire which was covering a small area but was concentrated nonetheless.

Some water on the side close to the fire seems to be evaporating indicating the hotness of the fire even without contact.

A wave of electricity hit the water beam, increasing the penetrative power of the water jutsu.

This tactic was successful as water seemed to be cutting the earth wall like a knife cutting butter and making #13 disrupt his earth wall in favour of flickering back. 

#13 tried to use Gale Palm to push back the wind surrounding him in hopes of pushing back those substances. However, his attempt at this was unsuccessful as he still got hit by the fire jutsu.

Well, I am releasing the chapter earlier than I anticipated I would, but releasing short chapters is not really hard, but it really gets annoying when you are trying to end the chapter at a suspense point.

If you have some tips regarding that or anything else about my story, then please do share them. I would love to improve my storytelling abilities.

I have planned some things about the last arc of this Volume and I am excited to write that part.

However, the problem I am encountering is that things are becoming a bit repetitive in some arcs and the last arc, so I am trying to find some new ideas.
