SS4. Matchmaker

"There is a rumor around town, about you" I said to Kenji, who opened his eyes as big as plates, he looks cute when he is surprised "you don't need to worry is nothing bad, sweetie" I comforted him.

"A rumor? What is it now?" He asked, after eight years of being known as a genius he grew tired of the attention some gave him, and the rumors were outrageous most of the time.

"A little bird told me, you confessed your love for a girl to the four winds" I teased him, I think his heart just skipped a beat, I ran to his side, catching him before he fell to the ground, it seems I still got it, no matter how much he grows, he is still my baby boy.

"I… I… It wasn't like that, I just told Neji and Lee that I liked her, and they set a trap for me, Neji shouted that I liked her, and Lee made sure I couldn't escape" He was desperate to clear the situation, but I know him well, the only reason he was losing his mind, was because he does find her attractive, more than he is willing to admit, and is my duty as his mother to help him and encourage him.

"You should ask her out" I said to him.

"WHAT?!" The look of surprise on his face will never grow old.

"You should ask her out," I repeated myself, "your father and I were your age when he asked me out the first time, I didn't accept, but he didn't give up, besides you have the same face he used to make whenever he lay his eyes on me" I teased him, he jerked a bit, but blushed as fast as the jerk ended.

"Do you really think it is a good idea?" Kenji asked.

"Ara, Ara, are you doubting my wisdom?" I smiled to him, "think of it as a favor for your old mother, that feels lonely with an empty nest" I added.

"First, you ain't old, second, you didn't remarry because you don't want, you have multiple pretenders, awaiting to be executed, I mean introduced to me, third I'm too young to be filling the nest" He replied, but I just kept smiling, he grew restless with every second that passed "Fine, I will ask her out, just don't kill me mom" he finally caught up, this was a motherly request, and like Naruto he knows I don't do request.
