Chapter 189 : Danzo vs Sogetsu??

Time rewinds several hours.

Since finding out that Uchiha Sogetsu was recognized as the Fourth Hokage, Danzo had completely lost his composure.

In his anger, he smashed everything around him, his extreme emotions leading to something unexpected with his body.

Looking in the mirror, he saw his once handsome face now covered in wrinkles. His dark hair seemed to have a life of its own, moving as if it had a will. The ends of his hair had grown what looked like eyes, staring back at him from the broken mirror.

"Ahhh—!"

Danzo felt both terrified and furious.

He tried to pull the hair away, but no matter how hard he yanked, more would instantly grow back.

What is happening?!

Danzo couldn't understand why he had turned into this monstrous figure.

More importantly, there was a voice in his mind, constantly whispering, pushing him to the edge of insanity.

Tap, tap, tap… 

At that moment, footsteps approached.

"Who? Didn't I tell you all to get out?!"

In a panic, Danzo grabbed a nearby black robe, wrapping it around himself, afraid someone would see his horrifying appearance.

"It's me."

By the flickering candlelight in the hall, Danzo recognized the visitor as Aburame Ryoma.

Feeling a bit uncomfortable, he spoke sharply, "Ryoma? What are you doing here? I told you not to disturb me. Get out!"

After saying this, Danzo waited a long time, but Ryoma remained still, as if he hadn't heard him.

Danzo's temples throbbed with anger as he glared at him. "Ryoma, didn't you hear my orders?!"

With an expressionless face, Ryoma showed a faint hint of sarcasm. In the midst of Danzo's furious gaze, he slowly turned to the side and respectfully said, "Lord…"

Only then did Danzo notice a shadow behind Ryoma.

As the figure stepped forward, illuminated by the candlelight, Danzo's expression twisted in rage. "You! Uchiha Sogetsu!"

He immediately shifted his glare to Ryoma, his voice low and threatening. "Ryoma, how dare you betray me?!"

"Betray?" 

Ryoma frowned, a look of confusion crossing his face. "Forgive me for being blunt, but betrayal assumes loyalty. I have never been loyal to you; where does this betrayal come from?"

Danzo trembled with anger, pointing at Ryoma and incredulously saying, "What did you just say?!"

"Face reality, Danzo."

Ryoma smirked sarcastically and added, "Someone like you, hiding like a rat in the gutter, thinks you deserve my loyalty?"

"Someone! Someone, come here!" 

Frantically, Danzo slammed his hand on the chair and shouted, "Get out here and kill them!"

"Stop shouting; it won't help, even if you scream your throat raw."

Ryoma scoffed and replied, "No one in the Root has been loyal to you for a long time, Danzo."

Hearing this, Danzo seemed unable to believe it. He gritted his teeth in rage and shouted, "No, that's impossible! The Root is mine! Don't think a lowlife like you can betray me and get away with it!"

"Planning to use the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal?" 

Ryoma anticipated his thoughts and extended his tongue, saying, "Sorry, your methods are long outdated."

"No, no, that can't be." 

Danzo suddenly slumped in his chair, his eyes wide as he stared at Ryoma's clean tongue, momentarily dazed. "When did this happen?"

"Hmm, that question is a bit vague, making it hard to answer."

After a long silence, Uchiha Sogetsu slowly walked over, asking as he approached, "Are you talking about the Root breaking away from your control? Or you becoming a woman? Or perhaps the Cloud Ninja invading Konoha? Sorry, things have been busy lately, and I just can't remember."

"What are you saying?" 

Veins bulged on Danzo's forehead as he felt he was on the edge of exploding. "You made me a woman? And the Cloud Ninja incident was also your doing?"

"To be precise, that includes, but isn't limited to," Uchiha Sogetsu pretended to ponder before smiling. "In fact, since the Rain Ninja Village incident, I've been watching your every move."

The Rain Ninja Village... Hanzo?!

Danzo suddenly snapped back to reality, his face twisted with hatred as he glared at Sogetsu. "Uchiha Sogetsu, you're the biggest villain in Konoha!"

"A villain? Perhaps." 

Sogetsu didn't argue, casually stating, "Of course, that doesn't really matter."

"So, telling me all this now is your way of planning to silence me?" Danzo wasn't foolish; he knew that since his opponent revealed all this, they wouldn't let him live.

"Heh~"

Uchiha Sogetsu smiled slightly but didn't respond.

"Want to kill me? You're not qualified!" 

Suddenly, Danzo roared like a lioness, "Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere!"

Several powerful Wind Jutsu blasts shot through the air, like bullets fired from her mouth, speeding directly toward Uchiha Sogetsu's face.

"Secret Technique: Insect Wall Technique!"

A swarm of parasitic insects flew out, swirling around Uchiha Sogetsu at high speed, forming a protective wall.

Seeing that all the vacuum sphere had been blocked, Danzo gritted his teeth in anger and glared at Ryoma, shouting, "Ryoma, you damn traitor!"

"I told you, I'm not a traitor!"

With fury boiling in his eyes, Ryoma formed hand signs and shouted, "Parasitic Insects: Erosion!"

A massive wave of parasitic insects surged forward, dark and overwhelming, sweeping toward Danzo.

"You're forcing me to do this—!"

Fueled by anger, Danzo no longer cared about his image.

Slish!

His black robe was torn apart by sharp objects.

In the next moment, Danzo jumped several times, hanging upside down from the ceiling of the hall.

Strands of black hair hung down from the ceiling, each tip resembling an eye, eerily staring down at the two below.

Even someone as resolute as Ryoma felt a chill at this bizarre sight.

"Hahaha."

The black hair moved like living creatures, thrashing wildly, each strand brimming with immense power.

The strands whipped through the air, slicing the floor tiles and walls, creating powerful gusts of wind.

Danzo laughed maniacally, resembling a monster as he scuttled along the wall with incredible speed. "Uchiha Sogetsu, you didn't expect this, did you? You turned me into a woman, but it gave me tremendous power. Now it's your turn to taste the bitter fruit of your actions!"

Her speed was astounding, flashing like a streak of light in the darkness, rapidly closing in.

Suddenly, a strand of black hair burst from the ground, coiling around Uchiha Sogetsu's ankle and yanking him upward, slamming him hard against the wall.

Boom! 

The tremendous force shattered the wall.

Danzo, like a demon, used his hair to grab a long sword and forcefully stabbed it into Uchiha Sogetsu's chest.
