[Investigation]

'I guess that means I have something else to look into whilst I'm over here.

And it's not like I can't turn these lot into my puppets before I leave here...'

Sasuke thoughts briefly hovered over the topic before he decided to launch a separate investigation into it after completing his mission.

'For now, I should try to finish this mission.'

Sasuke began to use his perception to look for how many people were inside the building.

'1, 2, 3, 4, 5... 47.'

Sasuke managed to find 43 chakra signatures in the mansion, with 23 of them seemingly being samurai and only one of them managed to reach Chunin level in terms of chakra reserves.

The remaining 24 were probably staff within the mansion and most likely included Kazuki Yoshida in there too.

Tiger --> Dog --> Snake

As he performed several hand seals, Sasuke summoned 20 wood clones. He sent some of them to survey the perimeter of the mansion whilst others were sent inside for further investigation.

He didn't summon too many wood clones as his chakra is already in half due to the one he left back at Konoha and he also wanted to maintain a certain level of combat effectiveness simply due to caution.

Whilst his clones were investigating the area around the place, he remained outside as he focused on the information he was constantly being fed into his mind from his wood clones.

It didn't take long for one of his clones to locate the study in the mansion and find their target their dealing with some paperwork.

'Found you...'

Sasuke suddenly vanished from his previous location as he moved towards the location where Kazuki Yoshida was discovered.

After discovering his target, he entered the mansion whilst calling his clones to gather at the study and wait for him. He walked through the luxuriously decorated hallways and staff of the mansion who remained oblivious to his presence by placing them all under his Genjutsu.

Sasuke found himself before the room to the study along with his clones and he could sense a single chakra signature within the room.

"Who's there?! Didn't I tell you all to not disturb me?! Useless pariahs!"

Sasuke opened the door as the person inside, whom he could now identify as Kazuki Yoshida, shouted at him with frustration lacing their words. Unfazed, Sasuke entered the room.

Before the man could realise what was happening he met a pair of crimson eyes, with his head soon falling onto his desk as the man began to wistfully fall asleep.

Whilst his target was sleeping, Sasuke and his clones sifted through the drawers on the desk and the books on the bookshelves with a few searching the room for any hidden compartments.

Most of the books from within the drawers were ledgers recording the movement of Kazuki's financial assets.

However, Sasuke noticed a lot of funds being directed to an unknown location in more recent years. 

'I'm assuming this what was being sent to Danzo.'

Though this hinted at Kazuki cooperating with Danzo, there wasn't any definitive evidence yet of their collusion. 

Whilst Sasuke was busy looking through the ledgers, one of his clones caught his attention as it relayed information to him- it had discovered a possible secret compartment.

The clone pointed his finger towards a certain part of a bookshelf, as Sasuke with his Sharingan could vaguely see traces of chakra around the location.

"Interesting..."

Sasuke could begin to search for the method to open this secret passageway, but he thought of a much easier solution. 

*Slap*

He grabbed the sleeping man by his head and gave him a few slaps to wake him up. As the man woke up with confusion swirling around in his eyes he soon met a familiar set of eyes as his own eyes grew dull.

"Open that up."

Sasuke instructed him, watching the man get up from his chair as he walked over to the bookshelf and moved a book from the shelf- revealing a small, wooden button behind it.

As he pushed that button, the bookshelf began to shake slightly as they slowly moved away and revealed a secret room behind it.

"Good job! Here this is your reward."

Sasuke gave the walking zombie of a man a pat on his shoulder as he used medical jutsu to heal the damage to his face caused by Sasuke slapping him.

Nevertheless, that was less of a reward and more of Sasuke ensuring he didn't leave any physical evidence of him being there behind.

Stepping into the secret room, Sasuke looked around. It seemed like any other room he saw in this large mansion.

However, Sasuke could smell a faint musty scent floating in the room and he also saw a clear lack of furniture inside.

Instead, bundles of paper and bags littered the floor.

Sasuke found that several pieces of paper contained distinct evidence of Kazuki's transactions with a Konoha council member, though Sasuke was certain that was merely Danzo's puppet, as well as bags containing a massive sum of Ryo.

As he read the information scattered around the room, he understood that this recorded the transactions between Kazuki and Danzo.

Normally, Sasuke wouldn't understand why villains would keep records of their illegal activities like this lying around.

However, as he adapts to living in this world he understands this is usually a method by an individual to blackmail their partners.

With information like this, in the event something went wrong Kazuki could seek Danzo's protection by threatening him with this evidence.

Nonetheless, considering it's Danzo, Sasuke doesn't think he would passively accept being threatened...

'That's the first step of this mission done. Now I just need to monitor and record his movements for the next few days.'

One week later

One week passed since Sasuke's initial infiltration of the mansion. The once unfamiliar surroundings greeted him as he entered once again, though this would be his last time here. 

During this time Sasuke had been monitoring Kazuki, who had been temporarily freed from the control of the Genjutsu, and had made some discoveries that seemed... interesting to say the least.

During this period he had seen Kazuki communicate with the Daimyo on several occasions.

This by itself isn't a big deal, but Sasuke eavesdropped on their conversations and learned that the Daimyo was directly involved in funding Danzo. 

However, on second thought, that would explain why ROOT is still operational.

Considering that Hiruzen most likely isn't properly funding them after his experience with their assassination of him. Furthermore, Kazuki along with his associates simply weren't enough to fund the entire ROOT division. 

Furthermore, Sasuke also investigated the Daimyo and other ministers Kazuki had come into contact with.

After looking into it, he found only some of them seemed to be related to funding Danzo and most of them were seemingly aware of it but just simply ignoring it.

Despite these findings, Sasuke couldn't find any involvement of these people with any other organisations or groups- very much to Sasuke's relief. 

But that didn't mean he found nothing else during his time here.

Whilst he scoured the Daimyo's palace for any more information, he found that the Land of Fire had recently approved a transaction with the Land of Rice Fields.

Doesn't seem too weird, does it?

However, the Land of Rice Fields has a second name that may sound far more familiar. 

The Land of Sound

More specifically it should be home to a certain snake by this point in the timeline though considering the abundant number of variables in this world, Sasuke could never be too sure.

'The Land of Rice Fields seem to have reached an agreement to establish a trading caravan between the two nations...'

Though this may not be anything too serious, Sasuke still wanted to check this so-called 'trading caravan' out.

Before heading out to investigate this merchant caravan, Sasuke decided to wrap up his mission.

Walking through the now-familiar mansion, Sasuke meandered through its large and numerous hallways that littered the building.

As he entered the study room again, Kazuki was found staring at the empty void in front of him as he was once again controlled by the Genjutsu.

'Now...

How do I frame Danzo?'

Sasuke was lost in thought, during this time he had tried to think of many different methods but this was rather difficult.

Framing the member of the civilian council would be rather easy, but he also wanted to screw over Danzo with this mission.

He also couldn't exactly give up on this opportunity to frame Danzo as it would be of use to him in his plans. 

'I guess I could leave some evidence about Kazuki threatening his partner with the information he has about their cooperation- naming the civilian council member by name. 

This would serve to link him with the civilian council member, completing the mission.

Then, I will kill Kazuki whilst disguising myself as a rogue ninja.

Finally, I should hand some evidence linking Kazuki with Danzo to a subordinate and have him leak the evidence a few months later.'

After planning how he should go about finishing the mission, Sasuke removed the tanto from his back and promptly slit Kazuki's throat.

Ignoring the blood gushing out of the wound on Kazuki and the look of shock on his face, Sasuke took out a piece of paper he collected from the secret room.

Afterwards, he recorded a false exchange between Kazuki and his partner on the slip of paper, placing it in a drawer within the desk- hidden under piles of other information that Sasuke deemed unnecessary to take with him.

Sasuke wrote this information using Kazuki's handwriting where necessary, something he had copied during his time monitoring him.

He then collected all the information from both the study room and the secret room before leaving.

Sasuke finished up by putting the person in charge of managing the mansion under a Genjutsu and gave him some evidence he had copied from the secret room- indicating the involvement of Danzo.

This is so that he will reveal this evidence a few months later, all but confirming Danzo's involvement with Kazuki whilst simultaneously minimising Sasuke's role in it.

Once he had finished up, he used his Sharingan to edit the memories of all the people in the vicinity and make them think that a Rogue Nin was responsible for the death of Kazuki.

'That should be all?'

Sasuke double-checked everything to ensure he didn't leave behind any possible loopholes

Confident that he had set up the false evidence correctly, Sasuke's figure promptly disappeared leaving chaos in his wake.

Screams and shouts could soon be heard from the house, as everyone woke up from the Genjutsu Sasuke had placed them in.

The place soon descended into a symphony of confusion and fear.
