The next morning, Ryuu began his training regimen. His body, though still small, was surprisingly strong, a testament to the physical enhancements granted by God. He started with a series of rigorous exercises: running, push-ups, and calisthenics.
As he trained, he couldn't help but think about the village and its plight. The loss of so many young men had left them vulnerable. He vowed to do everything in his power to protect his newfound home.
Later that morning, his grandmother approached him. "I've told everyone about your chakra training," she announced. "You should come with me."
Ryuu felt a pang of guilt. He had lied to his grandmother about the origin of the scroll, but he believed it was for the greater good of the village.
In the center of the village, the villagers had gathered. An air of anticipation hung heavy in the air.
The elderly man, Fujin, stepped forward.
"Little Ryuu, is it true that you have found a way for everyone to become ninjas?"
Ryuu took a deep breath. "Old Man Fujin, it's true, but not everyone can become powerful ninjas. I plan to start with the children, those aged five and above. They are the future, and training them to control chakra will be crucial for the village's survival."
Fujin nodded. "Even if we become weak ninjas, it will still be beneficial. These children will be stronger, more capable of defending themselves."
Fujin then turned to his grandmother. "Do you truly believe this, little Ryuu? Where did you obtain this scroll? It's impossible that it came from within the village."
His grandmother placed a reassuring hand on Ryuu's shoulder. "He said he found it outside the village. And I trust him."
Fujin frowned, still unconvinced. "Little Ryuu, you are only two years old. How did you even extract chakra?"
The villagers were startled. "How did you do it?" someone asked. "Are you alright? Do you have any side effects?"
His grandmother's eyes widened with concern. "Ryuu, are you alright? You don't have any side effects, do you?"
Ryuu smiled reassuringly. "No, I'm fine, Grandma. Watch." He then spun around in a circle, demonstrating his agility.
"Okay," he said, "let's begin. All children aged five to ten, please gather in a circle and join hands."
As the children formed a circle, Ryuu closed his eyes and focused his chakra. He then gently shared his chakra with the children, allowing them to feel the subtle energy flowing through them.
After a few moments, he released the connection. "Now, try to feel the energy within yourselves," he instructed.
The children, however, were unable to replicate his feat. None of them could extract any chakra.
"Don't worry," Ryuu encouraged them. "It takes time and practice. Let's try again tomorrow."
Ryuu knew that their talents varied greatly. Using his unique ability to perceive others' potential, he had already assessed them. Most possessed only chunin-level talent, while only two children showed the potential to become jonin-level ninjas.
To be continued.
