Chapter 43: Wise, Sword, Poison, Spring, (1)

4 months after Cheon Mujin became the Emerald Serpent Clan Leader, Cheon Yuchan broke through the Super Master Level. After breaking through he challenged Bu Chu-ryong to a duel with the Clan Leader position on the line which he surprisingly won.

Cheon Yu-chan is at Super Master level while Bu Chu-ryong is at the Superior Master level. Logically speaking he stood no chance but because of the severe injuries Cheon Mujin inflicted on him and his deteriorating health due to an unidentified poison, he lost against Cheon Yuchan.

After defeating Bu Chu-ryong, Cheon Yuchan became the new Clan Leader of the Blade Clan. After he did so, he signed a contract with the Emerald Serpent Clan with the same context of a contract from Sound Clan.

And so with that two out of the Six Clans came under him. But it will not end there. Cheon Mujin plans to get the Six Clan under him completely.

Lady Mu is the current acting head of Wise Clan. She is also one of the wives of Cheon Yujong, the Lord, she is also the mother of Cheon Muyeon.

Ever since Mu Jinwon died at the hands of Cheon Mujin, she had assumed the position of clan head, but being Clan head isn't as easy as people thought. There was a lot of opposition, especially from strong martial artists of Wise Clan, so she had to reveal her realm in martial arts which is Superior Master Level.

People thought that Lady Mu was nothing but a harmless lady but they were wrong when she revealed her martial realm. They were shocked at how powerful she was, thus they conceded the throne to her.

Currently though, she was in quite a trouble. The man who killed her clan's previous Clan Leader, Cheon Mujin sent her a formal letter of meeting. Usually this would've been just a normal meeting for her but there was something ominous about it.

Cheon Mujin have been taking over the six clans one by one, and now from what the letter seems to convey it seems that her Wise Clan would be next.

But she was not the only one having those thoughts though. The Clan Leader of Sword Clan, Spring Clan, and Poison Clan also received the same letter, a letter or to be more precise an ultimatum from the First Elder.

This is the contents of the Letter:

Subject: Invitation to Diplomatic Summit

Dear Esteemed Leaders of the Sword Clan, Spring Clan, Wise Clan, and Poison Clan,

I trust this letter finds you in good health and prosperity. My name is Cheon Mujin, honored to serve as the First Elder of the revered Sky Demon Order and Clan Leader of Emerald Serpent Clan. The way Cheon Mujin caricatures his words on the letter seems so polite and harmless but the underlying threat was there. It was not a formal letter of open political discussion but an ultimatum of a conquest.

The four clan leaders were in turmoil. Then suddenly as they were pondering a sudden enlightenment came.

What if the four clans were to work together and take down the Emerald Serpent Clan and swallow it in this negotiation?

With their pride as leaders of the Six Clans, their pride and ego is sky high so they thought they could turn this situation around.

With that they accepted the invitation.

Ancestral Grounds of Emerald Serpent Clan. It was but a small pavilion at the top of a steep mountain. The view from this seemingly small pavilion up the mountain overlooks the city under Emerald Serpent Clan's territory. It was so peaceful and quiet from this high, that it feels like there is no chaos going on in the world.

But the man sitting on it says otherwise, for the man who looks at the city is the embodiment of chaos. A man who sows despair and takes glee of it. A man hungry for power yet never satiated.a man that lust for the world to be under his. That's Cheon Mujin.

And currently in front of him are the four clan leaders of the remaining members of the Six Clans.

Lady Mu of the Wise Clan

Ja Jinkeng of the Spring Clan

Baek Oh of Poison Clan

Kyung Bon Gi of Sword Clan

The four that held significant power inside Sky Demon Order gathered around for one purpose. To attack Cheon Mujin before the latter could. Before they mey Cheon Mujin they discussed among themselves on how they'll counterattack against Cheon Mujin, so the four were quite confident and quite relaxed despite Cheon Mujin being in front of them.
