White Platform

Helen stared at the white wall in confusion. She has been here for hours, she guessed, but she hasn't seen the solid walls ripple but now. She leaned forward from her small platform and blew air on the white wall. And it rippled.

The walls were never solid, to begin with. As they were made from strange Alien soft material. That didn't calm her down but boosted her fear.

Back on Earth, Helen was awake when her fat jiggling husband kissed her, but when she glanced at him while he was walking out of the room, she saw transparent water pour out of nowhere and engulfed him.

She screamed in panic and ran after him, but he was nowhere to be seen. She checked again, believing she was just seeing things due to her half-asleep state. But there was no sign of him.

She quickly called her aunt, telling her what happened but by the sound of it, her Aunt, Susan, didn't believe her. But she nonetheless calmed her down and told her to wait until she came over.

Helen's reaction has spooked Susan even though she did not believe those fantastical things, she still called Helen's parents and informed them.

What they assumed was that the fat jackass gave their daughter drugs that made her see things. They need to put an end to it.

They rendezvous at the house but... the house was locked from the inside. When they broke into it, no evidence showed the inhabitant of the house had left. That was when the true panic began to build up in them.

As for Helen, she did see them parking with their card and ran to open the door for them but then - she has warped away just like Elias and she found herself in the white square room.

She was trapped in four walls. The walls weren't far away from her as by extending her hand she would be able to touch them.

There was a sense of calmness in her but with occasional headaches from time to time. Yet, Helen's common sense refused to dwell in that fake calmness and she cried out.

Crying wouldn't do her anything, she got tired of it and silently watched the wall she was facing. That was when she noticed a ripple.

"It seems you have calmed down!" A raspy tired voice said. She begins to panic again, hearing a voice out of nowhere.

"You are…." The voice was about to continue saying more when.

"Why did you kidnap me here?" She cried out.

"Calm down, I'm not the kidnapper. Just old bones like you!"

"I'm not old bones! If you are not a kidnapper then why did you bring me here? You must answer to authority. My Aunt will never leave you until she puts you down!"

With a snort in her nose, she began to throw out threats and curses at the old voice until she was out of breath.

"My name is Benjamin Lincoln. I came back from my wife's burial and then my mind became blank and when I woke up I found myself in this square room. I might be here for days and then I heard you crying. I'm just a victim like you - and I'm to your left!"

The old man explained calmly.

"Oh! How will I know you are telling the truth?"

"You will see your left wall rippling whenever I speak, just like I'm seeing my right wall rippling. And check the other walls, anywhere you see a ripple you will hear a sound, no matter how faint it is!"

After some minutes Helen confirmed his claim and she said, "I'm sorry, I suspect you!"

"It's alright, I…"

"But where are we? Who kidnapped us? Please tell me it's not Aliens. I don't want to believe in those!" Helen continued to panic.

Benjamin Lincoln listened to her panic question and patiently waited for her to get tired.

"I have some answers you seek but I will first tell you how to get them. Okay!"

"Okay!"

The reason why he didn't spoon-feed her was she might begin to suspect him again if he had shown that he knows a lot. So, it was better to get the girl's trust before he can casually explain things to her.

"Look at the thing you are sitting on!"

She did, it was a meter size Round White Platform. It's also smooth and reflected her face when she observed further.

"Touch it and close your eyes. Try not to think of anything!"

She was sceptical but she ultimately did as she was told.

~WELLCOME~

~PLEASE SURVIVE THE FOG~

~Fog Breath 78% Success ~

The percentage was tickling up.

She opened her eyes and she said, "I see some writings and percentages!"

"Did you understand what was written?"

"Yes, it is a welcome note and…." She explained in detail.

"When that percentage reaches 100% new features will be open. And you will learn a bit about where you are. But don't get your hopes up as not all questions you have will be answered!"

"Thank you, kind Elder!" Her manners and calmness are beginning to return.

From time to time Helen will touch her platform to read about the moving percentage. But she felt it was too slow and she was dying to know more. But the old man kept silent.

"Grandpa! Would you please explain to me what you understand?"

"Have your percentage finished already?"

"No, it is 82%. It was moving slowly!"

If they could see each other, Helen would have seen the old man gawking at her.

Slow? It took him days before his percentage reached a hundred and she was here for just a few hours but it was about to fill up...and she was complaining.

But that did not bother him much but the fact there was no groaning of pain like he used to hear from other inhabitants of the square room close to him. Heck, even he felt like killing himself due to the slow agonizing pain he explained.

But this inpatient brat was complaining that the time was too slow.

"Lucky bastard!" The person in front of the old man's room said out loud.

"What did you say, Grandpa?" Helen's innocent voice asked after she heard a sound.

"Nothing, my daughter. It was just that you needed to first read your information. Only after that will I explain things to you!"

'At the very least the luck I bought isn't so bad since she seems naive but exceptionally talented!' Benjamin Lincoln's thoughts.
