A man has been standing for hours, his face stricken with fear even though his mind was slow on the uptake and couldn't comprehend what was going on!
He did remember a piece of who he was as the Remembrance Trait was working, trying to restore his memories to normal. Sadly the damage was too great, and something beyond the capability of Grand Healing has affected him.
In the Fourth Trial, Elias' mind was taken over and controlled by the Growing Isle, however, the damage was not irreparable but it was something he needed to be awake and work on to heal himself.
Just like now, the intense confusion he has outweighed any kind of knowledge he had and because of that, he can't make any coherent reasoning beyond what a 5-year-old could do.
