"You've killed, how many?"
Anon coldly smiled, saying in a heavy tone, "More importantly, stare at me like that again, and I'll kill you."
He didn't threaten Seth, this was a matter of fact.
Both weren't new to killing.
More appropriately, in this changed world, the act of killing wasn't looked down on or scorned at, as it might have been in prior eras.
Killing animals that had mutated into beasts.
Killing plants that had mutated into plant beasts.
Killing each other, as if humans themselves had turned into humanoid beasts.
"No, no, when I saw you, someone else appeared in mind." Seth was unbothered by Anon's threats.
Right then, he burst forth with inhuman speed towards Anon.
Anon reacted quickly, jumping off the top of the structure he sat on, landing on the ground of the school's rooftop.
Glancing at where he previously sat, Seth had taken seat too.
"Am I some smelly monster or something? Why are you so on guard towards me?" Seth asked in a pained and grievous tone, but his grin made it obvious that he wasn't emotionally hurt.
"It's difficult to relax when an unknown person suddenly appears before you, striking up a conversation with you, and going on to speak of a great many things besides their true intentions."
Hearing this, Seth nodded his head in understanding.
Jumping off the structure, he approached Anon once more.
This time, his grin wasn't present as he adorned a serious expression and said, "The name's Seth, the new transfer student of classroom 5- A."
Glancing at Anon, he continued after seeing the former stare at him silently, "I know, with the final exams being but a month away, a transfer makes little sense, but there's a reason."
A smile played on his lips as emotions flashed through his eyes, uttering, "Where do I even start?"
"Oh, there's a whole story?" Anon's eyelid twitched.
Before Seth could continue, his story was brought to a forced halt.
Approaching the stairwell enclosure, he stated, "I've ditched class because I dislike listening to another's voice for too long."
Clicking his tongue, Anon didn't want to give Seth any chance to speak, "Listening to you would defeat my purpose in the first place, so I should just go to class and save myself from needless punishments."
"But what if I tell you, I've transferred into this school just to meet you?" Seth chuckled.
Just as Anon was about to reach for the door's handle, he heard this, which made his body come to an abrupt halt.
Seth smiled at this and continued, "I'm sure you'll like to hear the story. After all, it involves a beautiful ploy to kill your father, leader of the five Human Martials, the Supreme Commander himself."
Turning to face Seth, Anon's face was indifferent.
Anon stared intently at the first person to mention his father in a while. For a moment, an odd silence permeated the air.
Then, he smiled.
"Hahaha, you said my father?" Breaking the silence, Anon's laughter stretched into the nearby vicinity.
As if coming to a sudden realization, he nodded his head while his amber gold eyes shined with understanding.
"I guess, it's safe to assume that you are knowing of my identity, and yet, you still dare speak without care?"
Frowning, he stepped towards Seth.
It seemed as simple as that...
And yet, with one step, he crossed the several meters that separated them.
In Seth's vision, a fist hurtled toward him, growing larger and larger as it drew closer.
It felt as though he couldn't evade it!
Anon had almost instantly appeared before him, sending a punch that was filled with wonder.
Though his frame was more skinny than muscular, it was compact. To boot, he was nowhere near the realm of a normal human in terms of strength.
A greyish-silvery tint enveloped Seth's irises as he stepped to the left and twisted his body, watching languidly as Anon's left fist slowly moved toward the spot where he had just been standing.
Fully outstretched, Anon retracted his left hand and sent out his right in one fluid motion.
But Seth's reactions, agility, and movements were akin to someone who had glanced into the future, seemingly predicting the area where Anon's fists were fated to hit.
His arms became a blur as over a dozen punches and short jabs were sent out in the following seconds.
The seconds thereafter, the speed of Anon's attacks increased as he clenched his jaw.
A dozen punches in three seconds, then a dozen and a half in two seconds, in a single second, he punched out two dozen times.
Fifteen seconds since the scuffle commenced, Seth's body adorned a dreamlike appearance as he evaded Anon's punches.
Both of their movements were incredible, many times above anything humans of the old world could achieve.
During these fifteen seconds, Seth ducked, dodged, and retreated with visible ease as Anon relentlessly attacked.
His every punch aggressively whipped the wind more violently than the last.
And as if the fifteen second marker was a certain limit, Seth, who was busy evading, sent a kick to Anon's face.
It was sudden, and it was quick, powerful enough to cause a bang to reverberate throughout the rooftop.
The duo's fight came to a halt as Seth's leg remained outstretched, his shin held tightly in Anon's palm.
The amber eyed boy said in a low tone, "You're quick, to the point that it almost seems as if you can see the future."
Pushing Seth's leg away, he took two steps back before stamping his foot on the ground and entering a genuine battle stance.
Anon continued, "But speed is all you have, you hit like a little bitch."
Seth's outstretched leg was pushed away by Anon, but the latter still stood on one leg.
Slowly retracting his right leg, he sighed whilst saying, "You should be more cautious."
"What if I was merely guessing at your identity? The strength you've revealed greatly transcends the average human."
"Such prowess would make it obvious that you're a stellar fighter. Don't reveal it so casually." Saying this, he began circling Anon.
Smiling, he continued, "Then again, you're yet to reveal your true power. Why do you refuse to use it? Eh, don't tell me daddy's boy doesn't think he's worthy enough?"
"Or maybe you dislike your father so much that you refuse to embrace his power? Then what are we fighting for, let's go kill him."
Anon remained unmoving.
His tense muscles relaxed as he turned his gaze to Seth, observing him in silence.
At the same time, Seth was behind him, uttering with doubt, "Then what about using your mother's power. For a human, she was anything but simple, a pity that she was-!"
Anon was seemingly lost in thought only until Seth mentioned his mother.
There was a rhythmic sound reverberating throughout the rooftop as Anon's heart thumped vibrantly in his chest whilst he held Seth by the neck.
The air around him, no, the very environment surrounding Anon's body was contorted appearing chaotic.
"You mention dead mother for a second time…" His voice trailed, but it was obvious what he meant.
"Heh, what are you going to do? It makes me interested when a simple mention of her makes you like this, even forgetting whatever previously preventing you from using your father's power." Seth giggled.
As if forgetting his previous threatening state, Anon's grip loosened as he stumbled back, staring into his palms where multi-colored particles swirled around.
"For fuck's sake."
Glancing at Seth, his amber eyes flashed with a strange brilliance.
He couldn't restrain himself anymore, "Hahaha, you've done it now. My father would've already sensed this. Nothing, utterly nothing can escape his eyes."
"When he investigates what's happened here, wouldn't you who said out loud, to have a story involving my father's end, be in heaps of trouble."
"My father isn't the strongest creature on this planet for joke." Anon chuckled again as the environment around him returned to normal.
"This is good, you should understand that even if you are knowing of certain things, you can't just say anything you please." As he said this, his gaze flashed with a cold light.
"But, no one knows of father's wife, nor of Anon's mother."
"The supreme commander is deeply fixated by his goals, and Anon is an orphan shrouded by a layer of the unknown."
"So, tell me, how do you know what you do?"
