Chapter 8

I was instantly furious. I thanked him quickly and called Nora, but her phone was off.

After two agonizing hours, Nora finally texted me: "My daughter's grave shouldn't be in such a desolate place. I'm taking her abroad. "

I texted her back immediately, but I got no reply.

Nora! Even after our daughter's gone, you still won't let her rest in peace!

I had no idea where Nora had taken our daughter's ashes. In the days that followed, I called her whenever I could, but it was like she'd vanished into thin airno trace of her in my life anymore.

By the time I finally heard anything about her, three months had passed. During that time, I was worn out from missing my daughter and ended up quitting my job.

One day, as I was drinking alone, Nora suddenly came back home, with Julian trailing behind her. She looked completely different from when she leftradiant, with a slight bulge in her belly.

I stared at her in disbelief, but she just smiled and said, "Julian told me that having another child helps you move on from the sadness, so…"

I glared at her. "So you went and got pregnant by this bastard?!"

How can she shamelessly say something like that, as if it made sense?

My daughter! Not only did her selfish mother take away her ashes, but in just three months, she's already forgotten about her and wants to have a child with another man!

"Give me back my daughter's ashes!" I shouted, getting up to rush at them, but Julian stopped me.

Nora motioned for him to leave, and he walked out, closing the door heavily behind him.

She put away her smile and looked down at me. "Ian, our daughter is gone. Why keep torturing yourself like this? You need to move on. "

I sneered. "Only someone as selfish as you would think that way. Don't forget, our daughter's death is your fault. "
