9. Level up

Bart was sitting in his office and had a cigar in his mouth and a big gold chain around his neck. Both of his feet were on the table. In front of him was a fellow gang member with bruising on his face. The gang member was nonother than the guy Abraham has just beaten in the alley and right now he was in front of his gang leader; Bart the Bear.

On Bart's lap, a woman was sitting and by both his side, the second and third in charge of the gang were present.

The gang member was ashamed to tell them that a child had knocked him unconscious, thus he put the blame on the wolf gang. This would create more conflict between them but unknowingly, Abraham was out of the equation.

Inside his room, Abraham had already refreshed himself and now came to sit on the sofa. In front of him, on the table a two litres bottle of water and a glass tube were present. Abraham took the glass tube and after opening it, he gulped it in one go.

A warm sensation traversed Abraham's throat like he was drinking the best liquid possible. It had a sweet flavour and was like a drug that will make one addicted to it. Abraham quickly circulated his Qi around his body and he returned to normal. At the same time, the system popped a message.

[A- blood type has been absorbed]

Drinking the blood of a human brought an increase in stat through the system. In the novel after many tests, certain restrictions and conditions were found. Firstly, different types of blood gave different stat.

A-type represented strength.

B-type gave an agility stat.

AB-type of blood was for stamina.

And the O-type would give a general free stat. It could then be used to increase any one of the three.

On top of that, if Abraham was to be injured, he could heal his hp through the consumption of blood. The restriction was, once blood was drunk from an individual, it would not give any more stat points from that blood.

Right after that, Abraham took the water bottle and after finishing it, the system displayed a message.

Now he just had to wait for his second daily quest to complete. Abraham was satisfied with himself. It had only been three days since he got the system and today he would level up. While waiting, Abraham decided to do his Qi training. Having mastered the first and second stages, Abraham now was training in his third stage and also increasing the size of Qi he had.

Right now, the Qi present inside his body was the size of a volleyball. He wanted one day for it to occupy every space inside him, thus taking the form of his body. The increase in Qi size would also help him to coat his body with the second stage longer. He was able to do a full coating for at most four hours before running out. That's why during the previous day, he had to take cover under a shade while his Qi was refilling during his journey around the "lesser" district.

He would gather the green particles together and continue to increase its size. As soon as his muscles started to hurt it meant that Abraham had gathered too much Qi internally. He would do so repeatedly until his body was able to adapt to the increase in size.

After a few hours, a round of system messages broke Abraham's concentration from meditating.

Without hesitating, Abraham thought of his answer.

Once again, Abraham felt the same pain that happened when he activated the system for the first time.

The pain continued for five minutes while Abraham was pumping his Qi throughout his body. He felt his blood rushing to his heart making it beat faster. He also felt a faint pain sensation happening to his teeth.

Blood swipe: A skill that has a range of 5 meters. It will fire out a red line of energy from the user's hands. To use the skill the user must use their own blood causing -1HP per Blood swipe.

Abraham immediately opened his status screen to look at his new stats.

Abraham's health has increased by 5 percent and the increase in strength was due to the consumption of the gang member's blood. The 5 percent increase was extremely low compared to Quinn in the novel who got a whopping 50 percent. But the differences in their stats may be the cause. Quinn at the start of the system was really weak and not knowing anything about Qi, his health point after level-up was only 15.

As for the 1 attribute point available, Abraham wasn't going to use it for now.

In a sense, the Blood Swipe skill was very much similar to the 3rd stage of Qi. Both released a line of energy from the user's hand. While one would use Abraham's blood the other would make use of his Qi.

Having reached level 2, Abraham decided to also use another perk of the system.

"I wish there was someone to teach me combat," Abraham said with full hope of anticipation.

After the message, the system started a video. In the video, a single tall long-haired blonde man stood in a large empty room. He was wearing two gauntlets on both of his hands. The man was of an unhuman beauty and both his red eyes were glowing.

"Hello and welcome to hand-to-hand combat classes for beginners," The blonde man said in a cheery voice. "I don't know how much time has passed but if you have come across this video, that means you're one of us. And I hope that the information that is being provided isn't useless in your day and age."

The man was none other than Abraham's ancestor. He was Vincent Eno, the vampire who had fallen in love with a Talen and later abandoned his vampire body and became a human.

Through reading the novel in his past life, Abraham also knew he was one of the main contributors to the creation of the vampire system.

"To whomever, this video happens to be shown to, I will now demonstrate a set of skills that you should be able to perform at your level. Our kind and or abilities work best when we use a weapon that covers our hands."

I will cover two sets of basic moves and it's up to you to learn them and figure out how to use them in fights. If you forget, feel free to open up your system at any time and watch the videos again."

"The first move is a defensive move; I call it Flash step. To perform this, if the system has been set up correctly, you will need at least 15 points of agility."

He demonstrated the flash step by crouching down and moving to another corner of the room in an instant, at the same time an afterimage of his was being shown.

"Now this skill uses up a lot of stamina so even if you have enough Agility points to perform this skill, be careful not to wear yourself out. I would only use it when avoiding a fatal blow or going in for an attack. Please also make note that although the move is fast and hard to be seen by the naked eye, at most it can only move you at a distance of five meters."

"The next skill I will show you is the Hammer strike."

Vicent Eno got into a fighting stance and this time he lifted his right foot and slammed it onto the ground while at the same time, he pulled back his left hand and threw out his right hand. All of this was done in one smooth motion.

"Cool right," the man said smiling. "For this skill, you will need at least 15 strength as well. That is all for today, when you are ready, the next set of hand-to-hand combat classes will be unlocked for you. The video ended after that.

Having assimilated the information, Abraham went to sleep. His journey has just begun and some very hectic days were in front of him.
