His Gaze

I adjusted and readjusted on the seat. I was suddenly not comfortable. I felt like a prey under his gaze.

Well, don't bother to ask... Him... He is staring at the back of my neck.

How did I know?

I just know!

Class went on and on with my chest heaving slowly.

Can't wait to leave this class.

The bell soon rang.

Oh, thank you moon goddess.

I hurriedly picked my books and that was when I realized Daphne's eyes on me. "Are you okay?" She asked worriedly and my lips curved into a lopsided smile. I could not bear to cast a glance at him even though I was facing him.

"Yes, what about we go grab some lunch?" I asked her and she nodded her head.

I practically sprinted out of the class even though I tried walking but his preying eyes did something to my legs.

Daphne and I walked to the cafeteria together and we were using the opportunity to know ourselves more.

"My mother is really sick and I don't want her to die. She has been sick for so long." She pointed out sadly.

"I'm so sorry about that. I hope she gets well soon." I said taking a deep breath to calm my nerves.

My little brother, Sky has special powers that could heal people. Thanks to him, we don't visit the hospital because with one touch of his hand and focus, we would be fine.

What if I try to help Daphne's mother. Holy molly! It's going to be very risky.

Suddenly, someone grabbed my wrist scaring the life out of me. That scent. I wasn't even paying attention to it!

I thought he was in the class?!

It was Keiran holding onto me like I was owing him something.

"Let go!" I passively yelled and he scoffed.

"I want to talk to you. You have no choice." He replied and started dragging me along with him.

I turned to see Daphne giving me a calm look and I guess she understood that I needed to leave.

He succeeded in dragging me into the janitor's closet and I could only be enraged and not be able to fight back.

He looked a little bit livid as he leaned against the door blocking the exit.

I noticed how better he looked. He had definitely been working out since I could see stretches of his abs through the shirt. And his hair, they were my favorite to touch. He had been taking good care of it too.

Damn it, Umbrie! This guy left you for six months.

"Are you done punishing me?" I asked rubbing my wrist were he held me before.

"What?"

"Why the heck did you come back? I thought you enjoyed being so away!" I stated and he rolled his eyes.

"You should be happy to see me."

"I have nothing to say to you, let me out." I fussed.

"I'm back, Umbrie. Deal with it. And if you need help with anything especially sexual help, I'm definitely here to help you. You better have some before I leave again." He teased making my skin crawl.

"I will never let you touch me again. You are going to regret having me as your mate, trust me." I threatened holding the door knob.

In a split second, his hand was on mine making me flinch.

"Keiran, leave me alone!" I stressed with every bit of me drowning in sadness.

"See you later." He whispered before I left the tight room.

Luckily, there was no one around to see me exit the place. I quickly found my way to the classroom. My appetite had gone down the drain as well.

I can't believe he keeps doing this to me and it was the second time. I was really happy to have him as my mate when I turned sixteen but unfortunately, he was difficult. A bad boy whom was too difficult to understand.

*After School*

Getting Daphne's address without her knowing was difficult but getting Sky to help me heal Daphne's mother was a way more stressful and excruciating process.

What if he refused to help me or went ahead to tell our parents?

Sky was a sweet soul. An exact opposite of Jared but he could also get crazy with demands when you least expect.

Well, I would try anyway. I decided to talk to him after dinner since he spent the whole evening playing video games with his friends.

I met him in his bedroom while he was arranging his comic collection.

"Sky, I have this friend...." As soon as I lifted my head, a book smashed right in my face.

"Ouch!" I cried out rubbing my nose with my hand.

"You scared me!" He yelped rushing towards me.

Like seriously? If I was something scary, he would have used a book to attack it?

I tried to ignore the stinging pain and go ahead with my request. My nose must be reddish right now all thanks to his book.

He quickly dropped his hand on my nose and instantly, the pain vanished.

"Well, thanks." I blurted still touching my nose.

I took a moment to look around his room. They looked very tidy and organized. Good. I'm not sure mom would look for him to clean his room.

"So, what do you need? Why are you here?" He interrogated with his arm folded.

"You see, there's this friend of mine. Her mother is very ill. I want you to help heal her." I answered.

"Human or werewolf?" He asked looking like he was thinking much about it.

"Human." I replied and he sighed.

"Fine but I can't do it tonight. Unfortunately, Mrs Darfield wants me to read two passages next week. I have to prepare so I don't make a fool out of myself." He said and I heaved a sigh of relief.

"No problem. I wasn't looking forward to tonight anyway. I need to get some rest. First day of the term sucks." I breathed.

I turned around and left the room bumping into my mother.

"Umbrie? Where is Jared?" She questioned looking around.

Oh right! I almost forgot what that jerk asked me to do for him.

"He's with his warrior friends. They must be studying together." I replied and she nodded believing the lie immediately.

"Alright. I hope you are not too tired, I need someone to help me take somethings up to the attic." She stated walking past me.

"I'm right behind you." I replied dolefully.

I really wanted to get to my room and dump myself on the bed..
