"All the things... cough..." Amanda Jenkins cleared her throat, looking nervously at Lucas Griffin, "What are they? You... tell me about them."
Lucas Griffin's brows raised slightly, and he leaned in a bit, his gaze wandering over Amanda's face with curiosity.
Amanda's eyes darted left and right, avoiding his gaze. His eyes were too sharp, as if nothing could escape his sight.
"Could it be that you have some secret you don't want me to know about?" Lucas asked.
"No!" Amanda quickly shook her head, "No, not at all!"
Lucas understood what was in her heart.
He leaned back in his chair, with a slight lift to his lips, "Don't be so nervous; go ahead and eat."
Amanda buried her head and picked up her chopsticks to eat, hoping to ease the guilt-ridden tension. She wasn't bothered by the notion of "not eating unearned food" anymore.
Watching her wolf down her food, Lucas felt a softness in his heart and had already forgiven her previous impertinent behavior.
Every woman has her little secrets. As long as they don't touch his bottom line, he was willing to tolerate everything about her.
Despite knowing she wasn't a simple woman, what did it matter?
He liked her, and that was enough.
"Eat slower, you're like a little pig, utterly without image," Lucas said, pulling out a tissue and reaching out his hand.
Amanda quickly dodged to the side, but he frowned and ordered, "Don't move!"
As if possessed, Amanda obediently stayed still, letting him tenderly wipe away the grains of rice from the corner of her lips.
"That's better," Lucas said, his lips curving into an enchanting smile.
Amanda just rolled her eyes at him and continued to devour her food.
Now on his plane, unless she grew a pair of wings, there was absolutely no escape.
But this did not mean she would just comply!
After eating, Amanda stretched lazily, rubbing her rounded belly with satisfaction and feeling sleepy. She got up and walked to the bed again.
Then something occurred to her, and she stopped, turning back to Lucas, "How long are you taking me to the United States?"
"Depends on my mood," he replied.
Amanda frowned unhappily, a gesture Lucas found extremely adorable.
"I'm going to sleep; don't disturb me," Amanda lay down on the bed.
"Aren't you afraid of what I might do to you?" Lucas asked, feeling a sense of relief in his heart.
Did this mean she had let down her guard and was slowly accepting him?
"I'm on my period, I suppose Young Master Griffin wouldn't have such a strong taste," she said.
Amanda pulled the covers over her head. She had been too exhausted these past few days and felt her head was heavy.
She'd sleep well now, and once rested, she'd make her plans after getting off the plane!
Lucas watched Amanda curl up on the bed, his eyes filled with indulgence.
He too had to attend to some work. He planned to finish his business early in the United States and then take her out for some fun.
For now, he thought, let her rest well. She was his sooner or later; she couldn't escape.
It was strange to say, but although Amanda did not feel much safety or trust towards Lucas, she slept very soundly.
She didn't know how long she had been asleep when Lucas woke her up.
"Lazy pig, time to get up."
Amanda opened her bleary eyes to see Lucas's handsome face magnified in front of her.
For a moment, his gentle smile made her bewildered.
It was undeniable, he was very handsome, especially when he smiled.
Any woman would find it hard to resist such warmth from him.

Once, Amanda Jenkins fell into an unrecoverable abyss because she was bewitched by his smile.
She'd rather die than be fooled again!
Amanda Jenkins quickly sat up, turned her head indifferently, and looked out the window, "Are we there?"
"Yes," Lucas Griffin draped his suit jacket over Amanda Jenkins's shoulders, "It's a bit cold outside. Get some rest at the hotel once we arrive, I'll go handle some work, and tomorrow I'll take you to buy some clothes."
Amanda Jenkins kept a stiff face and didn't speak, but she didn't resist either.
She knew she couldn't escape right now.
As they say, a great man can bend and stretch. A young woman should be able to do the same.
Once she found a chance, she wouldn't be so obediently manipulated by him!
Amanda Jenkins knew that Griffin's Family had a wide-reaching influence, but she hadn't expected it to be the same in the United States.
As soon as they got off the plane, a large group of people greeted them in a grand procession and escorted them to the hotel.
The hotel was located on Wall Street in New York City.
From the way the staff treated Lucas Griffin, it was apparent that this hotel was also under Griffin's Subordinates.
Lucas Griffin held onto Amanda Jenkins's hand the whole time, and perhaps because a woman was rarely seen at his side, the group that came to meet them all looked at Amanda Jenkins with eyes full of surprise and bewilderment.
Amanda Jenkins felt uncomfortable. She tried to pull away several times, but he held on tight, as if afraid she would run off.
She'd naturally experienced Lucas Griffin's dominance.
If she continued to resist, he might just carry her on his shoulder for everyone to see.
It wasn't until they entered the Presidential Suite of the hotel that Lucas Griffin finally let go of her.
Amanda Jenkins angrily tossed off the jacket Lucas Griffin had placed on her.
She really hated this feeling of being led around by the nose!
"Go take a shower and rest; I'll be back after dealing with some work," said Lucas Griffin as he nonchalantly walked to the wardrobe and put on a navy-blue suit.
He was very familiar with this Presidential Suite; it must be reserved solely for him.
"Coming back?" Amanda Jenkins's eyes widened, "You're going to sleep in this room tonight?"
Lucas Griffin didn't reply but instead smirked mischievously and took a step forward.
"I grind my teeth in my sleep, talk in my dreams, and I might even start kicking and punching!" Amanda Jenkins shook her head while continually backing up until her back hit the sofa.
Lucas Griffin suddenly leaned in, causing Amanda Jenkins to bend backward in fear, the distance so close she could feel his breath.
"Being in the same room doesn't mean we have to sleep in the same bed," he teased, "unless you want to sleep with me?"
Amanda Jenkins's cheeks flushed red, and she pushed against Lucas Griffin's chest to keep him from getting closer, "Who... who wants to sleep with you! Lucas Griffin! Can't you stop being so shameless! I don't want to sleep in the same room as you!"
"Then it all depends on how well you behave tonight," Lucas Griffin adjusted his clothes, "If you plan to run, I'll have to tie you up next to me for the night."
"I'm not planning to run!" Amanda Jenkins hurriedly explained.
Lucas Griffin nodded, "That would be for the best, of course."
Did she think her cunning plans could escape his eyes?
Ever since they got off the plane, her eyes were rolling everywhere, and she had that mischievous look. Wasn't she just plotting to find an opportunity to escape?
"Alright, alright, just go and do your work," Amanda Jenkins urged him.
Lucas Griffin glanced at his watch, "I'll be back in about two hours. Call the service desk if you need anything."
Amanda Jenkins was close to losing her mind. He was treating her like a child. The usually cold and noble Lucas was fussing like an old mother, going over various details before finally leaving.
Amanda Jenkins took a deep breath, her bright dark eyes scanning from left to right.
To think she'd just sit quietly waiting for his return, to be butchered at his will?
No way!
