Chapter 12

A month had already passed and so far Laura and Andre had a good relationship and they were taking things at normal pace. They were more like best friends now, well they do kiss, hug, cuddle and snuggle😏. Andre is the one who always takes the initiative to the extent that his assistant always looks away whenever he wants a goodbye kiss from his wife when he's going to work in the morning. Laura once told him to control himself because his assistant was there but his reply was "I don't mind.", and then he continued what he started.

So far Laura was still staying at home. She would wake up early to prepare breakfast for her husband, after he'd gone to work she would find something new in the house to draw and paint and she would show it to her husband when he came back from work. He would praise her work and a big room was cleared for her to hang her paintings. She would sometimes go to her mother-in-law, last week she drew her mother-in-law and grandfather, they both praised her and sent money to her account for a job well done. She was actually a really good artist. Just yesterday, she drew her husband and they decided to hang the painting in their room instead of the little gallery. She had drawn Lisa as well and the woman really appreciated it. Sometimes she would browse through the books in the library or she would go to Andre's study to spend some time and conduct researches on different universities; she still had to further her education. The exams wasn't till around six months. And whenever it was weekends she would either trouble Andre or cook a feast for him or pay attention while he worked or snuggle in his embrace.

Today, Laura had checked the time and it was only a few minutes left before she would see him, she was already standing at the entrance eagerly waiting for him. She didn't have any painting to show him today, she just felt excited to see him and when his car pulled over and he came out of the car, she ran over to him that she almost tripped while she was running. He caught her on time and he chuckled as he pulled her into a hug "Careful..."

"Welcome." She smiled at him and pulled away from him.

"Stop smiling at me and give me my welcome kiss already." He said in a suggestive tone.

She saw Andre's assistant come out of the car as well and she greeted him politely which he replied to. She returned g

her gaze to Andre and she snorted at him "Shameless." She said before she went back inside the house.

"Charles?"

"Hmmm?"

"Women are so difficult to understand." He shook his head while he remembered some time last week when he didn't ask for his welcome kiss. She remained moody for the rest of the day. She only cheered up when they both went back outside and acted like he just arrived from work si he could ask for his welcome kiss. He sent his assistant home and he also went inside the house. The first thing he made sure was that he got his welcome kiss after he found her getting ready for a bath. He let her go first before having his own bath later after she was done. When he came out she was just about to get dressed as she was doing her skin care routine before, so he started a discussion with her.

" Diwali is two weeks from now. My mum and grandfather go to India every year to celebrate it with her family. I stopped following her around five to seven years ago as I have to take care if the business but this year she's insisting that I must cone along because she wants to show off her daughter-in-law."

"Wow. That's nice. I actually love indian culture a lot." She said as she proceeded to pick clothes for Andre after wearing hers, they were both comfortable with having towels on around each other by now.

"We are to leave four days from now because one of my cousins' wedding will be taking place within that period of time so we are technically going for diwali and my cousin's wedding as well."

"I'm so excited." She says as she gave him the clothes she picked for him. "I really can't wait to meet your maternal family. They must be really nice."

"Hmmm... yes they are. They can't wait to meet you too." He tapped her nose and hugged.

"But won't that affect your work?" She asked in a worried tone.

"Yes and that's why I'll be very busy sorting out three weeks worth of with within four days. I'm only going to do the ones that I know I can't do when I get there but it's still a lot of work so I'll be very very busy as from tomorrow and I'll come home very late most times as well. Don't be sad it's only for a few days okay?" He pulled her out of his embrace and searched her eyes for any negative emotion but she smiled at him instead.

"I know you're doing this so that you'll be there for me so why would I be upset. Common let's go have dinner." She said as she held his hand and led her downstairs towards the dining area. Andre smiled at her understanding.

"Your dad is also coming over right, coz this sounds like a family tradition." she asked him as they say down.

"Hmmm... He should come. He has been doing this all these years."

They continued the rest of their dinner in silence and Laura cleared the table with Lisa when they were done while Andre went to his story to finish some work.

After cleaning up Laura went to join Andre in the study. She got behind him and she started massaging his head, she always did this whenever she went to accompany him in his study. After a while, Andre looked up at her and kissed her lips. She chuckled against his lips and told him as she pulled away from him "Focus Mr.Davis."

"But your kiss is my medicine Mrs.Davis." He noticed that she was about to go away when he turned his chair around and he tried to pull her. But before he could do so, she suddenly slipped and fell back. Luckily, She fell on his laps.

"You sat on my lap willingly now and if I try to do something.. you'll call me shameless or a pervert hmmm?" He winked at her.

Laura scoffed as she rolled her eyes and slapped his arm. "Shameless, I didn't sit on your lap on purpose."

Andre check chuckled. "it's late already, let's go to sleep."
