Evolution Pt. 1

It had been 2 weeks since Thaleus had reached level 9 and he had continued his daily quests religiously. He was excited because he had gained quite the following in Gladiator's Colliseum. On top of this he was excelling in combat class and in growing his Ki. He no longer had just a simple fist sized ball at his center. he now had two full layers of Ki which was unheard of in only two weeks. (Layers can continue infinitely it just shows how far theyve come and it increases their aura.) Luckily he had also learned how to hide his aura otherwise this would've raised a few eyebrows from the teachers in the school. Prodigy was an understatement for how quickly this boy could grow his ki. Whenever he wasn't in a fight he was constantly in a zen type state which caused him to grow his ki at a slower rate but it was constant.

Kip had also grown considerably and it was time for him to pick an ability from the academy. His friends and him were in an uproar wondering what they would allow him to pick. The academy had all except gravity and telekenesis pills because those two families refused to give them out. They were already in constant war with each other to keep ahead in power.

On top of all the good news going around word got out that soon the recruit classes would be going on their first beast hunting expedition. It would be duo teams and they woukd split the winning evenly. Kip and Thaleus had already agreed to be partners if they were allowed to choose. This was great news considering Kip would receive his ability before this happened. He had been practicing with all the abilities he could in Gladiator's Colliseum to prepare himself.

Currently Kip and Thaleus were sparring with each other while waiting for a Colliseum tournament. During the last two weeks Thaleus had improved his stats quite a bit with his dailies and was close to level 10 from continued visits to the arcade. He had also helped Kip with his Ki control helping his strength significantly. They were no longer the push overs they had been when walking into the academy. They were slowly bridging the gap of power.

The tournament was about to begin 20 players to start. Everyone who played had their eyes set on the two newbies who had risen in the ranks. The Clockmaster and Shunned Son had made their debut. They both had a massive following as one had no known ability whereas the other one seemed to be able to use every ability available. All those not participating in the tournament had come to see if these two could handle the stronger players. The entire colisseum would be filled, Faction scouts would also be in this crowd to see if they could get an early jump on up and coming talent. This may have been a small time tournament on a video game, but it was by no means a small deal because a few of those participating were no longer students and would pose a huge challenge for those like Thaleus and Kip who happened to be first years.

[Tournament Beginning] The game beckoned the boys into queuing up for the tournament. "Good luck" Thaleus said before dematerializing into the colliseum with the other participants. The crowd went wild when seeing the appearance of the contestants. From the looks of things there was actually a couple thousand people here to watch the fights. Thaleus looked up to see a scoreboard

Thaleus tensed up when seeing this. He had powered up quite a bit over this last couple weeks, however he only recognized Quantum in this tournament so he had no idea what to expect. The only other person he new was Kip (Shunned Son) but he had helped him progress as far as he was right now. He already knew how to beat him. His only worry now was the unkown candidates.
