Wei Hu

Wei Hu followed behind Yang Ding hoping that he wouldn't get detected. But, that worry had no base to begin with! Yang Ding was in the fourth stage of the Ice Profound Realm. With a cultivation base that shallow Yang Ding's physique cannot possibly match with a Sky Profound Cultivator like himself.

Cultivating profound energy not only strengthens one physique, it also heightens the cultivators' senses! With Yang Ding and Wei Hu being three realms apart the difference between them was like heaven and earth! To put it in simple words it would be impossible for Yang Ding to be aware of Wei Hu unless he himself wants it.

But, Wei Hu was unaware of Yang Ding's cultivation base so he couldn't help but be cautious.

He followed Yang Ding as he entered the 'Seer's Woods'. The Seer's Woods wasn't an unknown place to him. As a child, he used to come here often to collect monster cores. Even today disciples of the Lightning Heaven Clan come here to train and collect cores, as this wilderness was relatively closer to the clan.

"What is he planning to do here? Is he here to look for ingredients for his medication?"

But, Wei Hu shook his head immediately at that thought.

"How can the ingredients of such immortal grade drugs be found in this barren mortal lands?"

Wei Hu didn't take a second to contradict himself.

The Seer's Woods wasn't a resource-rich domain. In fact, other than the True Profound Realm beasts and the Ice bear, a beast in the Ice Profound Realm that belonged to its ecosystem, there was nothing of value in these woods.

Wei Hu was lost in his delusions, but what happened next made his mouth agape. Yang Ding was confronted with an Ice profound beast on his way.

"Rooar!"

Ice Bear as they call it. A name fitting for the beast due to its fur color. With bushy fur as white as snow and two fangs protruding from its mouth., it was a cause of fear for many True profound realm disciples who come to train in these woods. With a white belly protruding from its torso it weighed more than a ton! Enough to crush a human by its weight alone.

"Oh Shoot! I hope he isn't in any danger."

Wei Hu was an early stage Sky Profound realm cultivator himself. Even though he wasn't a martial artist but he could at least easily kill an Ice profound beast owing to his cultivation alone without the need for any weapons or martial arts. So, he wasn't particularly worried. If things go south, he could also save Yang Ding if need be.

"Maybe he might accept me as his disciple if I get on his good side." He fantasized in his daydreams.

One thing Wei Hu believed was that a doctor's cultivation base had nothing to do with his medical expertise.

"What sort of glory and respect I will receive if I could just master his medical technique!"

But all of those thoughts were shattered to dust as Yang Ding mercilessly sliced the beasts' throats apart. All of it happened in a few moments making Wei Hu unable to judge what exactly happened, he wasn't able to figure out anything cause he was daydreaming in the middle of the battle.

His face drooped.

"Sh*t I missed it! I wanted to know how master fights!" Wei Hu still wasn't able to come out of his fantasies as he was calling Yang Ding as his master even though the latter hadn't accepted him as his disciple yet.

If Wei Xue were to know the truth that Yang Ding was a quack, to begin with, he might have died from shame.

Another two Ice bears appeared!

"Roar!"

This time Wei Hu made a mental note to take in every glimpse of his self-proclaimed master's fight.

Yang Ding ran towards the two beasts as he leaped mid-air in between the two. Swinging his sword vertically towards the beast's neck he used Sprint Manifestation mid-air as he made a beautiful 360-degree arc that beheaded both the beasts at the same time.

Others might kill beasts for their cores but Yang Ding kills them for experience points. Owing to Yang Ding's stubborn nature, the number of beasts he had killed in the two days span, couldn't be counted in two digits! At this point, he knew everything about the Ice Bear beast, its attack patterns, its prey, its weaknesses, and even its weird attraction to blood. As such it was too easy for Yang Ding to kill them at this point even though he was in the same cultivation realm as them.

But, the same didn't fit right with Wei Hu.

"Master is proficient in using martial arts as well!" He gasped in surprise at the realization. What could be more astonishing for him? He had given up on martial arts at a young age as he felt that he had more talent in the medical arts rather than in martial arts but now…

"And he is using such a bizarre technique I have never seen before!"

Wei Hu might be just a medical expert but he is respected in the cultivation world. As such many clans invite him as a guest of honor in their tournaments. His knowledge of martial arts might be shallow but he has seen scores of battles to know about a plethora of techniques! He might not know the profound knowledge behind them or how to use them in the first place, but he can easily distinguish one technique from another. But, the technique Yang Ding was using was completely new to him.

And why wouldn't it be?

It wasn't a new technique sure, but it was something Yang Ding had imitated from the levitation used by Divine Shing realm experts and improvising it for use by an Ice realm cultivator.

"I wonder what master's cultivation stage might be? Must be at least a mid- Earth stage expert," The elegance and swiftness with which Yang Ding was killing the beasts made Wei Hu misunderstand his cultivation stage.

But, Yang Ding still couldn't make up for his lack of speed and his weak physique owing to having a low cultivation base.

It was then that Wei Hu noticed something strange that made him wrinkle his brows in thought...
