Chapter Text

Momo smiled as she walked alongside Himiko. The blonde girl was dressed in the UA uniform along with a pair of tights and a purple eyepatch with a simple white cat's eye on it. "Are you nervous?"

Himiko smiled and said, "Nope... well, I guess a little. It's been a while since I've been in a room full of people my own age who I don't know."

Momo placed a hand on her shoulder as they approached class 2-A's classroom. "Don't worry, Izuku, Toru, Mina, and I will be there. Come to any of us if you need anything. Now wait here, I have to introduce you."

Himiko raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that the teacher's job?"

"Normally, yes, but I received a message this morning saying they wanted me to introduce you since they would be late. Though I still don't know who they are."

Himiko hummed and immediately felt suspicious about the homeroom teacher. "Weird."

Momo nodded, and the duo stopped outside the door. As Momo opened it and started to walk in, Himiko felt a spike of fear and barely stopped herself from yanking Momo back out into the hallways as the black-haired girl clapped her hands together loudly and smiled.

Class A looked over as their class rep walked in and got everyone's attention. "Hello, everyone. I have a message from our homeroom teacher."

"Oh, do you know who it is?" Denki asked as he took his seat next to Hanta.

"No, I do not. It seems they've purposely kept themselves a secret." Momo glanced over and saw Himiko fidgeting and decided to speed things up. "Anyways, onto what they wanted from me. We have a new student joining us today."

Some of the class noticed Izuku and his girlfriend's smile and perk up a bit while the rest started questioning who it could be. They hadn't involved themselves with any class outside of class B and, of course, the support course, but even then, it was mostly Mei's class they dealt with.

Momo held her hand out and said. "This is Himiko Toga. She is new to UA but not to hero work, so please treat her well but don't underestimate her."

Himiko stepped in and smiled as she put her acting skills to work. "Heyo! I'm Himiko Toga. My favorite things are knives and cute things. I hope we can get along."

The class muttered and talked to themselves, and Himiko picked up a few comments calling her cute and some wondering where she was from. Momo clapped her hands again. "Quiet down now. Toga, your seat is behind mine. Our homeroom teacher should be arriving in a little bit."

The class sat around for several minutes, talking idly. Himiko was glad that they hadn't swarmed her, though she was sure that would happen eventually.

Everyone immediately stopped speaking as the door slid open and Himiko looked around confused by their sudden silence, but she was quickly distracted by Hawks as he walked in with a huge grin on his face. "Hello, class 2-A; my name is Keigo Takami. You can call me Mr.Takami or Hawks if you want. I'll be your homeroom teacher this year."

The class's confused silence was shattered as Himiko stood up and shouted. "What the actual fuck!"

Tenya looked like someone had just slapped his mother in front of him and was about to say something when Hawks laughed. "Come now, Toga, mind your language; you're in class right now."

Himiko stared at him like he had just grown an actual chicken head. "Why are you here? I thought you weren't allowed to be a hero anymore."

The class looked between Himiko and Hawks, who smiled. "You are correct. As you all should know by now, I am no longer a hero. Due to my involvement in the UHD, I was stripped of my license, but I know a lot about the hero world, and I still want to help people, so with Nezu's help, I became a teacher and have taken up a position here at UA. now onto what you all wanna hear about work studies."

Hawks went on to tell them how now that the school year had started, they would be able to pursue work studies again and to come to him if they needed any help. Homeroom proceeded normally, and Hawks left, wishing them luck with their classes.

Himiko and Momo sat down across from Izuku and his partners in the lunchroom. Izuku smiled "are you really still annoyed that he didn't tell you he was becoming a teacher?"

Himiko huffed and grabbed her chopsticks. "He barely visited me while I was recovering, and now he's here acting like nothing is weird about any of this."

"Perhaps Hawks was simply doing his best to be professional and to not let the others know that you two know each other," Momo said.

"Too late," Kyoka said as she and Pony sat down on Momo's other side. "Toga snapping at him when she saw him made everyone suspicious, and just now, you guys spoke like you were the only ones here."

Himiko looked around and realized that all of class A was sitting together around her. If it wasn't for her friends being so close, she would probably feel trapped. Himiko cleared her throat and said. "Ok, sure, I know, Hawks. I... worked with him some last year."

Fumikage hummed. "I did see very little of him during my work studies. I always wondered what he was doing."

Himiko cleared her throat and said. "Sorry, it was kinda an emergency. I'd uh rather not talk about it, though."

Fumikage nodded in understanding, and Himiko's attention was pulled to the other side of the table, as Ochako said. "Yaomomo said you have experience with hero work. What's your hero name?"

"Oh... right. I don't have one. I also need a suit, I guess." Himiko said as she realized she didn't have much of anything that proper heroes would need.

Momo smiled. "It's alright. I'll help you with the paperwork once classes are done. As long as it's nothing too unique, I'm sure they'll be able to get you a costume before our first heroics class."

"Speaking of heroics," Tsu said as she looked at Himiko. "If you don't mind telling us. What is your quirk?"

Fear crept up into Himiko's core. Her quirk was the source of so much trouble in her life. People called her a freak and a monster, and it made her want to hurt people she cared about. Even now, her mind would wander when she looked at her friends, and she would imagine them covered in cuts and bleeding. It was simultaneously an exciting and revolting thing that she couldn't stop herself from thinking.

She could decline to answer, but they would find out eventually. Her eyes wandered over to Izuku, who gave her an encouraging smile. Himiko steeled her nerves and prepared for the worst as she said. "My quirk is called transform. If I drink people's blood, I can turn into them."

"Hm, that would be good for underground hero work, kero," Tsu said simply before she started eating her lunch.

Himiko was stunned as several others agreed, and the conversation moved on. Himiko looked at Momo, who simply smiled before chiding Denki and Hanta for conspiring to start a food fight with class B. Himiko smiled a bit and felt some tension leave her body. Her friends were right, at least for now. She was sure it was only a matter of time until the others found out about her crimes.

Normal classes were just as dull as Himiko remembered. It almost felt like the teachers each had their own unique way to make the day's lesson just a little difficult to pay attention to. She was glad once they were done with and she let Momo lead her to the teacher's lounge to retrieve the various paperwork for Himiko's costume and hero name, which she was going to need to start thinking about.

As the girls entered, Momo said. "I'll go ask Power Loader for the papers. I assume you want to talk to Hawks."

Himiko nodded. "Thank you, Yaomomo."

The blonde girl marched up to Hawks, who was sitting at a desk next to All Might; the former number one was showing Hawks how to properly fill out some forms. Himiko cleared her throat, and the two men looked up at her. "Hi, I need to talk to Hawks."

All Might nodded and stood. "Of course. Um, good luck."

"Which one of us?" Hawks asked as All Might made himself scarce.

Himiko glared at the man before her expression softened, and she muttered. "You didn't visit me. I get you were busy, but you also didn't tell me anything."

He did look guilty, which Himiko thought would make her happy, but it didn't. She just felt bad for complaining, especially considering what he was dealing with, but she couldn't help it. Hawks may have been the one to kidnap her, but he also saved her from the UHD and worked with her to take it down and get her back to her friends.

"Sorry, kid. I tried to get away as often as I could, but there was a lot of legal stuff going on. As for not telling you about me being a teacher, I figured making it a surprise would be kinda funny, but..."

Himiko huffed. "Well, I was surprised."

"Did your classmates ask about how you know me?"

Himiko nodded. "I just said I worked with you last year and that it was an emergency. You should also make sure to the guy you took on for work studies."

Hawks sighed and scratched the back of his head. "Tokoyami, and yeah, I did take him on for work studies, and I barely taught him anything while he was under my care."

Himiko looked over and saw Momo had retrieved the forms. "I need to get going. Good luck with teaching Hawks."

Hawks chuckled and was about to send her on her way when he remembered something. "Did Nezu say anything about taking the licensing exam?"

Himiko stopped and turned back. "Yeah, once I'm caught up on my extra lessons, he'll consider getting me into an exam."

"Well, good luck with all your studies, Himiko. I hope you have a good time here at UA."

The blonde girl hummed and thanked Hawks before joining Momo by the door and listening to her go over the forms while they headed for the dorms.

"So that's everything you need to know for the hero costumes. Now about your hero name." Momo said as the two girls worked at one of the dining tables in the dorms.

Himiko sighed. "I had a codename back in the UHD, but... I can't use that even if it was cute."

The blonde looked up to see Momo's surprised look. "You were in the UHD?"

Himiko groaned internally as she nodded. Why was she just casually dropping bombs like that whenever she talked to Momo. "Yeah... I was one of the people forced to work there. They called me Changeling."

"I suppose that fits, given your quirk," Momo said as she rubbed her chin. "But um... I guess the name brings back unpleasant memories."

"Yeah, it does," Himiko said flatly as she looked at her paper. "I'll think on it for now. I don't have a license, so it's not like I can go do hero work anyways."

"That's right, you said you needed to finish your supplementary classes first. when do you start them?" Momo asked as Himiko packed the paperwork up.

"Nezu's overseeing them, so it'll start tomorrow," Himiko explained as she tapped her pen against the paper.

Momo nodded. "Well, if you ever need help with your studies, I've been told I'm quite good at teaching."

Himiko giggled a bit and said, "I'll keep that in mind... thank you for being so helpful, Yaomomo."

Momo smiled, and Himiko couldn't help but smile a bit as well. The girl's enthusiasm for helping others was infectious. "It's nothing, Toga. I enjoy helping others."

Himiko sighed. "You can just call me Himiko, you know. We're friends, after all."

Himiko took note of the faint blush as Momo nodded. "Of course, Himiko. I don't mind if you call me Momo either. Though Izuku said you like nicknames, so I expect you'll continue to call me Yaomomo."

Himiko shrugged as she flashed Momo a toothy grin. "I'll switch it up every so often. Keep things fresh."

Izuku sat in the common room and kept an eye on Himiko as she talked to Momo. He was full of concern for his friend ever since she got a clean bill of health. He knew something was up, but Himiko had always been the best at avoiding conversations that could lead to her talking about what she didn't want to talk about.

Pink arms wrapped around his neck as Mina rested her chin on his shoulder and whispered. "Should I be jealous of how much you're looking at those two?"

Izuku leaned his head against Mina's as he spoke quietly. "No. I'm just concerned about Himi. I'm glad she's getting along with Momo but still... She refuses to go anywhere alone, and she's not acting like herself. She's more reserved and less sociable than usual."

"Yeah, I noticed... she was always skittish if it was more than the three of us around her, so that could be it. As for her not wanting to be alone." Mina sighed, and Izuku saw the sadness creeping into her eyes. "We still don't know everything that happened to her in the UHD. Being alone could be... painful or scary for her now."

Izuku hummed as he watched Himiko. The blonde caught his eye and wiggled her eyebrows before winking at them. Izuku sighed. "At least she can still do that."

Mina giggled. "Yeah. Come on, let's go to bed. Toru's already up there."

Izuku glanced at Himiko, and Mina kissed his cheek as she said. "Momo's right next to her, and we're in the dorms. I'm sure everything will be ok. Now come on, you know how Toru gets when she wants to cuddle."

Izuku conceded and stood from his seat as he headed upstairs. He gave a small wave to Himiko and Momo, who returned the gesture before continuing to speak.

Notes:

Himiko chapter showing her starting school. after this... I have to decide plot stuff so I'm sure you're all excited to see what Shade is up to. that also means Izuku and someone else will be getting more focus.

if you were to write a summary of Hypno what would you write?

Fanfic idea talk time. this is one I'm seriously considering writing after Hypno. do ya'll remember that one fic I talked about where Izumi has a scary transformation quirk and she meets Nemuri and the fic was mostly going to be about Nemuri helping Izumi get better mentally and all that.

well, I have expanded on that idea. originally it was going to be a Nemuri aged down to be in the class A that we know and love. I have changed that idea. what if instead, the fic took place when Nemuri and her peers were kids. Izumi could go to UA with Mic, Nemuri, Aizawa. pros would be students and all that.

another thing is the fic was originally going to be an Izumi/Nemuri but then I thought poly and some other things and now I'm thinking Nemuri/Izumi/Oboro.

after covering some plot and stuff I could move the fic forward in time to the class A we know and love and have Izumi be the heroics teacher.
