I Was Hugged By A Vampire

MSG – Volume 1 – Chapter 6

'Sigh… If I do not come down to eat with them, they would say that I am being disrespectful and prideful. The Count would say that I am not cooperating with his efforts and that I should try my best. The whole 'friendship goes both ways' speech and all that.' Sol thought.

'And when I do come down…' he glanced up from his plate as he heard the head of the house call his name while talking to his family. 'This happens.'

He turned his attention back to his plate of food, finishing the last cluster of rice.

With that done, he stood up while dabbing his mouth area with a napkin.

Once he was done with that and looked up again, he found everyone's eyes on him; all with varying expressions.

"Solon, my boy, I—" the Count started to speak but Solon interrupted.

"This was indeed a quite more exciting meal than what I would have had if I remained in my room." he said. "Thank you, for the meal."

Saying that with a slight bow, Solon turned around and started making his way out of the dining hall.

As he walked on, he overheard some words of dissent from those he left behind.

"This brat!" One of them hissed in dissatisfaction.

"Husband! You see that?! This Solomon fiend is really not a good thing!" He recognized that voice. It was Maya's.

"Indeed! You say that your rules are fair but if it was my little Alex that said it, he would be in for some punishment! This runt deserves to be brought down a few notches!"

"Exactly! He dares to interrupt your speech and walk out on you!"

An irritated expression appeared on the Count's face as his gaze finally snapped off the retreating Solon and onto his family members.

"Enough!" he roared, clearly dissatisfied by their behavior. "It seems that I—"

This was the last that Solon heard of what happened in the dining hall.

Shaking his head slightly, he ignored the guards and other staff that were on standby.

All of them had varying expressions on their faces as they looked at him.

Most of the guards looked down on him since they could use magic while the maids and butlers had a mixture of pity and some comradice since they were unable to use magic like him, or at the very least not talented at using it.

He did not head back to his room but towards the family's main library.

There was apparently another smaller and more private one but only a select few of the family members had access to it—not even all of his wives and children did.

Making his way down sections of the library, he eventually came to a stop in front of one of the shelves.

There was a ladder nearby which he climbed and made his way to the second to the top layer of the shelf.

All the books on this level all looked the same, bearing the same title, Tale of the Emotionless God and His 555 Baby Mommas, but with the only difference between them was the distinct yellow inscription of numbers on their edges.

Amongst the green hardbacks, he picked out the one with the numbering XI, which indicated that it was the eleventh volume of the series.

As he took a step down, having gotten what he came for, he suddenly froze.

Turning his head to look towards his right, he sighed and said;

"What do you want this time A—"

He swallowed his words as soon as the right foot of whoever was coming out of the portal that had just appeared came out of said portal.

That very light brown skin that was reminiscent of African Americans back on earth gave away the identity of the person; and it was not the Goddess of Night and Death.

Soon, the person came into full view, having the portal closing behind them.

Standing at a height of 5 feet and 6 inches, she had a slightly athletic figure and a cute face.

She was wearing a gray sundress that went well with her blue eyes and complemented her bob cut black hair.

"Damn it, Solly! What's with that expression?! Are you not happy to see me after we've been apart for what felt like forever?!"

These were the first words that came out of her mouth as she laid eyes on him and subsequently dashed over to him, in the air, and hugged him before he could break out of his reverie.

"Hehe!" she giggled as she rubbed her face in his chest, sniffing him audibly.

"Ah~!" she exhaled with audible euphoria as she ignored the ladder that had made a loud sound upon falling to the ground.

"Cyanea." He blurted out her name as he felt himself still at the same height above the ground as he was when he still had the ladder for support.

With her arms locked around his body, he would not fall unless she let go.

"Hmm? Why are you not hugging me back?! Hug me!" she demanded.

"…Sigh." He did as she requested and returned her hug. "Why did you make it sound like we have been apart for years on end? It has only been a week."

Looking up into his platinum color pools, she pouted and answered; "Hmph! It was not 'just some week'. It felt like forever! I never knew that becoming one of the Generals of the Demon Army would be so troublesome!"

"*Scoff* Becoming a General… or holding any leadership position for that matter, is not an easy thing." Solon said. "People often think the Presidents have it easy but, that is not the case. They have a lot of burdens to bear too. Only a lazy and truly incompetent one would claim to not."

"President?" The blue-eyed female with the appearance of a cute teenager dwelled on that particular word.

"Oh, it's something akin to Kings and Emperors." He explained.

"…. I see." Cyanea nodded in understanding.

"Ok, so can we go down now?" he pointed out the fact that she was still hugging him tightly in the air. "I would not mind listening to what's been happening in the Demon Realm all this while."

"Oh… Right." A look of realization came upon her face. "Teeheehe. Can't we just stay like this a little longer?"

"Cyanea…." He said, exasperated.

"Tch. Fine." She pouted as she brought floated down.

As he placed the book aside and turned to lift up the ladder, she began to speak about what had happened in the past week in the Demon Realm;

"So, where to begin…"
