The room feels smaller today. There are more guards in the room than when Jaggar was in there. Cadence and Lucas step forward as the guards get Alfonso settled in the same uncomfortable chair that Jaggar was in.
I find my same corner of the room, hoping to hide in the shadows for the most part. When the door to the room closes, shutting us all in, I start to regret my decision to be a part of this interrogation. It feels like there isn’t enough air in the room for all of us to breathe. I know that isn’t the case and is only my anxiety trying to tell me otherwise. Lucas looks over at me and I have to avoid eye contact because I know he will see how I’m feeling and will want me to leave the room. I try to take deep breaths as I watch one of the guards unlock Alfonso’s handcuffs.
“So what was the plan, Alfonso?” Cadence starts the questioning first. Alfonso rubs his wrists as the handcuffs are taken off. He takes his time before looking up at Cadence.
