Knocking on Deaths Door I

He noticed the monsters catching up, so he stabbed his knife through the cave wall, running until the walls became weak that it went crumbling smashing all the monsters all at once.

Just when he thought he could take a break from the frightening episode that just occurred, he looked at the other side of the dungeon to see a few more monsters popping out of every open hole at that corner.

He felt a rush of adrenaline when he spotted those monsters crawl out of the hole, he just killed a few and thought to add more to his kill count, as an adventurer this is something he was thrilled about.

"Hey, this way! Am right here! Hey!" He tried getting their attention but they didn't pay him mind,  he took his dagger and started scraping it against the wall that created a screeching sound each time he grinds it against the stones.

They all turned, the loud screeching sound got their attention, not wasting any time the monster charged towards Souta, he jumped down from the not so high edge he was standing on. 

He then sliced and stabbed, killing every monster that came his way, "20…, I killed quite a few yet it doesn't seem like I leveled up one bit" He thought to himself, opening and closing his palm to see if he felt any different.  

"Maybe if I raid a few more times it will kick in," He brought out his adventurer's id card and saw that the sun symbol is almost completely dark, "I better call it a day, seems like it's getting late".

He skipped out of the dungeon, smiling with so much joy, he planned to sell all the crystals he got after he killed all the monsters. The monsters he kills turn into crystals after they have been killed, and can be used to exchange for money.

He made his way to the adventurer's guild to change his crystals to Lev which is what they call their money. On getting there he saw a few adventures leave with a big bag of money in their hands.

"Next! Next!" The old dwarf yelled, he had an angry look on his face, it didn't take much for Souta to know he was grumpy.

"Yes" he hastily moved towards him, dumping all the crystals he had gotten from on the counter.

"Miss Hina!" He ran into his guild yelling, carrying the face of a child who just won a lottery on him.

"Isn't that Souta" Hina thought to herself, she jumped up from the couch she has been lying on since when Souta left in the morning.

He burst open the door, "Guess what? I went on my first raid today, and if you think that's cool" he opened up the bag of coins he got from the exchange guild, "Tah daah!" he yelled giving Hina a happy smile.

Hina yanked the bag from Souta's grip, she threw it up catching it multiple times, "This should be around" she paused for a second as her face when into a shocked state. "Five thousand Lev Souta, how did you get all this" she asked, grabbing his cloth while pushing him back and forth.

"It's the reward I got from my first raid" he gently removed her hand from his top collar, "Let me tell you all about it".

"At first I thought that he was joking or he was going to run away but it seems like he's really serious about being part of my guild" she thought to herself as Souta was explaining to her how his first raid went by making body movements.

Tears rolled down her eyes as a small smile made its way to her lips, "Miss Hina, what's wrong? Did I say something wrong" he fumbled, speaking in a soft tone to try and calm her down.

"Don't worry about it, it's nothing" she wiped her tears off her face using her bag of money that was with her, "What were you saying?" she smiled.

He smiled back, jumping on the couch as he began acting out what happened in the dungeon, Hina burst out in laughter as she watched Souta tell his story with every bit of joy he had.

*Ten hours before the incident where Souta gets attacked by monsters*

It was the Aramoor dungeon boss raid day, this was the day when adventurers try to clear the tenth floor of the dungeon and defeat the boss of that floor.

Every adventurer from different popular guilds all got ready for the day when they'll take down the tenth-floor boss together and the day had finally arrived.

Even beginner adventurers planned to join this big raid, while some put themselves through intense training others sought to buy stronger weapons to upgrade their gear.

Souta still had no idea what was going on, he met adventurers from different guilds gathered at the center of the city, celebrating and throwing in a festival party.

Souta walked in, "Miss Hina what is going on outside" He wondered, the festival seemed too lively to be something that a single person throw together

"Oh, I guess you wouldn't know since you just arrived at Aramoor a few weeks ago" She exclaimed, walking out of the shower with her under boobs showing and the towel hanging around her neck.

He quickly turned his face, before blushing out at the lewd state he just saw Hina in, "I- I wish I could take part in the raid but at my current level, I'll probably just be a dead weight" he moved closer to the window watching them party before giving a sad smile.

"Don't' feel down Souta someday you'll be able to take part in it and represent our guild" She tried cheering him up by using her hand to scatter his hair before turning back to get dressed.

He ran to her giving her a tight hug from the back, "OH thank you Miss Hine" He smiled and tightened his hold on her.

"Oh sure, anytime " Her face turned beet red when she unexpectedly got a hug from Souta, the fact that she was topless and only had a towel on her made it worse.

"Well, I'll be heading out to raid now" he grabbed his back from the couch, "see you when I get back" he smiled running out of the door.

"Yeah take care" she feels to the couch with her face still beet red from the hugging incident that happened earlier, "I think I need another shower" she thought to herself.

*20 minutes before the incident where Souta gets attacked by monsters*

The sound of a loud trumpet being blown echoed throughout the festival calling everyone's attention to the chubby King of Aramoor who stood at the entrance of the guild house.

"Attention everyone, it is safe now for all low-level adventures to proceed into the dungeon" The king spoke after all the high ranking adventurers had gone in and ensured the safety of the dungeon, opening the entrance to the dungeon before taking his leave.

"Well, that's my cue" Souta stood up from the bench and marched into the dungeon. He immediately proceeded to kill most of the monsters that were on that floor.

"All right done" he exclaimed feeling a bit exhausted, he had just defeated close to 12 monsters, although they were at a lower level they still packed a punch.

He started picking all the crystals he got after he killed a monster, but just when he thought he could take a break he noticed that the ground began to rumble.

Souta wondered if the sound and the shaking happening was the cause of a soon-to-be earthquake or the vibration caused by the other adventurers taking on the 10th-floor boss.

He suddenly felt a huge presence standing behind him, he slowly turned his head to see what it was only to find out that a massive orc was standing behind with his blade ready to strike.

The orc gave out a loud shriek before striking its blade.
