Chapter 37: Take a Chance or Regret

When the five of us were together it was fine. We often get together after work, there's also the time when the three of them get together and it's just the two of us and Keisha. Our day continues like that like already around a month since Maxine took care of her wedding with her fiance. We didn't realize how time flies so fast, at night it's either five of us or just two of us with Keisha who will call or join on a video call. Keisha's been in my house like every day, in one week she's in my house for four or five days.

As usual, the three of them are still flirting with each other, Jeanneth seems to be enjoying herself tho. She's not contacting like before, for Kiel, doesn't go clubbing or drinking alone anymore. He's always attached to Jeanneth, he's also always taking Jean home. That's the only one with Sebastian. For Sebastian, he's still the same but sometimes his funny side comes out of nowhere. He's such a good kid.

Before we knew the month passed by, Kiel And Keisha's birth month came. They are both August babies, Keisha's birthday is in the first week of August. while Kiel's birthday is in the second to the last week of the month. Jeanneth's birth month is April, Maxine's is November, Sebastian his is December, and I am January.

Weeks before Keisha's birthday her family was already busy for Keisha's birthday. For every member of their family birthday is important. A week before Keisha's birthday they're already preparing. Keisha seems not excited or expecting her birthday, and that's when we're talking about her birthday I suddenly understand all of her actions right now. Instead of helping or going home to help his parents with the preparations, he was always in his office every day until midnight.

I can't look at her reaction anymore, I step forward and talk to her. I knocked on her door and entered before she even spoke.

"Darling, are you there?" I am talking while entering her office.

"Yes, come here." She said when I fully entered her office I locked the door and sat down.

"Darling it's already late, stop working let's do it tomorrow. Also, we didn't have so much work for now, you need to take care of your body." I said to her while she was looking at her paperwork.

"If that's what you want, I'll stop." She smiled and put aside the paperwork.

"Can we talk? All of the employees have gone home, it's just two of us so um, can we talk?" I asked and she answered me with a question.

"What do you want to talk about?" and I bluntly answer "You, I can't just stand looking at my girlfriend like that and I know what bothers you so you hope we can talk about it. Please be open to me, I'm all ears." I said to Keisha.

"You know already I just don't want to, as years and years will pass by my marriage will come. I'm scared, it's not like I don't like Kiel but I don't want to lock myself to him. We also both know that we are not in love with each other." Keisha said

"I don't want to be rude but why don't you talk to your parents about that? I know it may be impossible 'cause I also know what kind of mindset your parents have but what makes a commitment? There's nothing wrong with trying, it is just talking to your parents. You might be upset about what I'm saying like it's simple but trust me I know it's hard for you. Take a chance or regret it in the future, all consequences are based on your decision. Whatever you take I'm always here for you." I said to Keisha.

"I understand but darling I'm scared, I don't know what kind of happens after the decision I made. How about just Kiel canceling the wedding? It's not like he also wants it, I know he cares for Jean so maybe he can do it." Keisha says with scared in her eyes.

"Sweetheart, do you even hear what you're saying? Do you want to pass it all on to Kiel? You're both in a situation you also don't want to. Work with him, be brave darling. You are already at the age to know what is right and wrong. Stand on your own feet, and accept all the outcomes. Accept what will happen, accept days, months, or years to come. No one can stop that so just go with the flow of life. Whatever decision, whatever happens, whatever outcome I always stay to your side. Whenever I get hurt, all I wish is for your happiness. That's what I want and that's what I'm always wishing for. I'm also not saying to you that you have to talk to your parents about your wedding for now. What I'm saying is to accept and embrace the years coming by. Appreciate what your parents doing for you, they might be selfish but for now, all of their doing is for you darling." I smiled at Keisha and she slowly smiled at me.

"Thank you for everything, I'm trusting you to not leave me. I love you." she smiled and stood up and walked in my direction and hugged me.

"I love you, Keisha." I hug her and kiss her on the forehead.

"For now, let's go home. I'll take you home. No, but for now, just take your belongings, and let's go home." I said to her and I stood up waiting for her.

She smiled at me and said "Yes darling"

We left the company, I said to her to wait for me in front and I'll be taking my motorcycle. I went to the parking lot and looked for my motor, I rode and went where Keisha was After I dropped her at their house I straight went home, took a quick shower, and went to bed. Hoping that Keisha cheers up to what was were talking about just minutes ago.
