Chapter 63 - A Date?

When walking into his dorm, Chris and Mark were surprised to see him, as they thought that he would be gone longer while closing the gate in London.

"Hey man, welcome back," Chris said, "How'd the gate clearing go?"

"Good I think," said Milo with a bit of a distant look in his eyes.

"Everything ok?" asked Mark after seeing Milo's response

Milo went on to explain where he had been all day after returning from his in-field experience. Hearing the tale of Milo and Maria's interactions the too started laughing hysterically which confused Milo even more.

"Dude, it sounds like you went out on a date," said Chris before clapping Milo on the back.

"Are you sure?" replied Milo.

"Definitely sounds that way, but the only way to know for sure is ask Maria yourself," said Mark.

Milo was confused as to why Maria would like him, he had scraggly hair, and when they met before going to close the gate, they did nothing but butt heads. He finally had Chris and Mark to ask them the question he was wondering for awhile now, mainly since he got promoted to the X ranked class.

"Why would she like me though, out of all the other people in the school?" he asked.

Chris nearly spit out the drink he had taken a sip of after hearing Milo ask this. "You're kidding me, right? Did you not get girls in high school?"

Milo shook his head no and blew Chris's mind again. Milo then proceeded to pull out a photo of him from high school, one from before his system transformation. When looking at the photo, Milo could tell he had gotten more handsome. In the photo his hair was just as scraggly as it was now, only a little shorter, he had pimply skin, and looked about two inches shorter. The biggest difference was his build, he was now quite built but, in the photo, he looked like a twig.

When looking at the photo, Chris's jaw dropped. "That's you? No way," he said. After Milo nodded in affirmation he said, "dude have you looked in the mirror lately, aside from the hair almost any girl would consider you a dream boat. You should try asking the girls what they think about you, I think Krista would be able to tell you how much of a glow up you had, since you've been friends since you were kids."

After hearing Chris's suggestion, Milo called up Krista and Allana and asked them to meet up with the guys and him at the lounge of the Sim Room and asked them the same question.

"I mean you definitely are attractive, but you aren't my type," replied Allana, "what about your thoughts Krista?" she asked with a mischievous grin.

Being both Krista's roommate and friend, Allana had picked up on all the subtle hints she had been trying to drop to Milo, who was still hopelessly oblivious.

Krista's face turned beet red, before she said, "I mean sure, he looks good I guess."

Milo as always didn't pick up on any of the signs and shrugged before going to the snack bar to get himself something to drink. When he walked away Allana turned to Krista and said aloud, "You're gonna have to make the first move, he is totally oblivious."

Chris and Mark had a feeling that Krista had feelings for their roommate but thought that it wasn't their business to tell him.

"Okay, but what do I do? What happens if he doesn't feel the same way? Wha-," before she could overthink it anymore, Allana cut her off and said one simple line.

"Just tell him how you feel and go from there, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
