CHAPTER SEVEN:ON THE EDGE

Martha interview him SAM said or you know what let me do it my self at a point Richard felt terrified by Sam and also relived that he came to he's rescue he didn't know why but he was grateful but looking at Sam he's no nonsense man by what he wore. a thick expensive italian suit Martha brought out a chair for him as he pulled out a cigarette lit it up and smoked .

Martha seemed a bit surprised when Sam told her to interview Richard, but she recovered quickly and led Richard to a seat. Sam sat down beside her, looking every bit the man of mystery with his thick Italian suit and cigarette. He seemed composed and in control, which made Richard feel even more nervous. But he knew he had to take this chance, no matter what. He looked at them , ready to answer there questions.

Sam looked Richard in the eye and said, "Let's get something straight. Being a bodyguard isn't easy. You have to be devoted and reliable, no matter what. Even if it means sacrificing your life to protect your boss. We'll pay your family well if anything happens to you, but I want to make sure you understand the risks involved. This isn't just a job, it's a way of life. You have to be ready to go above and beyond for the people you protect. Do you still want to do this?" Richard took a deep breath, considering everything Sam had said.yes sir he said

Well I like your courage ,so I want to ask you what makes you think we should trust a 19 year old boy to protect a professional body. Sam asked looking at Richards documents as he smokes

Well while growing up I learnt that my dad was a great person and one thing he liked and never regretted doing was saving people and also keeping them safe he died doing that he was ones a soldier and he inspired me alot to be able to help people anyway i can no matter the cause and the only way I can be closed to him is being a body guard.

"I appreciate your candor," Sam said, taking another drag of his cigarette. "It's clear that you're passionate about helping people and carrying on your father's legacy. But that doesn't answer my question. What makes you think you're ready to take on this kind of responsibility at such a young age? I'm not trying to discourage you, but I need to know you're ready to handle the pressure and the risk involved." Richard looked at Sam and took a moment to compose his thoughts. "You're right, I'm young and I don't have much experience," he said.

"Let me be clear," Richard continued, his voice unwavering. "I may not be the smartest or most experienced person here, but I'm resilient and determined. I've been through a lot in my life and I've learned to persevere through hardship. I have never had friend who could be supportive to me in any way , but I know I can make it in this field because I have the drive to succeed. And if you give me a chance, I'll prove it to you." Richard's passion was evident in his words, and Sam considered what he'd said.

"I admire your enthusiasm and confidence," Sam said with a smile. "But I need to be clear: This isn't an interview for a bodyguard position, it's for a training program. The program is rigorous and intense, and not everyone who starts it will finish it. You'll need to prove that you're not only physical strong, but also that you have the mental and emotional fortitude to see it through. Can you handle that?" Richard's confidence didn't waver. "I understand that it won't be easy," he said. "But I'm not giving up. Well you can leave now Sam said.

"Thank you for your time," Richard said, standing up to leave. As he turned to go, Sam added, "Remember, if you get a letter next Friday, it means you made it into the program. If not, then I wish you all the best in your future endeavors." Richard nodded and walked out the door, already counting the days until Friday. He knew it would be a long week of waiting and wondering.
