Chapter X

After a half hour of walking through the forest we finally reached the plains, with Whiterun in the distance. I still remember the first time I played the game, and when I saw the city for the first time I was in awe.

Now I see the city in the distance for the first time as a real place, natures finest elements begin to coincide in the most perfect harmony. Petals and leaves blow and the rays shine in the area revealing Whiterun in a beautiful set up that was so perfect that it belonged in a painting.

I couldn't stop smiling, and a tear rolls down my eye, as I start to remember that innocent little kid in me experiencing this sight again, only now I'm actually here.

Hadvar sees this and grows concerned.

Hadvar: Alexander are you ok? Why're you crying?

I rub my eyes and laugh.

Alexander: It's nothing to worry about Hadvar. It's just, where I came from, I could never see something this beautiful up close. It's a tear of joy.

Hadvar couldn't help but chuckle.

Hadvar: Surely where you lived before must have some beautiful sights.

Alexander: Plenty, but at that point I wasn't at the age to appreciate them until it was too late.

Sven: Where exactly are you from sir? If you don't mind me asking?

I grow a little tense.

Hadvar: I'm kind of curious myself. Clearly you can't be from Orsinium, but it's gotta be somewhere in High Rock right?

I start to sweat profusely as I try to think up another way to bullshit this. It'd be so much easier to just say I'm from High Rock but I only know so much about that damn country! Hey Author! Got anything?

Author: You're on your own bro.

Alexander: Come on! Is it really so bad to help your main character?!?

Author: You don't seem to realize the fact that because your my main character I have to make sure you struggle. Be glad I didn't give you trauma…yet.

I start panicking but then a loud crash can be heard and I see Aela and the companions fighting the giant, who for some reason is doing a good job resisting them!

Alexander: LOOK A GIANT!!! THEY NEED OUR HELP!!

The others charge forward as I sigh with relief and follow my allies.

As I run towards the giant, I swear the behemoth grew bigger, until I finally reach him and the sinking realization hits me, this is an enemy I'd have to be at least level 20 to beat. And I'm not even there yet.

The giant sees me and in a rage swings its club towards me.

Alexander: Oh Shi-!

Not a second late I'm pushed to the ground, with the club barely scraping my chin. I open my eyes, and right in front of me was Aela.

The game did her looks dirty! Here she still fancied her usual ancient Nord armor of course, but other then that she looked different!

Her hair was much cleaner then how I usually see it, you could practically be blinded by the light from its sheen! Her figure was thin but strong, with her muscles very defined, and her skin smooth and tan, like coffee cream. And I kid you not, she somehow smelled just as good as coffee cream. How is that even possible!? Wait does Skyrim have coffee?!

Aela: Get your act together pal! I like your spirit! But you can't be running like a jackass towards a giant!

She grabs my hands and with little to no effort picks me back up, then pulls out her sword then charges at the giant, parrying blows from the monster, ducking and rolling, and slashing any exposed areas to weaken the giant.

Remember when I tried pissing off the Imperial captain bitch? Yeah what I said about strong women was not a joke.

Alexander: I am so damn turned on right now.

Hadvar: Uh…sir?

Alexander: Ah! Uh…I mean…*Ahem* Yes?

Hadvar: Did you not say we were helping this lot?

Alexander: Right! Uh…surround the giant! And wait for my signal!

Hadvar: Right!

Hadvar, Sven, and Redcap do as I say, meanwhile Farkas and the other companions witness this confused.

Farkas: What're you doing? You're just going to piss the giant off!

I take a bow in a regal way as I face the companions.

Alexander: Forgive me, my name is Alexander Skyfield. I am a humble traveler and researcher on a mission that could save Skyrim and perhaps all of Tamriel! Consider this my introduction and application to join your legendary group! For I am an admirer of the Companions.

I turn to face the giant with a wide grin and take out my 2 one handed axes.

Ria was the first to question this with the other two companions.

Ria: Hang on! He's not going to fight that giant up front is he?

Farkas: He must be a seasoned warrior then if he is. Even I tend to try distancing myself sometimes with giants.

Aela: He's brave but a fool, we need to back him up!

Hadvar holds out his hand with a smile, looking back to me.

Hadvar: Trust in our leader. He made a plan for this.

I slowly walk up to the giant and lower my axes towards my lower back, where a small container is hanging.

Alexander: This world isn't like the game, here I can do whatever, make whatever, say whatever. That means I can even fight the way I want.

On both ends of the container, chains were hanging, and I hook them up to the hilt of both my axes, then draw them out.

Alexander: These chains helped me realize that I need to utilize and take advantage of this, in order to survive this world.

I lower the axes to the ground, then begin to swing them using my chains rapidly, creating a small breeze around me.

The companions look at me in confusion while Hadvar and the others smile.

I swing the chain around, catching the giant off guard, while defending itself I rapidly run to get behind it. The giant sees that I am missing and turns around quicker then I thought, but I manage to swing the axes and cut its flesh, causing it to stagger back in fear.

Aela: He someone managed to mix long range fighting with melee weapons.

Aela smiles wide, scaring Ria who hides behind Farkas.

Farkas: Aela, watch the canines.

I continue to strike the giant, wave my arms around in an almost dance-like pattern. The axes move in such a way they appeared like they were being moved inside that of a whirlwind.

Ria: How long did it even take him to learn to fight like that?

Sven: Right?? Even I'm amazed! To this day I still can't believe it but he started using those chain axes 2 weeks ago!

The 3 companions look to Sven with shock and Hadvar speaks up.

Hadvar: He's a quick learner, before those two weeks he claimed he never fought a day in his life, but even then, he proves to be an incredible warrior. And he never stops. While practicing combat with us in the day, he'd use the time left to use those axes in the night. It's not perfect but…

I swing my arms down causing the two axes to go overhead and strike the giant from above, but it catches the axes with both hands, giving a cheeky smirk at me.

Hadvar:…He makes it work.

Alexander: You really think catching my axes puts you at an advantage?

I run up to the giant and jump, extending the chains until reaching their ends and switch them to different hands, part of the chains land atop the giants shoulders and I throw one end of the chains to Hadvar's direction.

Alexander: HADVAR!!!

Hadvar: Aye, Sir!

I land and both me and Hadvar pull an individual chain as quick as possible, pulling back the giant arms, constricting it completely. It's starts to flail around with its feet in a panic.

Alexander: SVEN CUT IT DOWN!!

Sven dashes rapidly with a 2 iron maces in hand, and using the force from his speed, hits the giant directly in the knees, while running and ducking between the giants legs. The force of the blow causes the giant to fall directly onto its knees, exposing its chest. In an attempt it tries to lift itself back up.

Alexander: REDCAP, PIN IT DOWN!!!

Redcap runs and bounces atop of Farkas' shoulders, reaching several feet in the air, then with a mighty throw lands two spears directly through the giants feet, planting them into the ground! Now the giant was fully exposed, that leaves the attacks to be done by our friends.

Alexander: Companions!!!

I shout towards the 3 warriors, who looked in awe of this spectacle.

Alexander: Now's your chance! Take this finally blow!!!

Aela: You sure about that?

Alexander: It's your kill! We just wanted to help!

Aela smiles widely yet again and leads Ria and Farkas, first Farkas using his great sword, piercing the giant through the stomach, the giant flails around forcing Farkas to back away in the defensive, losing grasp on his great sword.

Aela and Ria both move in to attack the giant, using the sword still in its stomach the giant swings its lower body to attack the women but Ria blocks with her shield, allowing Aela to attack the giant directly on the head, she lands on the giants shoulders and puecetes her sword right through the giants head, killing it completely.

Everyone finally relaxes and as I try to collect my chains I see Aela, enveloped in the sunlight, looking proudly at me with her hand drawn out to me, waiting for me to shake it.

Aela: You fought really well…

She looks down and at first looks surprised but smiles and appears more impressed.

Aela: That's an impressive sword you have there.

I look at her confused.

Alexander: Sword I don't use a— oh.

I look down, without realizing that something had awoken.

Alexander: Ah…I'm…I am so sorry it has a mind of its own—

Aela: No it's fine, in fact seeing it makes me really to go one on one with you some day.

I gulp.

Alexander: Uh…in a fight, right?

Aela's smile grows wider.

Aela: We'll see.

My whole body begins to stiffen just as hard, as I stand there like a gaping idiot before Aela waves at me goodbye in a seductive manner, with Farkas and Ria following behind.

I still stand stiff until Hadvar finally taps my shoulder.

Hadvar: Oi! Alexander you alright??

I snap back from my daze as I see Hadvar with the biggest shit eating grin I've ever seen.

Alexander: And what's that look for exactly Hadvar?

Hadvar: Oh nothing. Just thought it funny how you can fight a giant no problem, but seem to freeze when a woman talks to you.

Alexander: It's not a matter of her talking to me! It's a matter of how she herself talks to me. I mean, you saw the way she looked at me yeah?

Hadvar: Oh yeah, the same eyes that a predator gives when seeing some worthwhile prey.

Hadvar starts to laugh along with Sven, I won't lie I chuckle a bit too but more so from the fact that Hadvar's joke couldn't be more true then he realizes, Redcap looks at all of us confused though.

Alexander: Alright, enough screwing around. We've no time to waste, let's get going to Whiterun.

We continue to venture until we finally reach the gate, the guard does the normal "Halt!" Schtick and stops us.

Guard: Halt! City's closed with the dragons about. Official Business only.

I place my hand on the guard and give him a stern look.

Alexander: We have a message for the Jarl regarding Riverwood. It's urgent.

The guard looks at the group I'm with and nods.

Guard: Fine, but I'm keeping an eye on you.

The guard goes up to the gate to open it, then motions for us to go on ahead.

Come to think of it, I've been leveling my speech a lot, what's the level?

I check and my eyes nearly spills out of my head, the level of my speech alone has already reached 40. I know I've been finessing a lot when talking to people but how?!

Author: The gags are canon lol.

How the hell is that supposed to be lore friendly?—

Wait, is this in reference to another mod?

Author: Maaaybe. Maybe not. Does the name saintcrazythefollower mean anything to you?

My eyes widen as the realization creeps up on me.

Alexander: COMPLIMENTS AND INSULTS!! Of course!!!

The group look at me like I was crazy.

Redcap: What. About. Compliments. And. Insults. Friend?

Alexander: Uh…just…um…HEY LET ME GET THE GATE FOR YOU GUYS!!

As we go inside I'm met with the wondrous sight of finally seeing Whiterun in person, unlike the game the city was so much larger, more homes ranging across the area, flowers, plants, and trees on every corner, covering the whole place in a magnificent view, people all laughing and talking to one another, and children peacefully playing without a care in the world.

Whiterun has always been my favorite hold in the game, and seems like it still will be in this life as well.

Alexander: This city, it's amazing.

Hadvar: It gets more beautiful the more I see it.

Sven: I have never seen so many flowers in one spot.

Redcap runs around frantically, looking as if he's trying to find something among the gardens lined around the town.

Hadvar: Uh, Alexander, what's wrong with him?

Alexander: Redcap? What're you looking for?

Redcap: Oh! Redgrass! Me. See. Plants. But. No. Redgrass!

Hadvar: Redgrass? What in Oblivion is Redgrass?

Alexander: A steroid for Rieklings.

Hadvar: Huh?

Alexander: Nevermind, sorry buddy, but there's no Redgrass in Skyrim. If we ever head to Solstheim, we'll get a whole mess of them!

Redcap: YES! Me. Want. Redgrass!

Even when he's desperate for his fix he's lovable. Man I love this little guy!

I motion to everyone to follow me, we make our way to the Bannered Mare, before entering, I see to the corner of my eye a bushel of Deathbells, taking 6 and placing into my pouch.

Upon entering the Inn, I'm met with a warm and welcoming air of comfort, inside there's some guards enjoying their mead as some catcall the servers.

Alexander: You all relax here for now, I need to check something.

The group splits up and I walk up to Hulda, who is seen wiping the bottom of a mug like some cartoon bartender, until she sees me and stops, turning to my direction with a smile.

Hulda: Welcome to the Bannered Mare stranger. Can I help you with anything? Some mead? Food? Or if you're looking for a bed, that can also be arranged. But you will be kicked out if you try some funny stuff in that room. I won't clean up that mess.

I raise my eyebrow.

Alexander: Uh…What?!

Hulda: Oh you know, everyone of my servers keeps sleeping with some adventurer that manages to charm them. Some of them gets lucky enough to be married and live a nice life, but it's a 50/50 chance and I lose too many staff that way.

Alexander: D-Does that happen often?

Hulda: More then you think. I keep telling these girls to stop, but you know how it is.

Hulda sighs in exhaustion, she averts her eyes from me and glares. Of course, I didn't realize where she was looking, that is until I feel a soft pillowy sensation on my arm, then something grabbing a hold of it.

I slowly begin to realize what this sensation was, and I turn around to see a black haired, tall and beautiful woman, fluttering her eyelashes at me, revealing an alluring blue color in her irises.

Alexander: Um…can…I help you?

The woman smiles and looks to me with a certain seductive expression, and moves closer to me.

Sexy woman: Maybe, but that depends on how long you can last.

My body begins to tense up a little bit, but only for a second, as I start to have a strange realization about this woman. The way she talked, sounded Vaguely familiar.

Hulda hits a mug on top of the woman's head in a fit of annoyance.

Sexy Woman: Oowww! Hulda what the hell?!

Hulda: Don't you, "What the hell me!" When I took your naked drunken ass out of those stables, it was to help you make some coin! But so far, all you've done is bring the farm inside the Bannered Mare! All I see you do instead of work is get in fights with patrons who get too touchy! And flirt with some adventurers! Including this one!

Sexy Woman: B-but! He's…an old friend!

Alexander: Pardon?!?

Hulda and the woman stare at me with the woman folding her hands together and silently saying to, "Just go along with it."

She then proceeds to put me in a headlock in a playful manner.

Sexy Woman: That's right! Isn't that right Alexander?!

Alexander: Wait how do you know my—

She hugs me into her chest, interrupting what I was saying. As I continue to try and find a pocket of air to breathe from this large suffocating mass, she continues to laugh like a mad man.

Hulda sighs, and looks at her with contempt.

Hulda: Fine then, can't be the one to stop a reunion, but you better get back to work right after Sofia!

Alexander: SOFIA?!?

Important note from the author, please read the Creators Thought's after you've reached this point. Thank you!

I’m not gonna lie, I’m happy with how I went with this chapter. It does feel weird though trying to write some characters thirsting for Alexander though.

And in case anyone is wondering, no he’s not acting like a “virgin wimp” for no reason with women. Trust me there’s a reason, and it’ll be revealed at a later chapter.

Since this is the 10th chapter I’ve made, and I’ve made a surprisingly good following for readers, give me some questions you have about the series! Let me know and I’ll answer them for the first ever Q&A!
