My Nerd Mate: I Won't Let Her Go

She breathed in and out, trying to savor some air, she uttered, "I wish I_" She paused and tried not to open her eyes to meet, her best friend, Fennick gaze because she knew she might have a change of heart. "I wish not to have a mate! I wish I had no mate! I wish I won't find my mate and I wish he doesn't find me either!" Aurora swore never to have a mate when her grandmother told her she will die just the same way her mother died because of her mate. Every year on her birthday, Aurora visits the spring to say her wish (I wish not to have a mate!)  When she turned twenty-one, she went to the spring as usual and this time, Sage, was passing by and he happened to be the mate she never wished for. He fell for her beauty knowing she was his mate but when he heard her wish, he left in bitterness. Why would Aurora die when she meets her mate? What happens when she finds out the person she took as a friend was her mate?  Note: This story contains a lot of fantasy and has a different cliche from a normal werewolf book. Stung By A Tack

As they hurried down the stairs, they heard Sora talking to someone on the phone and decided to ignore her but they stopped on their track when Sora called Aurora's name. Aurora gave Sage a worried look and he nudged her to answer her grandmother. Aurora agreed and ran to her grandmother's room.

"I smell someone strange downstairs, who is that?" Sora requested as Aurora got in.

"A friend of mine, I mean, my boyfriend," Aurora answered sheepishly while Sora strain her eyes at her in shock.

"Your what?"

Aurora pouted her lips, "Hm mm

_"

Sora cut her off when she sprang up from her bed and began to make her way out of her room. Aurora shook her head and watched as her seventy-two years old grandmother trotted her way out to the living room to meet Sage. She followed behind, sluggish.

Immediately Sage saw her, he bowed his head in respect. He knew her before he went to school but he wasn't sure if she would remember him as the Beta's son.

"Who are you?" Sora asked in a hurry.

"I'm Sage," he replied after his thoughts were confirmed and bowed his head in respect.

"Which region are you in the pack and what role have you got? You smell too strong," she conceded, eyeing him from head to toe.

"I live here in the prime region," he answered, trying not to make a bad impression. However, as soon as Sora opened her mouth to say a word, Aurora jumped to stand beside Sage and interlocked their fingers, displaying her serious relationship with him.

"We're late Mrs Sora, can we discuss the interview another time?" Aurora relayed.

"Really?" Sora mocked, staring at both faces, suspiciously.

"Yes," Aurora answered, pulling Sage along with her and they both stridden out leaving Sora to her thoughts.

They made use of Aurora's car since it was the only ride available for them. On their way, Sage mind-linked Rae that he should tell him why they must be at the dungeon but Rae told him to get there first and shut his mind to avoid further questions.

Sage got angry while Aurora made fun of him. "I can't imagine our upcoming Alpha getting injected with wolfsbane," she mocked, reminding him of the punishment the King had given to them if the rogues misbehaved.

"And I also remembered you're not excluded," Sage said out of rage.

"You looked a lot angry now," Aurora said and laughed to her fullest.

Sage gave her a side glance and returned his gaze to the road to avoid the same incident that has happened some weeks to repeat itself. "You sound like you're not getting punished."

"Wolfbanes does nothing to me," she mumbled, trying hard not to burst into laughter looking at Sage's angry face. "You're angry but your face still looked cute,"  she complimented and Sage was forced to blush.

"Do I?" He asked his gaze still on the road.

"Some seconds ago. You spoiled it the moment you start to flush," she said between laughter. When she wouldn't stop laughing, Sage got attracted to it. They began to laugh and joke until they got to the dungeon.

They got down together and headed into the dungeon only to see slaves well arranged in a consecutive manner.

"Don't tell me it's not what I am thinking," Sage confronted Rae as soon as he set his eyes on him.

"I'm so sorry, bro," Rae apologised and tried to cross his arms across Sage's shoulder but he flung them away.

"Don't touch me!" Sage snarled. "You brought me here to do what exactly? To train slaves?" He inquired out of anger.

Rae shrugged, "It's not something that bad."

Sage started to caress his forehead with his left hand out of frustration. Rae brought him out because he wanted them to train slaves. He shook his head and grabbed Aurora's hand, veered around and began to walk away.

"You're starting to act like a real King, Sage, keep it up," Rae said and gave him a thumbs up.

Instantly, Sage turned to him and growled but Aurora was quick to touch him, making him feel their spark which calmed his aggressive wolf.

"I think that your training isn't a waste."

Aurora wished she could leap on Rae and shut his mouth so he would stop flaunting trash towards her boyfriend but she couldn't just disrespect the leader of the Gamma if she wasn't looking for her death yet.

"Let's help in training the slaves. They need our help too. You know they aren't much of a good trainer among the shifters present," Aurora tried to calm Sage.

Sage shook his head disapprovingly and Aurora nodded her head in agreement. They continued that way until Sage finally gave up on her.

After hours of training the slaves, they prepared to go home but Sage insist they go for a run since Aurora had run without him during the day. Aurora agreed and Sage pleaded with a shifter to help him drive his car home as he and Aurora made their way into the forest.

They both shifted and growled at the same time, and then they began to run. Aurora's wolf tried to slow down with Sage's wolf while he tried his best to run ahead of her but he couldn't, earning more mockery from her.

"We don't have a Zeta unless I would have thought you were his child," Sage mind-linked and Aurora giggled.

Unknowing to her as she hopped up exhibiting her excitement and when she landed back, she fell on a tack. She groaned in pain.

"What's wrong?" Sage asked, immediately he saw her fall to the ground.

"I've been stung by a nail," she replied and groaned more.

Sage nuzzled her paws to check out the tack and he saw it. He also whined seeing how deep the tack has wounded her.

"I'm going to shift, you don't mind my nakedness, right," he said and began to lick her paws to clear the blood gushing out of them.

"Fuck! I don't care!" Aurora growled at him.

"Fine. I think you also have to shift too," Sage muttered and Aurora shrieked.

"What did you just say? Whoops," She grumbled when Sage shifted back to human. She tried so hard to move her gaze but she was already drawn to his athletic body.

"You have to shift back," he told her.

"You must be crazy!" she yelled as he pulled out the tack from her paws, within a second, she shifted.
