"Miss Nine!"
I look around for the source of the sound and eventually my eyes land on the white wolf standing by the door.
"Peta? Is that you? Am not hallucinating right?"
I take a step forward but my knees give way and I fall down.
"Miss Nine!"
"Sister!"
The two rush to my side and I let out a silent chuckle.
"Why are you two over reacting? I just lost my balance, don't look so troubled."
With Black's help, I get to my feet easily and he reluctantly agrees to let go of my hand after a few persuasion.
"Sister, your wound..."
"Hmm?"
I bring my fingers to the place the wound was and feel nothing, no blood no scar nothing just my skin.
"How did... am pretty sure I was bleeding not so long ago..."
Peta and Black exchange looks of concern before turning to me.
"What's wrong?"
A pain shoots up the back of my neck and all turns black.
"Miss Nine!"
"Calm down will you, I just temporarily knocked her out."
"WHAT! You killed her? How could you do something so awful to our Miss Nine, she didn't deserve to die like this," Peta whines and Black's eyebrow twitches in annoyance.
"She's not dead you stupid wolf!" Black shouts and Peta quiets down from fear.
"R- really?"
"You wolves are so annoying, am taking her to her room."
"Wait for me master Black, I'll come too," Peta says and rushes after him with quick strides.
"You saw that too right?" Black asks.
"Saw what?"
Black looks at the innocent wolf before him and shrugs," Never mind, you better watch after her."
"I'll guard Miss Nine with my life," he says and Black stands from the bed.
"You better keep your words, otherwise, you'll never be able to show yourself to your master alpha feral," he says and Peta winces at his words.
"O- of course Master Black," he whimpers and Black walks out closing the door behind him.
"What do you want?" Black asks after closing the door without turning to face the unexpected visitor.
"Can't I drop in to say hello?"
"No one wants anything to do with you blood suckers get lost," he replies coldly and pushes his way past him.
"Aren't you heartless? You use me then throw me away, do I really seem like the type to have no feelings?"
Black stops and turns to face him.
"Feelings? Don't be ridiculous, what can you possibly know about feelings?"
"OUCH!"
He grabs his heart in mock pain and Black grits his teeth.
"You-"
"Don't get so worked up my dear, you'll have wrinkles on your handsome face," he replies frantically fanning Black's annoyed face," there much better."
Black grabs his wrist in a firm grip his eyes fixed on his.
"Be honest with me, what do you want."
"How long are you going to keep it from her?" he asks his tone suddenly serious.
Black lets go of his hand an inevitable uneasiness settling upon him.
"You know you can't keep her in the dark forever right?" he asks rubbing his wrist," you were to hard on little old me Black, look my wrist is all red."
Enraged, he grabs him by his collar and pulls him closer to him that he's only inches away from his face," I'll keep it from her for as long as I live. Like hell would I allow her to fall prey into your filthy traps."
"Filthy? You can't keep the truth from her for long, she's bound to find out one day."
Black's grip on his shirt loosens," That's none of your concern. Now please, will you show yourself out or will I have to kick you out myself."
"Hmph! Hope you won't regret this Black, however, that girl is drawing some unwanted attention to herself, and am sure you've noticed the numerous 'stench' on her, let's see how long you'll protect her from her destiny."
Black's grip on the wall tightens at this and he merely chuckles.
"Get out!"
"This is interesting, I really want to see the look on your face once she finds out the truth, what will you do then Black?"
"I said GET OUT!"
He throws a punch in his direction but he simply side steps it and lands on the window frame.
"You'll swallow your pride and come looking for my help, after all, you are my favourite..." his words trail off as he jumps through the window dodging Black's attack.
"Master Black? I heard noises and..."
"Forget it, just go keep an eye on Nine."
Before Peta can answer, Black walks down the path heading to his room.
I slowly stir in bed and my eyes flutter open. It takes a minute or two for my eyes to adjust to the brightness of the room.
"Miss Nine, you're finally awake, how was your rest?"
I sit up rubbing the back of my neck but wince immediately I feel a bump.
"Careful!"
"Am okay but, what happened?"
"Nothing that should be of concern to you sister."
"Black?"
"I made breakfast, come down and eat before the food goes cold."
With that he walks out of sight and I exchange a worried look with Peta who was the only one who seemingly cared about me.
"Is he..."
"Master Black stayed up really late last night because he was worried about you Miss Nine," Peta replies without thinking.
"Worried? Hah I find that hard to believe but not impossible."
"Miss Nine?"
"For as long as I can remember, Black and I have been together, I barely know what my parents look like, I have no memory of them, and not so long back, Black was said to be mentally unstable," I bring a hand to my face covering one eye," I decided to study medicine so that I could prove to everyone that Black was and is still a normal human being. He shouldn't be under so much pressure..."
Black was standing outside the door and he let the tears flow down.
