Chapter thirty-six: Who sent them?

Rick, these guidebooks are very expensive, Miss Tasha complained. A single metal element guidebook was sold for four thousand gold coins and Rick was currently requesting four guidebooks.

Miss Tasha, don't worry. When I improve my metal element, you would be able to brag to the world that Rick Hunter is your student.

They had only found four metal element guidebooks in the auction house which was a little disappointing.

Hmph, Miss Tasha ignored him as she paid sixteen thousand gold coins. 

Sixteen thousand gold coins were a huge amount of money in the present day. An average family's monthly income was not more than ten thousand gold coins yet, she spent sixteen thousand in one day.

I better start going home, Rick told her after collecting the books from her. He would start learning new skills immediately after he got back.

Fine, he told him before continuing "I should follow you home at least I should pay your parents a visit".

Rick's head began to ache after hearing her. He had told her he snuck out of the house to get guidebooks from her but, she was insisting on following him home.

You don't have to worry, as long as your parents see you with me, they won't complain so much, said Miss Tasha.

Hmm, Rick sighed. He had to bring her with him whether he liked it or not. He was only hoping his parents won't get mad at him.

Rick, do you notice some strange movement? She asked.

Since they left the auction she had a gelling that they were being followed so she was being vigilant.

Suddenly, different destructive spells were shot at them flanking them from all directions.

I knew it, Miss Tasha mumbled as she quickly formed a shield with her ice magic.

Something doesn't feel right, I told Miss Tasha as I reinforced her ice shield with my new shield.

Suddenly, a hugely destructive force crashed on their shield knocking them into the wall.

Gah, Rick mumbled as he spat a mouthful of blood. The attack was equivalent to a level two hundred magician attack luckily, he had reinforced Miss Tasha's shield with his new shield.

Thanks, she told me as she stood up. Although she was at level one-fifty, she couldn't stop the attack alone.

Miss Tasha, they are most likely assassins. I don't think they would leave us until we're dead.

Can you find a way to distract them? She asked as she stood up. 

I should be able to, I told her with doubt. Judging from their level, I wasn't sure if I could challenge any of them on his own.

I will show them what they get after messing with me, she snorted. If not for their combined attack they shot at us earlier.

Time barrier, I used my magic to evade their attack before activating my teleportation magic to split them up.

As long as I maintained a safe distance from them, they would not hurt me, I reasoned as I began to construct my magic circle.

Time fists, I yelled as I shot several time fists at the man who was dashing towards me.

Argh, he yelled out in pain as my time fists hit his vital parts.

Suddenly, I felt a very pressuring aura suppressing my magic. 

Shit, I mumbled as I began to run away with my teleportation and time barrier.
