Chapter seventeen: Seven days

What, Ben shouted in frustration. Even Tom and May were left speechless. 

After checking the school website, I realized that our group had been merged with Ben's group and one other group.

Hmm, May harrumphed. Nobody wanted to team up with Ben group because of their lack of cooperation and organization.

Anyway, we have one week to organize ourselves before we start the mission. Also, there is going to be a large reward depending on the number of monsters we kill, I announced while trying to raise the morale of my teammates.

Ehem, is this the MTR group? A boy who was accompanied  other people asked.

Yes and how may we help you? May replied coldly. She was already pissed off when she found out that Ben was going to merge with our group so, she was not in the mood to talk to anyone.

Well, we were asked to join your group, he replied while looking at us disdainfully.

You piece of shit, I mumbled. Only kids from an extremely popular and wealthy clan could look down on others easily.

It seems we have more company, Ben laughed as he noticed our bad mood. 

I think we should get familiar with one another strength and weaknesses, another boy from the other group suggested with a humble tone.

Sure, I replied him before asking them to follow us to our room allocated to our group.

So what level are you in Rick? Tom asked with a wicked grin.

I'm currently in level 11, I replied.

That's impossible, Ben snorted.

I don't care if you believe me or not but what's on my mind is how we are going to survive, I snorted.

Enough with the argument, the boy retorted before continuing. I am Le Xian, and this is Rebecca, Emily and Jackson.

Nice to meet you Le Xian, I said as I extended my arm to shake his.

Well, my team can be the vanguard, Le Xian suggested.

Then our group will take the rear part, Tom replied.

But who is going to be the scout? May suddenly asked.

How about their group, Le Xian said while pointing at Ben.

There's no way we're going to be the scout, our group is the only group with the most firepower so we are going to be the vanguard, Ben yelled.

What's the big deal in being the scout? Rebecca asked abruptly. She was obviously angry after hearing Ben boast.

I think we should decided who's going to be the scout later.

Hmm, Le Xian nodded in agreement.

Anyway, our mission is in Saudi Arabia. We have to eliminate all the evolved monsters in the country before we can return, Le Xian said as he brought out some files and handed one to each of us.

What do you mean by evolved monsters? Tom asked.

Ehem, some criminal group created a poisonous gas that could help the monsters evolve into humans so, we have to kill them before they fully evolve, Le Xian responded.

Evolving monsters, that's definitely bad news, I mumbled.

Anyway, we have seven days to get prepared, Le Xian let out.
