She bit her nails while walking back and forth in their living room. She was left alone with Victoria and Ashley as Jun went to talk to Louise and the boys had some errands to do. She was about to end the call when someone answered.
"Ashley, hurry," she whispered to Ashley who was running down the stairs.
She looked at her for help but Ashley wasn't saying anything. "Hi, may I speak to Niko Laurent Stone?" with her soothing and calm voice, the assistant immediately knew who it was.
"good morning Miss Vivienne, Mr. Stone is still in a meeting, I will notify him that you called,"
"thank you, I'll call later," with that she ended the call. Ashley sighed and nudged Victoria who was eating chocolate cookie chips.
She straightened herself and looked at Liana. "I'm sure we'll find out about what happened. What we have to do is not spill everything to Niko because~ he will keep the secrets to himself and act on his own,"
"we practiced this early in the morning—"
Liana rolled her eyes and muttered her so called speech, "I know. Don't spill everything. Just ask him about what happened to me when I was a kid. I won't spill the name, Julius Kim or anything related to the criminal. I don't even know who's the criminal,"
Victoria clapped her hand and walked to the kitchen to drink water. Instead of Liana, she was the one, together with Ashley, who felt nervous.
The three ladies were guarding her phone, just in case her brother would call her back. An hour later, they were starting to get tired. They were about to close their eyes and rest on the couch when a loud screaming of Ashley was heard, as a call notification.
Ashley glared at Liana and told her to answer the call. Finally, reading the caller ID, she slide her finger to the right and put the phone on her ear.
Niko greeted her and asked what was wrong. She smiled knowing that her brother was very caring. "I need to ask you something but first promise me that you won't throw any fist,"
He scoffed, knowing his little sister, "Then I'm surely throwing fists later. Now, what is it?"
She sighed and looked Ashley and Victoria for reassurance. They smiled and instantly, she got a little confident.
"So, few days ago, we were being threatened. Well, I was but Jun got included. So, I'm asking you, what happened when I was just a child?"
Truth be told, she had a lot of questions to ask to her parents, to her family. She felt like unimportant. She got a lot of rules to follow and severe punishments if she rebel.
So, she decided that today will be the confrontation day. Niko's going to help her get her questions answered, whether he likes it or not.
"the clock is ticking Niko," she blurted out, as if he's not older than her.
He sat down on his chair and massage dhis temples. He wasn't sure on how to explain it to her. He wanted to keep it by himself. Giving her the answer or just a slight idea might lead to devastating events, the reason why she's not involved in family matters.
She's just not allowed to know things that actually harms her. That's why there's a saying, 'ignorance is a bliss'. She does not need to worry about the things she doesn't know, but she's stubborn.
"first, tell me why did you wait for days to confront me about it," she stopped herself from breathing.
She promised Jun not to spill any side details about the unfortunate incident but if she won't answer Niko, for sure, Niko won't answer hers too.
She blushed and frantically look at Ashley. She then muted the call before whispering at Ashley, "he's asking me about the incident,"
"tell him that it wasn't really important and Jun managed to handle it,"
She gave her a flying kiss before unmuting the call again. "So, Uhm...it wasn't really important—I know that anything related to me is important...but Jun managed to handle it. He was there for me and he made sure that I was safe and sound. I know what you are thinking and yes, not a single scratch on my body visible to the naked eyes, "
Knowing her brother, Niko, she memorized his famous lines. It's as if they're sharing the same brain cells, you know. She got it all handy.
" really? "
She sighed and asked," do you want to run a thorough scan? "
Niko laughed and disagreed to her idea. Even when he laughed, he knew that he could do nothing to stop his sister from asking her questions.
"I will limit the times you get to ask me questions, mi querida hermana,"
"first and foremost, I need you to narrate any accidents I experienced when I was a child,"
He smirked, finally slowly getting the picture, "my pleasure. Now, where should I start first?" he paused for a while before he continued.
