The place was surrounded with different kinds of flowers. There were daisies, lavenders, poppies, wax flowers, mini sunflowers all mixed together.
In the middle, there was a wooden board which was covered with beige cloth. There were two throw pillows and in the middle was a large wooden basket, which she guessed was full of foods.
"Lor, you may sit down,"
"This is wonderful. Let me take a picture, maybe two or three or four,"
He glanced at her happy face and instantly, his heart leaped out of joy.
While she was taking pictures, he took out the foods, specifically, her favorites. Chocolate mousse cake, and fruits such as sliced watermelon, grapes, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and pineapples. Lastly, he took out wine glasses and the bottle of wine.
"oh my gosh!" she exclaimed before quickly sitting down.
"what's the occasion?" she mindlessly ask, not getting any hint.
"as I said, I wanna take you out on a date. Things are pretty hard for you,"
"is this some kind of reward?"
"what does this look like to you?" he asked, intensly staring at her who was stuttering and zoning out.
"Uhm...somewhat like a reward...but...you always give me reward. So, I guess this one's...special?"
By the time she was finished, she looked up and met his eyes. There was something between them but she didn't know what it was. She could feel it, but couldn't point it out to herself. It was familiar but unknown to her.
" let's take few pictures, " he quickly stated, changing the topic and eased the awkward moment. He placed the camera somewhere a little far from them and they made a few pose.
"aeeyy, we look good together," he softly whispered, not enough for her to hear.
"this is so fresh, honestly," she admitted. Being able to breath in an amazing place like this was special to her.
It meant something to her and she captured the moment, that day, in her heart. It was forever embedded in her heart.
He cut the cake and placed the piece on her plate before cutting his piece too.
"it seemed like you know how to take down notes. Where'd you get this cake?"
Just by hearing her words, he knew that the effort that he put was all worth it.
"from the special place," she laughed at his excuse and began on eating the fruits. She looked back at the flowers and smiled at something. She was reminded of the beautiful moment a decade ago.
She was shocked that a decade had passed already. It seemed like yesterday. But with everything she went through, it was indeed a decade ago.
He looked at her with adoration in his eyes but she didn't know that. The corner of his lips curved when she smiled while looking at the scenery.
Curiosity filled him and forced him to ask, "what were you thinking?"
"nothing. I'm so thankful for this. It feels like a real date," knowing that she probably looked like a red tomato, she covered her cheeks with her hair.
"I was hoping that you'd be able to guess it," he softly said.
"why do you talk in that way? I can't hear anything,"
She knew him for 10 years already, yet she never got to ask him about that. Whenever he wanted to say something to her only, he goes silent, as if he didn't want her to hear it.
There was a long silent moment between the two. It wasn't awkward. Rather, it was peaceful.
It couldn't be awkward. They were already comfortable in each other that it was no need to talk a lot of things. For a decade, it was sure that they shared enough things.
He knew all about her and despite knowing everything, he accepted her and helped her. On the other hand, she knew all about him too. His desires for women, his dark secrets which she was already included as his assistant, his family ties and all.
She couldn't judge him. She didn't have any right to. He was her savior when she was desperate for one. He didn't have intentions behind it. He was indeed just helping a 17 year old lady limping on the dark alley with bloody bruises.
"you know, if your sister was here, she would've taken pictures already. I bet she would make me sit there and there while she uses her magic and she would let you stand somewhere and force you to smile,"
"how about we actually take pictures like professional photographers usually do?"
