Alexis was humming songs and hopping like a bunny when she was returning home from the academy. For the first time in years, she was enjoying instead of being cautious, when she walked alone. She was enjoying the beautiful sight of the city. Bikes and cars were zooming to their destination while hovering at least a feet up from the ground. Bullet trains were busy carrying people from one Area to another. There were skyscrapers built alongside the road which were displaying advertisements, mostly to encourage young people to join the IGT Fed.
The noise from people and vehicles were slowly dying down when she started to approach her home. Fewer people were on the street, there were no skyscrapers but small homes and apartments. But rather than being scared and moving her feet faster, she was enjoying the fresh air. Alexis had never felt so carefree in a while.
Sadly, her cheerfulness did not last very long. Her legs suddenly came to a stop when she saw a familiar silhouette. That silhouette kept on moving closer to her until it revealed the face of Judy. Alexis slowly moved her eyes towards Judy's face. Judy had a grim sneer on her face; if a child had seen this expression, they probably would have fainted instantly out of fear.
And Alexis was no exception, she started to feel goose bumps all over her body. The smile that was on Alexis's face just a while ago had already died and it had already turned into a frightened one. Her heart was beating very fast; it would have already escaped from her body if it was possible.
Judy leaned forward to the face level of Alexis and tilted her head while maintaining eye contact, "Are you scared, my little alien?" Judy asked in a sarcastic tone.
"Wait, this is not possible. You should be in police custody right now. How? How are you here?" Alexis had made sure that Judy and her puppies were already in the police custody. She could not understand how Judy was still roaming free. "Perhaps the officer lied about it? But why would he lie?" Alexis went into deep thought. From what she knew, Officer Evans was a man of his words and there was no way he would make a false statement.
"Well…" Judy's shrilling voice brought Alexis back to reality. "… My dad is a prominent Area Leader. He pulled a few strings and here I am." Judy moved her lips closer to touch Alexis's ear and whispered, "Couldn't wait to meet you." Judy's words reverberated through Alexis's skin sending a chill through her body.
Alexis wanted to turn around and run as fast as she could. But she had promised herself that she would not run away anymore, that she would speak up against anyone who tried to abuse her. So, she stood her ground and said, "Just leave me alone Judy. Haven't you had enough? Why are you so obsessed with beating me?"
"I didn't want to be obsessed with this little alien standing in front of me. But she made a grave mistake by filing a police report." Judy's look turned into a serious one for a split-second and again she put up a smirk and asked, "What did you think would happen other than our sweet encounter? Did you, by chance, fantasize about how they would punish me?" She chuckled and said, "You couldn't be more wrong."
Alexis did not want to get hospitalized again, or worse, die. Alexis thought of stalling Judy for a while and calling the police when she gets a chance. So she put on a brave face and talked as if she wasn't scared at all, "I've never seen a sadist person like you. You thrive in other's pain, don't you? But today I'm not going to give you that satisfaction."
Alexis slowly slipped her hand inside her bag and tried to find her cell phone without making it obvious. But Judy was quick to pick her hand movement and caught her hand and brought it out of her bag, "Thinking of calling for a little help now, aren't we?"
"I'm doomed", this was all Alexis could think right now as her little escape plan crumbled right in front of her eyes.
"You brought this upon yourself, my little alien." Judy gave a cold piercing look to Alexis and the very next moment Alexis could feel a throbbing pain in her stomach. She crouched a little and her breathing started to become heavy because of the pain but she did not cry. Crying only meant giving satisfaction to her enemy.
"It seems like your pain threshold went up since last time. See? I'm making you stronger." Judy grabbed Alexis by her hair and made Alexis look at her, "You should be grateful towards me rather than filing a police report."
Alexis wanted to fight back. She remembered how Natalia was able to defeat Judy once and she really wanted to try. Alexis clenched her right hand into a fist and then with all her power she punched Judy at the side of her waist. But nothing happened, Judy did not even blink her eyes, leave alone cause her pain.
Judy narrowed her eyes and said, "Feisty! But it wasn't enough to scratch me."
Judy gave two blows to Alexis and she was pushed a feet away from Judy because of the force exerted. This time Alexis could not help but scream because of the pain. But she still moved closer to Judy, clenched her fists and then returned her two blows. This time Judy slid an inch back from her position. She could feel a tingle in her stomach.
"You scratched the right spot, I was feeling itchy", Judy was impressed by Alexis and she grinned. "I would love to play all day long with you but let's cut this short." Judy said this and then immediately gave Alexis an uppercut with her right hand, Alexis took a direct hit.
She flew for a millisecond and then banged on the ground. She felt an excruciating pain in her chest as if her heart just burst into pieces. She could not even breathe and just lay down on the ground, tears finally trickling down through her temple, reaching the ground beneath her head.
Alexis felt everything around her going blurry, her ears started to ring; she could feel her body slowly turning cold. She felt as if her soul was splitting from her body and was slipping further away. "This is it huh!" she thought. Her eyes started to flutter, trying to stay conscious; but all in vain. Her eyes finally closed.
Judy was thinking that Alexis would wake up and would try to punch her, but seeing her not moving at all, she went closer to her. "Maybe she is unconscious again", she thought to herself. She bent down and stared at Alexis for a while to notice that she had no pulse. A chill shiver ran down through her spine and her eyes wide open, "Did I just kill her?"
Judy took a few steps back and was short of breath. Then she pulled her own hair and started to shout, "What have I done? I did not want to kill her… I…" and then realization hit her, "I loved her. Why couldn't I just accept that I loved her?"
"I don't deserve to live." Judy was mumbling to herself and was acting like a mad dog, searching here and there for any object to kill herself with. Then she noticed that Alexis's body was glowing in azure color. It seemed as if she was on fire. Judy immediately went near the body and tried to put off the fire, her eyes filled with tears, "No, no, no… you can't disappear. Please don't disappear."
