Chap 10:- Song Of the Fairy Beast

Zeno, Alisha and their grandpa moved forward and soon entered the first layer of the beast mountain.

"Wow, the mist is soo thick..." Zeno exclaimed on entering the mountain which was covered in mist.

"It's nothing, just want for the third layer." His grandpa replied speeding up a lil to cover the distance faster.

On their way, they encountered many small beasts.

"Beast palm strike!"

*BOOM*

Alisha blew tons of small monsters, on seeing their siblings and friends blasting off like trash all other beasts ran into their nests to protect their eggs.

"Wow, sis... You are strong..." Zeno was awed to see her sis blasting off all the beasts.

"Yeah, and you are surprisingly weak, get going or I will smack your butt!"

"Okie okie..." Zeno speeded, up riding with his grandpa, Alisha guarding their backs.

It was already midnight and they have been riding for almost 4 hours.

"Grandpa... Can we take a short... Short nap...?" Zeno was exhausted from riding his horse for such a long time.

"Zeno... You are really weak... We can't wait, what if all the beasts attack us?" Grandpa was not ready to wait for a break.

"You dumbass... Why are you such a weakling..."

"Sister... My body is not that strong... Not I have stamina."

"Ok ok, both of you... Zeno, you wait here with red dragons claw, and I and Alisha will go and look for a cave which would lead to the second layer."

"W... Why are you not taking me with you..?" Zeno freaked out with the idea of him staying back alone in a mountain full of beasts.

"Because we want you to die in the hands of the beast." Alisha taunted him for being scared.

"W.. What!" Zeno exclaimed.

"Huh... Calm down, Zeno... The cave which leads to the second layer is full of strong beasts, they will attack you as you are the weakest among us, so it better you stay here."

"Oh... Ok but come back fast..."

"It will take only a few hours and if any beast comes near you just show your red dragon's claw."

"Ok grandpa, have a safe trip, you too sis." Zeno cheered up by the fact that he won't be thrown away.

"Just make sure you don't die, or I won't be able to mess with you." Alisha patted him on his head and moved towards the direction where the mist was thickest.

Soon both of them were out of his sight, he decided to have a lil walk around because he was tired of sitting on the horse for soo long.

"Aw, man... Why did they leave me... I'm bored... What do you think Mr. Horse? Was it right of them to leave both of us over here?"

The horse sat down and decided to take a short nap.

"Huh... Even you fell asleep... Now I will have to protect you and myself... What a pain..."

Zeno sat down facing his back to the horse.

Even after two whole hours, there was no sign of grandpa or Alisha, and this made Zeno worried.

"Yawn... Where are they... I will fall asleep if they don't come faster."

He took out his cellphone and tried looking for some signal.

"Shit man! There's no connection... At least it can work as a flashlight..."

After waiting for more than half an hour Zeno already fell asleep.

It was only a few hours before the sun would start to rise. In the darkness of night, a melodic tune created by a flute cleared all the mist and covered the entire mountain in pink sound waves.

These visible sound waves flowed through all the trees and ponds making the whole place alive.

All the beasts gathered in front of an old tree. The tree being old was yet filled with leaves and vines hung through its branches.

"Ahhhhh!!!!"

In the middle of the melody, a scary scream came out scaring away all the Beast's.

"What the!! What the hell is going on..." Even Zeno woke up from his slumber.

He checked his watch and realised it has only been an hour since his grandpa and sister went to find the entrance for the second layer.

"Dam... What should I do..." Zeno was scared for his life, he clearly remembered it was four in the morning before he went to sleep... But when he woke up it was three.

From a few meters away he saw someone of the same height as him, carrying a small pipe in her hand walking close to him.

Her face was covered by a veil, and she had two pairs of wings.

"Hello, young boy." The creature walked closer.

"W... Who are you..." Zeno almost lost his breath on seeing her come close to him.

"Hehe, it's a weird question, do you ask such a question to someone who just saved your life?" The creature replied with a friendly tone.

"You? When did you save me?"

She lifted her arms slowly towards the sky, and they started to glow, she brought her arms back to her chest, but this time a small figure floated from a bush, which was closest to Zeno.

"This lil one was using his ability Time trap, so I took him out so that you can wake up from it, if not for me he must have devoured you by now." The creature replied, her tone soft as ever.

"Wow... Th... Thanks a lot..." Zeno replied with a lil comfort.

"So tell me... Are you alone? This is a scary place, sweetie... You might get killed." The creature walked closer to him sitting by his side.

"Oh no no, im not alone, my sister and grandpa are looking for a cave to get to the second layer," Zeno replied scratching his head.

"Oh... You all going to the second layer, why didn't you join them?"

"The thing is... I'm not that strong, just my ability which is called regeneration is a rare one, so I can't fight anyone. I have no muscle power. And I don't even have any second ability..." Zeno said slightly disappointed in himself.

"You are not strong... But your aura is very special." The creature said gently touching his chest.

"You can read my aura...?" Zeno was surprised to hear that.

"Yeah... It's soo adorable... It is pink, yet has a smell of darkness..." The creature continued.

"Oh?! Well im Zeno Dane, im very pleased to meet you... So... What's your name?"

She was a lil surprised as if she was not ready for it, "I'm... You can call me Kate..."

"Nice to meet you, Kate! My grandpa told me his master lives in the centre of the mountain, and he can read my aura and teach me some things, but you already can read my aura, so why don't you teach me something...?"

"Oh, so you are here for Robert..." Kate's tone changed into a very cold one, and her friendly nature seemed to be disappearing.

"Yeah..." Zeno said a lil worried due to a change in her behaviour.

She gently embraced Zeno's face and said, "I can do a lot more than just seeing your aura or teaching you tricks... I can tell what you will become... What is hidden inside you... I can tell you all..."

Zeno was surprised by her actions but the curiosity of knowing about himself made him want tk talk more with her, "Yeah, I want to know it all."

"Fine, follow me to my home..." She pointed towards the old tree.

Zeno silently followed her to the old tree.

"Wow... This place seems old... How long have you been here?" Zeno asked her after seeing a massive tree, its trunk was almost ten meters wide.

Kate gently smiled and said, "Before we go in... Let me tell you... I am a beast... Though I don't harm humans and have been given a different task by the gods... Would you still follow me?"

Zeno took a step back, and after having a brief thought he said, "I don't mind... I won't mind even if I die right now... As I told I don't have any second ability, so my family would sell me, it's better to be killed than to be sold by your parents right...?"

Kate was surprised listening to his answer and explanation, after almost a century someone accepted her for being a beast, or usually, everyone would try to run away, and then she used to kill.

"You are some really interesting person... I have got a liking for you... Let's continue our talk inside." Kate pushed open a hidden door from the basement of the tree, and Zeno follows her down.
